The Golf Hotel  

the staff were very helpful,cheerful and friendly.The double room we had was very comfortable with a lovely view over the park.

Everything, no complaints whatsoever.

This is an excellent hotel, in the town but quiet. Excellent service and very good food at a very reasonable price. Silloth is a convenient, peaceful base from which to explore the Lake District. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will certainly be staying there again.

We only stayed for 1 night, but found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant, and found the food to be of good quality and value. Excellent location for The Golf Course.

The town itself is very tired looking with not much to do in regards of nightlife.

This is a hidden gem! It doesn't look much from the outside, but inside it is extremely comfortable, great en-suite facilities, free wi-fi, good choice of drinks (including real ale and malt whiskies) and really friendly staff.

I I liked the location.

I did not like the fact that there was not a private lounge for the guests to relax away from the general public that were in for a drink or meal

Excellent,service. Friendly Staff very good. Well priced Hotel for weekend stay and perhaps longer stay @cheaper rate would bring more customers.

The lady who works on the reception was very friendly and helpful and cheerful. I liked the fact i was upgraded to an executive room with a view at no extra cost. The cooked breakfast was excellent and the room i stayed in very comfortable (room 5).

The staff are very friendly and helpful. As soon as I arrived the welcome I received was so nice and friendly, the location was perfect for accessing everything. I like the place straight away that I booked another nite before I saw my room, the lady told me that I have been upgraded for no extra charge. I asked for things at breakfast that was not on the menu and they were happy to help and found me everything I had asked for. The room was first class, bathrobes and slippers on the bed. I had a view onto the local green where all the community comes out, when the weather is nice to play games and have panics. There are things for the children and funfair and a amusement arcade, but these are not unsightly. A lovely splash pool area for the toddlers to use. I enjoy running and it was nice to run right along the beach front.

There was nothing I could fault about the hotel, staff or food.

The Hotel is in a pleasant and handy location in a wide cobbled street opposite the town green. The room was clean & comfortable & we had excellent evening meals in the restaurant. We were also lucky to have the benefit of sunny days / evenings with nice views across the Solway Firth.

Not alot.

Room was dusty. Carpet was filthy. Only 2 of each of tea.coffee, and milk portions. No water in AM, so no shower. Was told it was because of low water pressure?????? It's been open nearly 40 years! and it's in Cumbria. Room was cold. Radiator did not come on. There was a very old and well used electric convector heater. No one told me it would be necessary. Decorators/builders started banging at 8.00am, and as the breakfast times were 7.30 to 9.30, it meant no lie in. Just book into somewhere else.

have stayed at this hotel quite a few times and have always enjoyed it

The staff were friendly made you feel very welcome and the hotel room was very clean and spacious and the meals were really nice and the waiters/waitress were very proffessional nothing was too much bother to them

The staff are a credit to the establishment, each one we spoke to seemed to have plenty time for us. We never saw the chef but we were very happy with the food he or she prepared. The bar and restaurant are a haven in a town that has little else to offer the traveler. If we had reason to be in Silloth again we would most certainly stay at the Golf.

We did have a problem with the hot water or lack of it in the shower but I would imagine that that has been sorted as we did mention it.

Das essen und die bedienung im hotel war sehr gut und die zimmer sehr geräumig.

Es fehlen die duschen im zimmer, es hatte wohl eine badewanne und eine toilette im zimmer aber eine dusche wäre schon viel zeitgemässer.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming . decor fresh and calming. A very relaxing experience

very quiet in dining room and lounge would benifit from some soft background music
