The attentativeness of the staff, their courtesy and professionalism were the best feature. The facilities are well maintained, comprehensive and well managed.

Truly beautiful location Not massively inspiring room. A bit of a standard hotel room which wasn't as luxurious and modern as those shown on website.

Nice location. The room we stayed in was so dark it resembled a cave, and considering it was a twin bedded room, why only one easy chair? The food in the bar and grill (for what appeared to be a Little Chef menu) was overpriced .Having stayed in several 5* hotels we found this experience a total disappointment.

Very friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Pleasant room Not so much a complaint as the fact that the layout of the hotel is very convoluted and the hotel supplies a map to find your way around it.

A luxury hotel on the wonderful Goodwood estate with its rolling downs. The staff are extremely helpful and professional and go out of their way to ensure guests have a good experience. The various facilities are excellent (the leisure centre has all you could want). Dining in the Richmond Arms is a very pleasurable experience with good food and attentive service. Although I didn't use it, £6 per hour for WiFi use is rather harsh when so many establishments offer this service for free. There is a charge of £25 per dog per night "for extra cleaning of the room". We had two Papillons in their own cage and the charge was waived for one of them. However, as the dogs were confined to their cage, there would not have been any extra cleaning involved - so this is a little unfair.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and all our requests were met promptly. The food was good (but see below) and the location is splendid. The swimming pool and the leisure facilities were excellent. The food in the Richmond Arms was good but was not of the standard that would be expected of a restaurant with such high prices - the liver was sliced too thick and was over-cooked, for example. Our main concern was that the service by the young men who served in the breakfast room/restaurant was so cold and unfriendly. The female staff smiled but the males never did.

We specifically booked the hotel to attend Friday of Glorious Goodwood. The hotel is minutes from the entrance to the race course so a perfect location. The staff were very good about allowing us to arrive early and drop bags so we could get to the race course early even though our room was not ready. Our bags were in our room when we arrived back at the hotel. Our room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. Molton Brown toiletries were a nice touch. The spa facilities were excellent. The restaurant was very nice and the food was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was great although we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. It was a pity that there was a very loud and unpleasant group at another table who nearly ruined the evening. Several diners complained and management asked them to quieten down more than once which they eventually did. It was probably the wrong type of group to allow in the restaurant given the high end nature of the venue and food. The television in our room took a while to 'warm up' - we had sound, but no picture, but given we were there for the races, it was not too much of an issue. Room prices had been hiked up for Glorious Goodwood - I'm not sure the room was worth what we paid, but then we had the option of staying further out if we wanted to pay less (for less!). Everyone has to make a profit.

This is a brilliant quality hotel, country house style on the Goodwood estate. Facilities, staff and food were first class. It's also very good value if you are lucky enough to get the 'best price discount deal', almost the same price as Premier Inn.

The location Very noisy as we were in a room next to a family with small children who woke us up screaming and shouting at 6.00am on Sunday morning! It would have been better if the hotel had allocated rooms to families with children in a sepaarte part of the hotel. The rooms are not air conditioned and the hotel provided portable free standing units - far too loud to sleep. Not great value for the £175 room rate!!

An extremely clean and comfortable hotel, (we stayed in a garden room) pleasant and helpful staff. My husband requested an early morning breakfast of a large bowl of porridge prior to a sporting activity which was greatly appreciated. Good quality breakfast and service in restaurant. All in all an enjoyable stay

The quiet atmosphere of the hotel made it a very relaxing staff. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to wake in the morning with the sound of birds and no traffic noise The staff are friendly but not over-bearing. The food is excellent. The leisure facilities are of a high standard.

There appeared to be no overall management. The hotel was full but they were unable to accommodate everyone at breakfast. We waited for about 20 mins. for a table and were then directed to have our breakfast in the Spa cafe`. Our room was clean but two light bulbs were not working and the wardrobe door was very noisy when opened or closed. Not enough attention to deatail

Very pleasant surroundings. Friendly staff. The corridors are a little long. The room was nice but the tv didn't work properly (we were told it was a new room-369).

Breakfast very good Grill restaurant also good.Service in restaurants good - ease of parking very good Decor in room 312 rather tatty - toilet seat would not stay up - fridge/cooler didn't seem to be working - bathroom grouting obviously been patched up. Poor directions to the hotel once in the area. Informed hotel it was my wife's 75th birthday and might have expected something more than a tiny pack of chocolates of the sort which many hotels put on your pillow at night!
