From the warm welcome on arriving to the no hassle checkout, we found the hotel staff friendly and efficient. I had read several reviews before booking this hotel and all I can say is; if you want to stay in your room all day looking at Art Deco furnishings, do not choose the Grand Hotel. If, however you want a clean, comfortable room with all the essentials (tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and even shampoo sachets-which you do not usually find in small hotels) and want a hot, good quality buffet breakfast with plenty of choice then look no further. Excellent location facing a park and gardens, with a two minute walk to the beach/pier/shops/bars and restaurants.

The Staff were very welcoming and polite. If you want a no frills stay with easy going accommodation then look no further The room was a good size but very dated. It looked like the hotel had started going through a make over and stopped half way through. One of the windows didnt close properly and had cobwebs all round it. The guttering leaked and made an awful noise through out the night and a small leak appeared in the roof in the morning. Luckily it was no where near the bed or dressing area.

Me and a friend came to the grand hotel for a weekend away, we both work very busy jobs and never have time to just relax. We was able to chill in the day time, Party at night and they even provided us great food to recover in the morning.

The owners greeted us as we arrived and made us feel very welcome from the start, our room was on the second floor with a very large bay window which had sea views, the room was clean and with good decor, and the bed was very comfy with nice white linen. The bathroom had fluffy white towels and even the toilet rolls had daisies on them and a box of tissues provided in the room, its the little things that make a stay special At breakfast the room was well set out with a selection of cereals, juices and fruit, hot tea was served and we had a buffet style hot breakfast to choice from which was good for me being a vegetarian I could choose what I wanted with out making a fuss. All the food was tasty, hot and being able to eat our fill was excellent. My husband a meat eater commented on the bacon and sausage being very nice and cooked just right. Roger and Shirley the owners where relaxed and always on hand for guests if they had questions, they made us feel like we had been their guest many times before although this was our first visit to the hotel. All in all we had a lovely weekend and will stay at The Grand again

The hotel was located right on the seafront, which was very nice as we had a lovely sea view and the town centre was only 200 yards away. There are some good walks, which you can walk for miles along the beach. We had one of the rooms on the top floor which was better for the views, and there are chair lifts if you are not so good on your feet. And parking was free to the rear of the hotel. And to finishes of they do a great breakfast eat to you drop. Maybe need to bring there prices down a little at winter as a lot of the hotels near them had offers on which made them a fair bit cheaper.

Very freindly staff, good breakfast choice and plenty of it. Room cold on arrival no radiators were on turned off at taps, a bit planning in advance of guest arriving would have helped.

A welcoming hotel. Outstanding location right on the sea front, very close to all amenities. The standard rooms have plain decor but are clean. The upgraded rooms are well worth the extra cost. We moved to Room 21 which was fantastic - overlooks the sea with its own private balcony. Room was on the small side but had contemporary decor and is a lovely room for a short stay. Hotel staff are attentive but discreet. Hotel has a bar and breakfast is plentiful in a buffet style. Very pleasant stay. Quite a trek up to the higher floors by stairs. No lift. There is a stair lift for elderly people to use.

The hotel was in an ideal location and we had a sea view, although i would have prefered the top floor for a better one due to the trees on the embankment. The price was excellent and breakfast was very good. I did feel it was a little dated and could do with more modern furniture but it was very clean and the hotel staff ( although i saw only two) were very friendly. Would stay again but would like the top floor and access to the balcony.
