Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It features 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.

Food was dreadful especially our meal in the restaurant on Sunday night. Definitely warmed up from lunch time.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable room. Lovely breakfast. My husband and i had a romantic night away here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. would definitely stay again.
Great Sea view, nice breakfast, very friendly staff. Very relaxing and quiet.
location ambience of reception and lounge area.
Nice and warm open fires in the main lounge. Good conservatory for sitting an watching the view. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice range.
Small single room size, but not a complaint really, just reality. Very clean though.
We asked for a twin room with a sea view and the view was breath taking
We booked to stay friday and saturday night. There was a private function in the hotel on the Saturday night so we couldn't use any facilities downstairs. Eg the sitting room/conservatory or the bar for an evening drink/ nightcap. We weren't informed about this private function until we checked in.
The welcome, the open fire to read a book beside, good bars, lovely conservatory, view to die for over towards the Isle of Wight, waking up to the sound of the sea, stylish restaurant with excellent, friendly service, superb breakfast......
It is a bit out of the centre of town, but we liked that... it was an easy and pleasant walk along the promenade or beach to the theatre, shops, resaurants, and of course station with steam trains for Corfe Castle.
We love the location, that is why we returned. Tasty lunch with unbeatable view.
Bed and pillow very soft, woke up with serious neck pain. Jakuzzi and pool was out of order again, might be our bad luck, as one of the waiters put it.
Sense of history, location, best views in Swanage, table tennis table!
Pool was closed! Bit stuffy
The ambience was very good, table linen excellent, one or the two beds was very good (see dislikes) and the food quality was very good.
One of the beds was noisy and needed replacement. The cleaning person didn't touch the bathroom...very bad. The lift felt insecure and needs modernising.
Rooms available with a superb view of the sea Comfortable room Nice to have gym facility Nice walk into the town
Great location, great staff and friendly service. Also, good bar menu so we had a choice between the restaurant and bar.
The powdered scrambled eggs for breakfast! Have fried or boiled! Apart from that everything was great.
Friendly staff Clean Good location This is an old style sea-side hotel so expect a few 'old-style' facilities. The gym area is massive for a hotel and even has a small indoor pool.
Poor WiFi Lack of off-street parking but there is not much the hotel can do about this
Relax and friendly atmosphere
We had a pleasant mid week break at the Grand Hotel. The location and views are outstanding and the hotel has an old world charm. Staff were friendly and we had a comfortable room.
The wifi is very poor and you have to be in the lounge downstairs to get any sort of connection. In this day and age , there should be good reception in each room.
Staff attitudes and friendliness, location.
Meals were adequate but should be improved for a hotel of this quality. Menu items as described not delivered to the plate. Needs addressing by Management as it marred what was otherwise a very pleasant stay.
Staff - friendly, helpful, polite (from the reception, to the bar, to the housekeeping staff - all made us feel very welcome). Views - looking out on the seafront is excellent. Location - near to the town centre but quiet. Room - clean and well equipped.
WiFi signal was acceptable but not great.
views where lovely from room and dining room, access to the beach was good. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Sea view wonderful Breakfast good Staff we found very helpful Very relaxed atmosphere
Minimum parking Hotel seemed tired and worn Low level of staff available Bedroom furniture looked distressed
Good breakfast staff very friendly and helpful
This is the second time I have stayed at the Grand Hotel and I was fortunate to have sunny weather on both occasions. The view from the bar/veranda takes your breath away - a great place to sit and have a drink while admiring the sailing boats and the almost Mediterranean sweep of the bay. The whole building is indeed very 'grand' and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. They appear to enjoy their job and get on with each other well which is important for a happy clientele. The rooms are comfortable and not overpriced. The location is superb on top of the cliff at the quieter end of the town and there is walk way straight down to the sand which is most convenient and ideal for a walk before or after breakfast - my daughter went jogging last year. But then she is from California. Can't wait to go back - to Swanage!
Breakfast. good shower, clean. nice friendly staff. views
Cost, room temperature very cold heeting was not on when I arrived, dinner too expensive for quality and quantity of food, not enough vegetable dishes offered, not enough soup dishes available could not connect to wifi. TV, quality of mattress poor.
Room 309 has sloping ceilings both sides of the double bed so, if you're not careful you keep banging your head getting in and out. No problem with the bathroom, it's almost the same size as the room.
LOTS OF THINGS MOSTLY THE VIEW, FOOD WAS GREAT AND VERY GOOD VALUE. STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDY , IREEN WAS A LOVELY LADY . GREAT LOCATION. CLEAN, TIDY , WELCOMING.
FOUND THE ROOM TO BE A BIT HOT , TEA AND COFFE WAS NOT REPLACED WHEN ROOM WAS CLEANED . DID ASK FOR SOME AND RECEPTION WERE FINE AND GAVE THEM TO US , IT WAS RESOLVED STRASIGHT AWAY. REALLY NOTHING WASNT TO DISLIKE.
