Very good breakfast, loved the bacon & mushrooms.
Breakfast was nice as so was the waitress
I don't know where to start, booking is listed as between 2-9, I phoned at 4pm to say I would be booking in late, I was told "don't make it too last, we go home at 6 but I will leave the keys under the reception desk." I arrived at 7pm the was nobody about so I picked up the keys and left my disabled college in the car and went looking for the ground floor room for him and I could not find anything. An Indian pulled out from the Indian restaurant that was attached and said "can I help you?" I explained to him and he said "the disabled is in an annex attached". I got my disabled college who by now was shivering in the freezing cold, I eventually got to open the door to find a very nice very fully equipped for a disabled person. A freezing cold room. The heating was not connected. I settled him in the room and went off to find my room, upstairs in the hotel whilst carrying bags etc I opened the door and fell down the stairs, the door was still open and I could see a small sign saying "beware of step". I went to shut the door and noticed that the fuse box with no cover was adjacent to my door. There were two steps down, not one and not knowing where the light switch was is the reason I fell down the second step. I needed by now to relieve myself so I went to the en suite up two steps only to bang my head violently on the ceiling beam. I spent 20mins trying to figure out the very old television set and gave up. I tried to log in on the computer but there was no signal, no password, so I took my laptop down where I met the Indian again who pointed to the wall which had the passwords for the routers printed on it. I went back to my room only to find that there was no signal in my room, I returned to the lounge/bar and saw that I had signal so thought I would have a drink, the Indian came in and said "bar closed" it was now half past 8.
The Indian Hotel attatched to The Grange was easily accessable anf the food was excellent best Keema Nan ever!! Very relaxed atmosphere in hotel with easy check in and breakfast times to suit most people. Breakfast ok help your self to coffee/tea and juice make own toast good choice of breakfast cooked or cereals. Great location for Bristol and Bath bus stop right outside the door with buses eavery 20 mins or so and train station about 10 mins walk ideal location to go to Bath Xmas markets which were lovely
Hotel single bedroom 44 very run down cracked tiles in bathroom, window didnt work and it was red hot . Right next to stairwell and could hear all guests coming and going and cleaners setting up on monday morning 5:45 am opening and closing drawers numerous times could not sleep. Tables in breakfast room always had crumbs on like had not been cleared away properly. Young girls waiting on no effort made really. Party going on sat night with disco etc no way could sleep might as well have gone and joined in no warning of this glad no early start morning after. In general needs an overhaul very dated and tierd decor for the price paid for a single room. Not much in the area to eat out unless went to local pubs.
Breakfast is very good,
shower door opens inwards, shower does not have enough pressure.
Bedrooms are spotless and bathroom in room 42 is lovely. Breakfast is very good and plenty. Have stayed a few times at this hotel and always the same quick service at breakfast. Indian restaurant attached is very good and although we arrived late (11.00pm) due to M6 & M5 closed waiters in restaurant were very helpful (better than hotel staff following evening) but thats another story.
Arrived back at hotel 11.20pm after visiting family for the day with son and daughter in law who were also staying at the Grange. No staff available in hotel what so ever to get my sons room key. Despite many phone calls to so called emergency contact numbers no staff answered or appeared. Restaurant staff tried as well to no avail. Son and daughter in law took cushions off sofas in lounge and slept on our bed room floor. Hopefully this has now been rectified by management and we are staying with them again at Xmas (watch this space). To their credit my son was refunded.
It was in a handy position for my visit, the bad was comfy and I did sleep well, staff were pleasant.
room was way too hot, towel rail so hot it could burn someone, floors creak badly, room small not helped by huge old TV. I walked through the kitchen staff who were outside during breakfast time smoking, chef and waitresses, this is poor and not s good health advert for the hotel and puts me off returning.
Rooms were well kitted out, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful
My friend was over from Los Angeles and usually stays in a Premier Inn or similar. All local were fully booked so I opted for the Grange, so very glad I did, as she loved it. Cosy, friendly, excellent breakfast, in other words everything she loves about the UK. She visits every year so will be back in 2015.
A telephone in the room would be a bonus.
The room was quite large and had a settee (even if it sagged a bit!). Really helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Not much traffic noise. Plus an excellent Indian restaurant attached. If you are planning a leisure trip to include both Bristol and Bath, it's very convenient and on the bus route.
I enjoyed the way they enjoyed seeing the dog and the helpful way they told me about good places to take my dog and any places not to go which could be problematic. The Breakfast was fabulous and the Indian Cuisine in the restaurant and the food was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The banging of doors, this did not last all night, and we did wedge some cardboard in our door to stop it banging. Problem solved.
Wanting a good quiet restful 1 night stopover, with very good breakfast, we were more than satisfied. Very handy for reaching the West coast to. If that way again, we shall certainly give you a call. many thanks...
Perhaps a bigger car parking area. a lift for the luggage would be handy.
Suited us for location. Free parking. Good breakfast.
No-one on reception when we arrived. Had to find someone to give us the key to our room. Stairs!!!
If you're a businessman looking for a reasonable hotel then this is it. Staff friendly and service good. Breakfast was very good. A lovely meal at the attached Indian restaurant.
Room was too near the road for our liking; too much traffic noise and light pollution.
good size room, large tv, large bathroom, breakfast excellent.
the distance from south mead hospital it was too far should say how far away from places. beds were sort of comfortable but pillows were not, and the floor creeked like hell.
Liked on site restaurant. Staff were nice Room clean Breakfast nice
Hotel is a b&b really. Very clean but very dated worn and threadbare everywhere Room stifling hot with windows open. There is some sort of heat coming through bathroom Walls making room uncomfortable Thought it was going to be lovely for £75
The dogs were made very welcome and the hotel even provided a sofa with a cover for them to sleep on. The curry was fab and the breakfast was lovely and plenty of it.
Nowhere near the hotel to walk the dogs apart from a park 5 mins away it this was a minor issue
Staff were very helpful & nice - breakfast was surprisingly good considering it was included in the price. GREAT Indian restaurant attached.
Nice clean tidy place to stay, staff were polite and helpful. Bonus was a curry house next door which served good quality food. Overall i'd rate this as good value for money and i would stay again.
Parking when i arrived was a bit of an issue. Had to go and move my car late at night to ensure i could get out early morning.
Interesting looking Indian Restaurant on site. Unfortunately, we'd already booked to eat elsewhere. Clean comfy and good breakfast.
size of rooms convenience of restauant
not as close to town centre Bacon in breakfast to thick and chewy, "brown"bread a bit cardboard ish, l prefer fresh made granary.
Fantastic room - top floor room was likened to 5* Indian Cuisine downstairs was beautiful - wide variety menu Receptionist was very welcoming on arrival - very helpful, polite & friendly
Parking arrangements could potentially be tricky if arriving late.
Pleasant room could do with a refurbish bit dated. Very nice Staff especially the young lady who served breakfast
No complaints although parking can be difficult
Location was convenient. Breakfast was OK.
Room 44 was hot and with window open there was strong smell of curry from the restaurant wafting into my room. The window sash was broken and as far it was either open or shut. I then had a poor night's sleep - noisy interruptions in the corridor and a room with loud telly on over the way until early hours.
Breakfast large bathroom and location
Not enough car parking, bit noisey as on main road
No fuss Check in/out. Friendly Staff, clean comfortable accommodation.
Weather was very warm and the duvet was not suited to it in that it was too heavy - would have liked a top sheet for this reason.
