With a beautiful cliff top location, The Clifton boasts views over Sandown Bay from its conservatory lounge and garden. Leading onto Keats's Green, it has a bistro that uses local produce in its menu....

Beautiful building, friendly staff, secure parking, very informal but room needed a bit of updating as it was tired looking in the en suite but on the whole it was lovely will definitely go back
En suite was a bit grubby and needs updating, but apart from that it was lovely
The staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was very good. The communial areas were lovely. The location of the Grange was very good, within walking distance of Shanklin High Street and restaurants and shops.
The room was very small and decoration was very tired. The bathroom needed work done on it. The paint was peeling off the ceiling and there was dirt and mould ground in on the fixtures and wasn't cleared with cleaning. The toilet had lime scale in the pan making it look dirty. The shower was very weak.
We stayed just one night at The Grange, but wished it was longer! Beautiful location, quiet yet just a couple of minutes walk into town and the old village. Multiple eateries, shops and cafés are a stone throw away. Recommend twin rooms on top floor, rooms 13 and 14 for a superb view over the tree line! Loved the honesty bar which was well stocked, also the availability of tea and coffee 24/7 in the public area. We didn't need to ask for anything! Breakfast was faultless. The kids loved their Labrador, they wanted to take him home!
The staff were lovely - very helpful & informative - beautiful building inside - location not far from anything
Mushrooms were cold on my breakfast but apart from that a lovely place to stay
Convenient location, good breakfast and very friendly. Tea/coffee available all through the day and cake in the afternoons
Our room was rather small and was tired, it had a super king size bed which creaked every time you moved and there was also a single bed in the room, only one chair and no dressing table or shelf to put your makeup on, good hairdryer in the wardrobe but the mirror on the inside of the wardrobe door was too low and you had to stoop to see in it
Garden, bright breakfast room, honesty bar, cozy sitting room, overall atmosphere.
Our room was a bit small.
Location excellent for local restaurants, shops and beach Availability of tea, coffee and cake all day Good breakfast Lovely garden
Bathroom needs updating
Close to the beach, excellent view, garden, and the breakfast was real full English breakfast.
For the daily price for 2, The rooms should have had wifi accessibility. However, not a big deal as I had my own mobile broadband gadget.
The atmosphere and facilities were very relaxing . Giving you the independence to chill out with non obtrusiveness in your stay. Lovely helpful staff and service and with a good selection of breakfast choices. Food cooked very well.
Art work on walls not to everyone's taste! . My en-suite was a little tired but clean. Rooms didn't really reflect the beautiful interior downstairs to the plainness in my upstairs room. Saying that I would come again as it didn't affect my nice stay.
Good location, great views, fairly quiet, interesting architecture
small carpark, difficult to park a non-compact car, medieval and tiny tv, no channel 5 sound, limited channels, small bathroom, ancient shower, a human hair on the basin
bedroom very small and my window opened out onto a courtyard of another room
This is a large house that is full of character and charm. It has a beautiful garden that is so peaceful. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection. The location is in the centre of Shanklin old village.
The car park is far too small.
The quiet location and lovely view
Slight pong with drainage in en suite
Everything really; but perhaps it is the genuine care and attention to detail which is not apparent on the surface because the hotel has a really relaxed and easy going feel to it. It does feel like home, only without the need to do any work!!
Nothing, we were here last year and loved it. That's why we came back.
Lots of character. Very comfortable. Service excellent. Good food. Stunning gardens. Relaxing.
Could have been provided with a fan in the room earlier as room very warm. Would have appreciated a bath robe after showering
The place has a unique feeling about it and you relax as son as you arrive. The facilities are really good with all the staff being very welcoming and helpful..nothing is too much trouble you just put your feet up and relax
Didn't stay long enough!!!
Good variety for breakfast. Comfortable bed. Spa treatments excellent.
Wall to wall carpeting in the bedroom.
Location, peaceful, such a good house with lots of character. Wonderful gardens
Would like to have more choice for breakfast menu i.e. Black pudding, hash browns. Shower room a little cramped
Friendly staff beautiful grounds and hotel Going back next year Truly a hidden treasure
Think could have flat screen tv
The place was really perfect to relax and bonus with dog so friendly to all and never a problem to customers lovely Sunday break kite with smoke salmon champagne what more can you ask for just fab thank you
Every thing was so good no problems to report Would recommend to all my friends and family ,
Friendly and hospitable staff. Nothing was too much for them. Easy going atmosphere.
Wash hand basin in bathroom was far too small to be used other than washing hands.
quiet location, secluded garden, honesty bar, breakfast
very creaky bed, torn duvet cover, double glazing full of condensation, room and bathroom badly needed updating and a good clean, shower inconsistent in temperature, no table or shelves to put anything on, very old television, no full length mirror
liked the breakfast and liked the garden quiet place to sleep lighting in the bedroom was good.sarah was very friendly to talk to.dennis and Belinda from Hampshire.
when we arrived at the hotel my partner stood behind me and a couple was watching the tv a rude man said get your head out of the way as iam watching tv this upset us as we just arrived at the hotel he never used hes manners to say please could you move also we asked for a double room the owner put us in a twin room the room was high up as there is no lifts the bathroom door handle came off and the pillow slips where not very clean was a bit disappointed with the room would of liked not so high up as stairs to climb. also the handle on the window made a lot of noise in the night could not get to sleep mattress was a bit hard also carpet needed a clean.would of been nice if they had done evening meals as well would get a lot more people in.
Excellent Room...Very comfortable bed...Great Shower and Breakfast. Excellent location, very lovely village.
I needed to plan. Ideal location and HOTEL facilities. Probably call again. BP.
Small point, would have preferred breakfast earlier than 8am.
