The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was good with ample choice and generous portions. The bathroom smelt of drains.

The ambience of the hotel and surrounding area. Our daughter was thrilled with the Indian Head Massage; especially as she was able to walk through the garden and back to her delightful room for a zizz! The staff were most helpful staff and sang 'Happy Birthday' when presenting a cake to the 'Birthday Girl' at breakfast - a lovely surprise and much appreciated. That your photograph of The Grange showed a thatched building. This was very misleading as this quaint, olde worlde hotel was the initial reason for making the booking. (It is, in fact, a pub in Shanklin Village?)

It was friendly and the rooms were large. The shower was the best. You could alsways get a drink and biscuit with out going up to the room. I felt that if the Hotel was full they would not cope at breakfast time.

Comfortable and friendly in a quiet location. Beautiful decor, very well maintained. Close to cliffs and beach plus great dining nearby. Also great were the red squirrels seen locally. We are very likely to stay at The Grange again. Nothing to dislike. A lovely place to stay.

The location (nearest to Shanklin Theatre) was most important in choosing The Grange. Not a complaint but I should of asked for a down-stairs room, idealy with a bath and not a shower.

We stayed at the Grange last year and found it very convenient for beach and shops/restaurants. It was the only hotel we consider this year and we again found it very good.

The overall atmosphere was of tasteful serenity. The few staff were both friendly and efficient. The owner, who we met several times in passing, had put much of his love of the arts throughout the rooms and garden which all lent to the ethos of this charming place. The location was ideal as, turn left for the sea and right for shops and restaurants and buses and walks. The ensuite bathroom could have been a little bigger. It may be time to renew the mattresses (a little creaky).

Public area very stylish, good breakfasts I was given a small poky room with an old fashioned bathroom, although it does seem some of the rooms are better equipped. The main problem though is the parking - about seven places for guests for sixteen rooms!

my husband and i stayed during august bank holiday, the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The breakfast was wonderful! soooo much choice and the lovely lady in the kitchen was more than happy to cook other options on request (our breakfast kept us full until the evening!)The location is brilliant, some great local pubs/restaurants,very tranquil setting. Our room was very clean and well maintained. This is the second time we have stayed here and would recommend it to others.Coffee and biscuits available all day (help yourself),very homely feel. The dining room was very well presented and very clean as was the rest of the hotel.A lovely place to stay! The only thing that was difficult was the lack of parking space during busy times, although this is mentioned by the hotel,we stayed during the bank holiday when the 'scooter rally' was on and this sometimes posed a problem with parking. There is a local car park at the bottom of the garden,i believe you have to pay for this.

A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at The Grange. The atmosphere was welcoming, friendly and relaxed. The old building was interesting and slightly quirky (in a good way) and the garden was lovely. Our room had a sea view and despite being in the 'attic' was light and airy. It was not very large but was fine, with no feeling of being overcrowded. Breakfast was very good and the day-long availability of tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit was very considerate. Staff were very helpful and appeared not to mind being pestered for information (because the IoW council has stupidly and shortsightedly closed down all of its information centres). A small niggle - we were hoping to have a massage but no one was available - our fault for not realising that somewhere like the Isle of Wight has a limited supply of therapists. However, had we managed to get a massage we would have been a bit dubious about the chalets in the garden where massages take place as they were rather basic and seemed a bit neglected.
