Convenient central location. Reasonably quiet despite being positioned in the centre of town and it being Friday night. Pleasant service in the bar.
Had to go looking for kitchen staff to tell them that we were down for breakfast. Not a major problem but should have been avoided.
Comfortable bed Plenty of hot water Good parking Good location
We booked a twin room but got a family room with bunk beds taking up most of the spare space . The breakfast was a nightmare we sat for over 20 minutes after our order was taken , not even our tea or coffee arrive. The room could do with a good deep clean .i would not recommend this Hotel which is just really a pub with rooms .
Friendly staff and really clean room
Seems to me the B&B business isn't taken seriously. Either improve the service substantially or close it
Friendliness of the staff. Big bathroom. Really good shower. Good value for money. Tea and coffee making facilities. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will return!
Friendly family owners Room quality Location Price
Bed slats loose No DVD player in Room 10
The room was small but clean with decent bedding. We arrived late as the the pub was closing so noise wasn't an issue. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on food. Value for money and a good location
Nice relaxed atmosphere
TV/DVD not working, despite reporting it
it looked a bit tired, needs updating, didn't have the beer I liked, so had to go to the pub down the road
Lack of good lighting.
Very good location
The Windows didn't fit so rattled when it was windy.
the staff were helpful and friendly. Location good near to motorway.
the mattress on the bed was poor quality, very uncomfortable. Not much choice for breakfast, no fresh fruit etc. difficult to enter hotel as the desk not manned you need to ring a number, difficult if you don't have English phone. You need to leave your key every time you leave the hotel.
The breakfast was 8 out of 10 bed linen clean but little else I can say positive.
I Asked duty manager/barman where the rooms were on the second floor and he replied 'I have only worked here for two months and i have not been on the second floor....up the stairs' Cold, no lights on most of the time in the hotel public areas. Rooms need refitting. The room smelt and the bed was so uncomfortable. I could go on but ill leave it at that. P.S Don't lean on the bar you will get stuck to it.
freshly cooked breakfast
no coffee pot at breakfast ...
Great central location
The Venetian Restaurant across the road!
Room, on the surface was clean, but carpet did not appear to have been cleaned in some time. Outside our room was a skylight laden with cobwebs. Bathroom was ok, but only 2/3 roll of toilet paper. Breakfast was a hoot, met by a 7yr old Maitre'd (Harley), Grand-dad was the chef and black pudding that was served had only a passing acquaintance with a warm frying pan! Cereal available, but no bowls (which subsequently arrived when requested) and then no spoons! Oh, and reception had a pervading scent of old cooking oil!
Bed was comfortable and room was clean
Lot of noise from street outside. Couldn't lock bathroom door as it was a concertina style door so not much privacy for a family room
Hotel is very dated but you can see they are trying to make improvements and as I think it's a family run business you can see they are doing their best. The staff were very helpful and friendly espcially as we had to wake them up at 2am to let us in(which wasn't a problem). The room had tea, coffee facilities with biscuits, the bath and hand towels which looked quite new, the bed was very comfortable we had a good night sleep! Carpets were stained but they were clean and the bathroom was very clean and supplied soap, shower gel and shampoo which was great as I'd forgotten ours. Breakfast was served til 10 and was a very good full English I was very impressed there was also cold options. If you are looking for value for money then I would recommend.
staff very helpfull great breakfast,
only complaint shower did not work properly.
Being close to steam railway, pubs & restaurants. Free parking. Good TV reception.
No chair in my single room. Reception was usually unmanned.
Easy access to steam railway and pubs & restaurants of Ramsbottom. Free parking.
A shame that Reception is usually unoccupied. Single room was great but a chair would have made it even better.
Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was good & substantial.
Rooms were small, some of the lights didn't work, the beds weren't particularly comfy, the extractor fan in the bathroom worked intermittently and squawked like a trapped bird whilst it was straining to get going.
Ramsbottom is a great lads weekend destination
