Good food and friendly staff. I had reserved a twin room but on arrival was shown to a double. When this was pointed out we were immediately changed to a twin room with no problem at all. My very elderly mother would have liked a hand rail for the steps going up to our room. I had to help her up and down each time we vacated our room. This is a feature that would make going in and out of the outside rooms safer for the young, elderly or more infirm guests.

Attention to detail -in the restaurant, rooms and interiors. Friendly & helpful staff. Together these made the stay enjoyable, despite it being for only 1 night. We liked the opportunity to choose from 2 menus for dinner. Nothing we enjoyed our short stay

Extremely relaxed atmosphere and all the staff were extremely hospitable. It's the best our baby and us have slept whilst away from home! Would definitely stay there again if we were in the area! There was nothing to dislike.

Everything about the hotel says 4 star, and am quite surprised it is only classed as 3. The room and facilities were very good, as was the breakfast and dinner food, would certainly stay again

Restaurant dining (at night) is superb. The young lady who welcomed us on arrival was extremely helpful and friendly as were the young restaurant waitresses. We weren't accomodated in the Great House which was very disappointing. This was not consistent with what we had booked (we certainly weren't advised our room would be outside of the main buidling) Breakfast was very ordinary compared to evening dining and staff not particularly friendly. The restaurant was closed on our second night - we chose this hotel because it had a restaurant with a great reputation so this was very disappointing. We tried to get some laundry done but it was overlooked which was very inconvenient as we are travelling for six weeks and don't have much opportunity for washing!

Beautiful ancient building, excellent large room, all the facilities were good. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was top notch, especially the laverbread. Should be far higher than 3 stars but apparently missed out due to lack of lift (and the building is only 2 storeys!).

Delightful cosy historic building lovingly renovated by the owners with well chosen furnishings. Staff manage to be both well presented and attentive but relaxed and friendly Very good food excellenty presented Suprised to find a heritage coastline only 4 miles away One of the best hotels I've stayed at Only slight thing is the road is next to the hotel but passing traffic was light so it wasn't a significant problem or disturb our sleep and we will happily return - as we now have relatives in the area

Really lovely welcome from Samara. Upgraded to a very pleasant suite - comfortable, nice smellies. Excellent food. Short drive to beautiful Ogmore valley & Candleston Dunes. Interesting old house, beautifully and sensitively restored. Immediate surrounding area quite urban .. grounds smaller than they appear on the 'blurb' - and, very small point, no hooks in bathroom for robes/washbag.
