Wifi didn't work
The room was spacious with its mock 4 poster bed. The location was across from the public house/restaurant part of the property up stairs and above some covered parking. A quiet location and in a pretty little village far enough out of Hull but not too far to access the City. Walking on the wolds within easy reach - take good walking bots or wellies.
Stairs up to bedroom with strong fire door at base that meant manipulating a large case was 'interesting'. Location of outside smoking area - a hut that looked like a bus shelter, if a little more aesthetic in wood - meant some noise when (mainly) young group clustered around and in it. Position of TV in room meant impossible to lie on left side of bed while watching - had to sit in the comfy chairs provided. Seeing milk bottle and cartons on breakfast buffet table - please, decant! - on second day of stay.
Very friendly staff at check in and breakfast and check out good facilities ie tea coffee kettle etc and bottles of water by bed wide choice for breakfast even the fried bread that wasn't on the menu. lovely location clean comfortable bed and fluffy towels and a good shower!
Car park scattered with cigerette dimps and bins untidy and staff area untidy only a minor issue and it was minus 2 that morning which we notice whilst waiting for our lift.
Size of room
Heating was poor
everything about the accommodation, the staff, the beer and the fact that guests got 20%off the evening menu
thought that evening food menu was adequate.
Would stay again
Location - convenient for Hull, good range of beers. Staff were friendly and efficient
Food was truly awful, with the starter still being frozen and the chips served with the main course were reheated from a week before
Real Ale well served Comfortable room
Orange juice at breakfast
Super comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, free wi-fi, lively pub with an extensive menu and plenty of tables/seating right next door. Great cooked breakfast, speedy service, very reasonably priced.
Sound-proofing not great, witness a bit of disturbance when the family occupying the room above returned some time after we had gone to bed. Evening meal was a bit of a disappointment (steak and ale pie more pastry than filling!).
The staff were all fantastic . Matthew and Paul in particular , very polite , caring and very Proffesional.
Food needs improvement
Friendly, lovely rooms
Bin in bathroom hadn't been emptied
Really liked the people and the location. Would rate this excellent if a few small issues were dealt with in the bathroom.
These bathroom issues were not serious enough to be a problem and so we did not mention them to the very helpful staff as we were only staying three nights.
Obliging friendly staff
Piped music at breakfast!
Very comfortable room - great night's sleep. Good breakfast, staff very friendly and efficient - good location. Great value for money.
In a pretty little village just outside hull. Close to A. Rooms detached from the pub, lovely decor. Would definitely stay here again.
The room was very warm on arrival, but better too warm than cold I suppose. I didn't like the fact that the main door was left unlocked, all residents have a key so there's no need.
Located in lovely area. Staff really friendly. Room very clean and with all mod cons
Wi fi a bit dodgy on the day
Situation in very pretty village. bedrooms separated from the pub itself. Staff very helpful and friendly. I always appreciate an ensuite with a bath, rather than just a shower. Good selection of evening meals, reasonably priced.
Design of bath meant that shower screen could not be swung away from the bath, therefore in order to turn on the taps had to get into the bath first, but a very minor irritation. Nothing to stop me making a return booking.
A self contained room at the back of the pub...quiet, and comfortable..with everything you would need...television..hairdryer..ironing board and iron...and kettle tea and coffee..just perfect...with a good bathroom...with decent lighting and magnifying mirror for make up..and shaving.
Good pub friendly locals and to top it off very good live duo playing the night away I was made very welcome by staff and locals Food was good as well music was top notch . I will be staying again in a few months time !best bed apart from my own.
No wi fi in room but I'm just being picky now ! if there was I would of missed all the good points listed If you are a tech head teetotaller it's not for you if your normal ! book it .
We were walking The Wolds Way and this hotel was on the route - no extra miles at the end of the day.
Excellent Wi-Fi, very comfortable bed.
The walls were so thin you could hear the person in the room above talking. The windows were so thin you could hear every noise outside (not good in a pub.) Breakfast was undercooked, greasy and tasteless.
Comfortable room Free wifi Good breakfast Friendly staff
Superb food and accomodation
Visited for the night due to a wedding at cave castle .. Was a lovely spacious room very comfortable everything you could ask for was thought about...very helpful staff polite and pleasant..would re visit if need be..
Nothing!!! It was lovely....thanks
Welcoming, clean, comfortable inn. Good dinner choice. Good breakfast.
Slow Wifi. Lighting in bedroom could have been brighter to compensate for lack of natural light.
