Nestled in the quiet Wiltshire village of Upton Scudamore, The Angel Inn is a beautifully restored 16th century coaching inn.

The traditionally furnished, individual rooms at this hotel are housed in a striking late-Victorian era country house set on 8 acres of beautiful grounds.

Comfortable country style room with quality bedding. Despite being close to the High St. it was very quiet. Very nice breakfast. Planning permission has been granted for the development of new accomadation sometime in the near future.
The bed was not the most comfortable however we have experienced worse.
Excellent facilities, even a sitting room for guests. Charming old building. Plenty of fresh towels and hot drinks sachets. Low level of noise from the bar ceased about 11:00pm so no problems getting to sleep. Excellent food. Friendly and helpful staff. What more could you want?
A friendly welcome and a very comfortable room with a good"large single"bed. Breakfast was excellent with a very good selection of food.
Most of the staff were friendly. Breakfast very good and service excellent at breakfast time.
Some things quite shabby for example the black spots on the net curtains and black damp around the window frames in the bathroom. Waited to be served a long time in the dining room at dinner time.
The Green Dragon is without doubt the most comfortable place I have stayed in. The room was top class, the food outstanding and the hospitality from Nikki and Steve( not to mention the customers I met) without comparison! 3 days was not enough, I am going back as soon as I can.
This was our first place we stayed at on our UK holiday, and it was exactly what we hoped for: We weren't looking for a 4 star place, but a place with character that reflected the true nature of rural England. We took tons of pictures of this place, and we have very very fond memories. The town itself was lovely to walk around (very small) and close to Avebury, which was important to us. Food was fantastic. The pub was perfect (and quiet). Good parking compared to many places we stayed at.
Very steep stairs to go up, which we did not mind at all. If you have mobility issues, this could be challenging. However, we found most inns and B&Bs in the UK to be similiar.
I'd recommend this B&B but it's really off the beaten path, and for seasoned travelers only. We enjoyed the whole experience especially karaoke night. The breakfasts were also wonderful. the food so fresh. We had a great time.!!!
The hotel is right on the street, so a little noisy at night, but that's about it!!!
Friendly people;but not value for money, room very dated uncomfortable and tiny bed, the room had character but needs updating badly ,..good towels though but not enough hot water for a full bath, stuffy and dark room.
Left at 2 am after burglar alarm had been ringing for over 1 1/2 hours and then the fire brigade turned up. All without the knowledge of the owners
Food and accommodation were very good and staff helpful
NOT disabled friendly. This is an old pub, which obviously makes it very difficult to make everything disabled friendly. To get to the bedrooms you have to climb some very steep stairs, I managed it but anyone with more severe disablement problems would not be able to stay there. I did think the bar prices were rather high.
Location, ambiance, owners, breakfast with quality ingredients (incl. lovely sausages form the butcher next door). All good.
Price wasn't correct
The beer, wine and food. The beer garden is lovely. It is pet friendly. The couple who run it are very pleasant.Great breakfast.
Nothing to not like.
As ever, a lovely stay here in this traditional pub-with-accommodation; once again I was very well looked after: thanks! Large single room is very comfy, & the Wi-fi works in all areas of the premises (including in the room!)
Traditional pub Wonderful Off beaten tracks
As ever, this old-fashioned inn provides cozy accommodation. Restaurant is super too… thanks for looking after me!
Ambiance, food, pub setting, relaxed
Comfortable bed, near where we had to be the following morning. Good breakfast selection.
No welcome from the landlord on our arrival as we stood at the bar checking in with a member of his staff, as the locals stared at us.Needs updating for the price charged. Stairway smells of dogs. The door to our room was in the corner of the residents lounge. Luckily no one used it while we were in our room.
Staff were helpful and friendly, accommodation was excellent and the restaurant food was some of the best I've had. Value for money in every way.
Good food, and great to be able to use a bike provided by the GD!
Not en-suite, but had exclusive use of the bathroom and loo, which were adjacent to my room.
Room was very spacious
Didn't do the breakfast justice unfortunately, but will be back in June
Food and beer where good staff where Very Freindly and helpful bed was comftable and the room was clean. Nice touch with bottled water and homemade biscuets & fudge in room which forgot to pinch :-( a nice pleasent over night stay my only issue was the wi-fi also could not get telephone signal which made this more of a problem
Could not get wi-fi in my room
Absolutely suited my needs at the time
nothing to dislike
Staff very helpful
