Attention to details, hand made biscuits in the room, fresh towels x 3 & dressing gown, breakfast (the most important meal of the day) excellent, freshly made to order, great choice or real ales on the bar
Shower was very weak
Staff were so helpful and courteous and breakfast delicious. No one hounded me to pay the bill. Surprisingly comfortable and warm. Thank you
Room was rather cramped and a bit difficult to use a lap top. Floor a bit wavy! But very good value fr money
Everything, great value with a superb brekkie and lovely evening meal Do yourselves a favour and book here!
Loved the homely feel to the Green Dragon. Felt very welcome by the staff, owners And the locals. Food was great and the rooms well set up. Would go back again if in the area.
Quite cozy room. Nice breakfast.
The bath only had hand held shower which wasn't good for my back as had to bend over. So did not get floor wet. No shower curtain. Was first cold day of year and heating wasn't turned on - so cold a lot of the time. Draft coming from attic door. Decor very eighties
Nikki and Steve are great hosts, very personable and helpful. Nikki's food was exceptionally creative, well prepared and plentiful. The room in this 17th century building was charming, the beds comfortable and all very clean. Our toilet and shower for our use only were just outside the room (we knew this ahead of time) were very nice, clean and plenty of hot water. Nikki provides some thick, lovely robes to use if needed. The location in Market Lavington is great for touring the area--Stonehenge, Avebury, Salisbury, Bath, Lacock Village, etc., so why stay in a noisy city? We would stay again in a heartbeat.
There was nothing to dislike!
The staff were all friendly and helpful and the evening meal was pleasant.
Breakfast was awful. Worst I have ever had. Asked for soft fried egg - it was hard and like rubber. Burnt bacon, fried bread, and mushrooms. 5 breakfasts cooked together so ours served last and was cold.
I enjoyed my stay at the Green Dragon. The food and beer were excellent especially the breakfast.I was well looked after.
The busy road the pub was on, however by night time the traffic had virtually stopped and so had no trouble in falling asleep (I am a light sleeper).
Very warm welcome Fantastic food Great real ales Quirky lovely old coaching inn Non perfect corporate clone staff giving more charm to the inn Lots of locals using the place on a Tuesday night = good inn
Only a small one, the very professionally produced menus make the food look like it's from a chain pub and undersells really good tasty food using local produce, the menu style in the rooms just looks more inviting and homely and sells Nickys cooking better (which I thoroughly enjoyed (malteser cheesecake...mmmm))
Quirky & old, good food, friendy, quiet. Excellent Breakfast
wifi a bit slow & not as clean as it could have been.
Nice large clean comfortable bed great selection of hot drinks. In room superb hot breakfast also wide selection of cereals fruit jams etc also hosts Steve and Nicky really nice people really enjoyed our stay at green dragon
No complaints at all
Nice area, staff, and best breakfast at a hotel/B&B.
Comfortable country style room with quality bedding. Despite being close to the High St. it was very quiet. Very nice breakfast. Planning permission has been granted for the development of new accomadation sometime in the near future.
The bed was not the most comfortable however we have experienced worse.
Excellent facilities, even a sitting room for guests. Charming old building. Plenty of fresh towels and hot drinks sachets. Low level of noise from the bar ceased about 11:00pm so no problems getting to sleep. Excellent food. Friendly and helpful staff. What more could you want?
A friendly welcome and a very comfortable room with a good"large single"bed. Breakfast was excellent with a very good selection of food.
Most of the staff were friendly. Breakfast very good and service excellent at breakfast time.
Some things quite shabby for example the black spots on the net curtains and black damp around the window frames in the bathroom. Waited to be served a long time in the dining room at dinner time.
The Green Dragon is without doubt the most comfortable place I have stayed in. The room was top class, the food outstanding and the hospitality from Nikki and Steve( not to mention the customers I met) without comparison! 3 days was not enough, I am going back as soon as I can.
This was our first place we stayed at on our UK holiday, and it was exactly what we hoped for: We weren't looking for a 4 star place, but a place with character that reflected the true nature of rural England. We took tons of pictures of this place, and we have very very fond memories. The town itself was lovely to walk around (very small) and close to Avebury, which was important to us. Food was fantastic. The pub was perfect (and quiet). Good parking compared to many places we stayed at.
Very steep stairs to go up, which we did not mind at all. If you have mobility issues, this could be challenging. However, we found most inns and B&Bs in the UK to be similiar.
I'd recommend this B&B but it's really off the beaten path, and for seasoned travelers only. We enjoyed the whole experience especially karaoke night. The breakfasts were also wonderful. the food so fresh. We had a great time.!!!
The hotel is right on the street, so a little noisy at night, but that's about it!!!
Friendly people;but not value for money, room very dated uncomfortable and tiny bed, the room had character but needs updating badly ,..good towels though but not enough hot water for a full bath, stuffy and dark room.
Left at 2 am after burglar alarm had been ringing for over 1 1/2 hours and then the fire brigade turned up. All without the knowledge of the owners
Food and accommodation were very good and staff helpful
NOT disabled friendly. This is an old pub, which obviously makes it very difficult to make everything disabled friendly. To get to the bedrooms you have to climb some very steep stairs, I managed it but anyone with more severe disablement problems would not be able to stay there. I did think the bar prices were rather high.
Location, ambiance, owners, breakfast with quality ingredients (incl. lovely sausages form the butcher next door). All good.
