That bookings.com forgot to check me in!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't like anything about this hotel except the lovation
This was the dirtiest run down place I ever had the misfortune to stay in. We booked 3 rooms for our party each one was despicable and filthy. The stairs carpet was worn with big holes and very dangerous for an elderly couple we were with. All in all never ever again!
Worn out, tatty accommodation. stained carpets, very poor !!
Service was excellent, very convenient location, good place to have a drink, very good cooked breakfast. Overall I really enjoyed my stay.
The stairs to my room were quite awkward though I got used to that.
Great pub downstairs, excellent breakfast, staff friendly and helpful.
TV didnt work, late night noise, tired fixtures and fittings.
Thread bare carpets, dingy room, no lamp shades, no soap anywhere, channel stuck on one TV channel which was football, lumpy bed, stained carpets.
Friendly staff, good Beer, good food
Rooms off a steep winding staircase. Very worn carpets would be better being removed and just have the boards painted. More of a danger with worn carpets than none at all.
Stair carpet ragged No lighting on top landing No hand drying facility in loo nor soap Wallpaper peeling off ceilings No fire instructions relevant to premises Far too many extension cables and electric plugs etc.Only tv channel available was football ! Overall Very dirty Needs lots of T L C .
Friendly staff and localss
Uncomfortable bed, smelly, shabby, glass in WC. Uncleaned
Although not the end of the world I was disappointed that there was no en suite, the decor could do with an update and in places was quite shabby. My Main problem with this B and B was although there was a tv in my room you could only watch 1 channel and that was the channel being shown downstairs, this was sport and not everyone is into sport, I did ask a member of staff who did nothing about it and were reluctant to help at all
Was dirty shabby definitely needs some tlc wallpaper peeling carpet worn cleanliness a lot to be desired
The pub & obv history of building. Pleasant, relaxed welcome. No parking hassle, v. good breakfast, OJ quality well over expectation almost anywhere in UK
Stair carpet; low lights in room precluded reading; slightly 'lumpy, mattress. The ventilation scenario gave me a blocked nose for 30 hours, not all the hotel's fault
The owner and his lady were very pleasant. We had a first rate breakfast and no waiting. We could walk into Stamford with ease having left the car outside the hotel.
Very steep staircase up to the top floor. I am sure the hotel is a work in progress. At the moment it seems a little down at heel, needing new carpets and paint upstairs. Noisy at night from the busy main road and the 24 hour garage opposite.
the wifi was very good, and thats it!
The thread bare carpet going up the stairs, the stained and dirty carpet in the bedroom...the bed was very uncomfy, like very hard. The room had a very dark feel about it and could really do with some redecorating. Tv had 1 channel which was football and that was it. The toilet had no toilet roll!! The shower was dirty and pretty grubby.
Location was great, close to town centre and amenities. The downstairs bar was good, good atmosphere and plenty of choice of good beers.
Once away from the bar, the Green Man is very disappointing. Threadbare carpets all the way up the stairs, the room felt grubby, as did the bathroom/shower. No toilet paper, which would usually be easily rectified but there were no staff to be found in the morning at all so I had to make my way to the downstairs bar toilets, no lights and not a pleasant experience the morning after what would have been a busy night in the bar. I didn't have high expectations, this being the cheapest place I could find in Stamford, but it seemed like no effort was made at all to make the accommodation comfortable and clean.
The whole place was grotty! From holes in the stair carpet, windows that wouldn't shut, dirty, disgusting carpet (we didn't take our socks off!) - if it hadn't been so late in the evening we would have gone back to the stables and slept in the back of the horsebox- it would have been more pleasant. They also charged me for two adults although my daughter is not an adult - just don't ever go there.
Breakfast Nice atmosphere in pub Friendly staff
Uncomfortable spring mattress
Relatively cheap free off-road parking comfortable bed
hotel in a pub can be noisy if room overlooks road extra charge for breakfast soulless
The bed linen was clean.
Dirty room. Noisy as windows didn't fit properly. Toilet was broken. No light bulb in the bedroom. Bedside lamp had no lampshade. TV didn't work. No light on the very steep stairwell. Chef didn't turn up so no breakfast. 'Free local parking' turned out to be on road parking.
Closeness to town centre Good breakfast good pub atmosphere
Stains on carpet unfinished decorations and promenant springs in the bed. Bathroom and toilet un finished
Comfy bed and friendly welcome
Very scruffy, carpet so worn you can see the floor underneath. Radiator didn't work
the walls were falling to pieces, the lights didn't work, the mirror had fallen on the floor when my room, there was a couple in sexual acts in the beer Garden, we found a bag of Cannabis on the floor in the morning, the breakfast was burnt, the cups in the room were dirty, the breakfast bowl was chipped they gave us no option of what we actually wanted for breakfast, and the coffee tasted disgusting, and last but not least... The ice that was in my whiskey had big black bits of dirt in it.
Leaving to be honest
The smell of cigarette smoke upstairs, the condition of the staircase, the black dirtbon the windowsill, ceiling paint was coming off, tv could only receive one channel, 24hr petrol station smack opposite the pub so noisy, windows so thin couldnt block noise out, dirty cutlery at breakfast, chef never wore whites just his outdoor clothes while cooking.
This little pub was really a last minute booking as the hotel I booked let me know I did not have a room! Staff welcoming and very friendly, best selection of real ale I have seen out side of a beer festival for a very long time, old character building, fantastic breakfast, big bedroom..... Would I stay here again yes!
This is not a "didn't" like more an observation. The accommodation is tired and carpets worn, and the shower room is functional and looks like an on going project..... That said I had good nights sleep and a hot shower
the bed was comfortable
lack of interest from the staff felt like was an inconvenience. Room was not ready despite asking to check in early had to change in toilet to get ready for a wedding. There was no staff around most of the time even had to hang around to wait to pay for my room didn't bother with breakfast just wanted to get out
