Being greeted as we parked the car! A nice room with fresh fruit provided plus coffee etc. Open fires in hall and sitting room, papers to read - home form home only better
Shower was difficult to adjust, but worked fine.
Most. loved spa facility, decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. dinner was delicious too. love to return soon.
coffees after dinner were perhaps forgotten we did not mention as we wanted to go to sleep by the time we realised they were forgotten? so, our fault.
This hotel is beautifully presented and decorated. The spa and related facilities are excellent and better than comparable options. It is a lovely setting and comfortable.
I thought the staff, whilst OK, could have been more polished/charming for this type of hotel. Also, the restaurant was very over-priced given comparables. A bellini in the hotel bar was over £12 which I thought was expensive.
spa Afternoon tea Breakfast
We were not allowed to use the spa after we had checked out of our room at 11am , most spa hotels allow you this facility to use the spa the day you Check in and out, in my experience.
The Spa was amazing. Excellent facilities and very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Room with comfy bed
Food quantity and variation poor
Outstanding and highly skilled service. Beautiful room and comfortable mattress. Enjoyable spa with great facilities Stunning grounds and surrounds
Food portions though beautifully presented were small. However so much was outstanding that this is a minimal complaint
The staff were very attentive and real home from home. Expensive but lovely stay would def recommend
The heat in the room, it was unusually warm for the time of year but no way to cool down. Bed a little uncomfortable dipped in the middle
It was fabulous, staff, atmosphere, food, spa the whole experience.
The room was a little too hot as was the hot water in shower, couldn't get it cool enough to stand under. The booking message that we were celebrating our anniversary didn't seem to get through.
Spa got a bit crowded with groups on a spa day
Staff were very polite Bed was comfortable On suite bathroom was very clean
Room felt small view from windows "bin area from one" flat roof" from the other. People smoking and chatting around bin area. Cobwebs above bed. Sink splashed water on clothes when tap turned on. Carpet in dining room filthy, stained and not swept. Breakfast was very average, was not offered additional toast or coffee
The staff couldn't have been more helpful, made the check in process a pleasure, delightful room and views, breakfast was great and Spa looked lovely although didn't gave time to visit. We will definitely stay again when in the area.
The quality of everything was superb, the facilities, the service, the room, the food ,discreet and friendly staff, and a real attention to detail.
We liked everything !
The spa area was very nice, the service was excellent, the room was very clean and spacious, as it was business the WiFi connection was important and it was very good. The food and wine was very good.
We were quite near the spa and the humming of the generators woke us up.
Staying Sunday night always helps to secure a good price but the room was excellent, still and sparkling water, tea, coffee and excellent shortcake biscuits. Breakfast variety was excellent and the opportunity to use the Elan Spa until 11am a real bonus.
Bed may be a little soft for some but it didn't affect the quality of my sleep. If you look critically you will find peeling paint but it didn't adversely affect my experience.
Room & bathroom larger than expected. Bed was comfortable and spacious. Amenities included Nespresso type coffee machine. Dinner meal was very tasty. Lovely setting and beautiful old country home.
Maintenance was needed, some room lights not functional & needed repair by electricians not on duty. Entry to room was through Spa Salon. For our taste the dining area was more formal than relaxed and welcoming.
Excellent spa facilities
No shower in room booked dinner for 7pm sat down at 8.15pm. Food very small portion and not top quality
The Greenway is a wonderful retreat in the beautiful Cotswolds. I booked this hotel as a last minute romantic get-away and was over the moon with my choice. The staff were wonderful and friendly and were genuinely interested in us having an enjoyable stay. The comfort, ambience and decor of the hotel were excellent and every little detail had been thought of. Completely by surprise our room was upgraded which was a special treat. Breakfast was lovely and we finished by taking our tea and coffee outside into the beautiful gardens overlooking the tranquil pond and fountain. Spent Sunday morning playing croquet on the lawn after walking round the gardens - very peaceful and lovely. We never made it to the Spa, but this looked very nice as we wandered around the hotel on arrival. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning - we have some wonderul memories. Thank you to all of the staff
The service at breakfast was very friendly but poor. This was mentioned to management who were very apologetic. The food was wonderful.
Beautiful gardens, great to run around in despite the hotel staff looking on appalled!
When we arrived the hotel had 'lost our booking'. Although they were able to accommodate us we were told that both restaurants were fully booked, however, when we went out for the evening it was clear that there were a number of spare tables. It appeared to us that had we not had our son with us (age 2) we would have been able to secure a table but quite simply they did not want children around. I would recommend the hotel, but not if you have children with you.
beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds, surrounded by outstanding countryside. a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of life- it's very quiet. we used the pool and spa frequently- the outdoor hot-tub was awesome. the staff were very welcoming. we were given a free upgrade on arrival.
the breakfast could have been better
Great location. Very striking, small, heritage hotel, beautfully furnished and decorated. Deluxe bedroom was outstanding. Small but well appointed Spa - great outdoor hot tub! Nice gardens. Helpful front of house staff.
No heating in bedroom despite turning radiators on full. Apart from Maitre D, restaurant staff pleasant but very inexperienced and not up to the standard of the hotel or dining room especially for the price. 3* service at best. Spa changing rooms very basic - one poor quality massage.
beautiful garden, very nice and friendly staff, good food (both brasserie and restaurant menu)
Mattress quality Facilities would need a refurb
Room decoration and features Space Service Facilities Grounds Food In fact, everything!
The tiles around the pool were very slippery when wet. I nearly fell a couple of times even though I was only walking carefully.
Lovely old house in pretty countryside. One member of the staff at breakfast was very nice.
Unfortunately we didnt enjoy our stay. Lots of little things and a couple of major. Slightly shirty, pretentious staff attitude that you only seem to encounter in poorly run manor house hotels. Dont get fobbed off with a coach house room, unbearably hot and stuffy and with problematic drains that cause a distinct unpleasant smell. The staff are well aware but will pretend it's not a problem. Glasses and cutlery never properly clean. No cold mixer for drinks. Horrible room service sandwich. Breakfast items at room temperature that should be chilled. Some random jammy knife marks on our toast. Unexpectedly charged 3.50 for a toothbrush kit. This hotel has a £50 late checkout policy and they relish attempting to apply it.
