Great location, friendly staff, goodbbreakfast, excellent value for money
One of friends room was a bit small and the radiator was broken.
Nice friendly atmosphere nice location.
Not how it looked on the website. Room needed a bit of redecorating and freshening up, bathroom had cracked tiles and bath panel had come away from bath. Poor parking facilities.
Very accommodating staff.
we booked a winter holiday, end of nov. we wanted to be close to the hub and this was. we were also in time to see the xmas lights come on at Bowness, which is a 40 minute walk from Windermere, where Grey Walls is. grey Walls is establishe and friendly.
It is a lovely large property with grey stone walls and I would love to see it improve its facilities and use all its resources.
The breakfast was one of the best. Our double room needed a little TLC but was clean and comfortable.
Our adult son booked into the single room only to find that the bed was too small. 5 foot bed placed between 3 walls. He had to find alternative accommodation.
Great hospitable staff, Alex was a credit to the hotel and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent position near the centre of town
Cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable room, good food in bar.
Located within easy access of the town centre, Friendly staff, especially Alex, a very pleasant young man, a credit to Greywalls
The Internet access was only available in the bar, this can be a problem for someone wishing to access prior to the Bar opening, a booster could well be the answer? Other than than the above I would recommend this establishment.
Kept our backpacks for us while traveling the day of checkout. Food good in the pub Great full breakfast too
Hotel very relaxed, very warm, good breakfasts, friendly, helpful Staff. Very good position for visiting other Cumbrian towns. Hotel has had many updates since last time we visited
Great Location, nice food, friendly staff.
I would have liked to have 2 comfy chairs in our room as there was nowhere to sit.
Huge note of our personal thanks to Alex who made our stay at The Grey Walls a really lovely experience. Alex was courteous, extremely professional and an example to all within the hospitality profession. Thank you!
Nothing at all to dislike!
comfortable bed, big bathroom, good location. Most importantly, good management of the accommodation area and restaurant. People who eat in the restaurant can't go to the accommodation area easily.
close to centre of Windermere town, however this hotel is not in Bowness!
shortage of staff upon arrival, (poor girl was stressed seeing to bar, serving food & checking in!) heating was not on so cold & no hot water ended up going out without showering or changing! room was damp & cold!
Clean, cosy, friendly place
Very good great staff went out of there way to help
Girl running breakfast was lovely and the room was small but clean and comfortable.
The pub was okay but a bit of a cliquey local.
Great location, friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Room was a bit on the small side but comfortable anyway.
The location was excellent and the staff were lovely. So much is we stayed up playing pool and darts with them until late and missed breakfast. This wasn't a problem and we were Made a bacon buttie and a coffee before we left for home. The rooms were very clean and a good size and the food was excellent. Will definately be staying here again.
The bathroom was a bit dated with a cracked bath panel but it was still very clean. Only thing I can write that was negative really.
Good service and staff. Very helpful and welcoming
having a restaurant and pub on same premises and walking distance to other facilities in town.
Shower was cold and no water from hot water tap in one of the rooms.
The location was perfect, staff very friendly, I went with a friend and stayed in twin room ,it was small but ideal for what we needed it for it was lovely and warm, and clean. I would definitely recommend it and go back my self.
Nothing really.we did ask for a light bite when we got there ,but couldn't have anything due to them training a new chef , other than that nothing major.
Historic pub in the centre of town, with parking. Clean and comfortable at a good price. Close to eateries.
Bathroom had a sliding door which was neither silent to open, nor soundproof when closed (!)
Room spacious and comfortable - lovely large T.V!!
Bed too soft for elderly, arthritic bones!!!
location all staff where very friendly and very helpfull the room was warm cosy and spotless food was loverly will be going back next year.Great holiday.
no complaints at all every think was perfect
