Good, slightly old fashioned, slightly quirky hotel with proper pub. A bit of character, good night stay near centre of Windermere. Breakfast good. Good valve at £70 per night for a double inc breakfast. It was all very good for the price.

We were a group of eight girls on a drinking weekend, staff were very helpful and patient with us. Can't fault the breakfast was good value for money and has good in house bar. Only thing can complain about is had to wait for room to be ready as got there too early but we just had a few drinks at the bar while we were waiting which was fine and staff let us know when it was ready

Location They promised us a gluten free breakfast at arrival. At the morning we were told bread was not available and the sausage was a vegetarian, which was deep fried and raw in the middle. Truly disappointing!!

Bedrooms a good size, comfortable and very clean. Staff were very friendly - sorted out issue with parking quickly and offered advice about local ammenities. Very weak coffee! Some noise from bar but stopped about 11.30pm so not a major problem.

The room was lovely and so was the bathroom - Breakfast was a little late for me at 8:30 - I wanted to catch a 10 am ferry a mile walk away so I was too late.

Hotel in great location, very clean, bar great, locals very welcoming , would say I would stay again Town centre is small, not many local pubs or facilities but your there for the lakes and mountains, but if your after the local village life and nice pub lunches them go to Keswick . Breakfast include fresh fruits and more types of breads

Bed was comfortable. A request for an early breakfast was not provided as requested. (For 1 guest) Staff were not attentive during breakfast service (when they eventually turned up late), the 2nd guest left without breakfast. Toilet was broken, room was extremely small. Noise coming through from the pub was unbearable. Car parking is not sufficent for number of rooms available. Booking details on arrival were not correct (phone number and email didn't correspond to the rest of the details). It's basically a pub with rooms, not a hotel.

Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. It was clean. They made us feel at home especially as we took 2 dogs with us and we were a little wary. The food particularly the breakfast were delicious.

Staff were friendly. The room was tiny and grotty, in a poor state, with stained walls and an old carpet - not worth £50 a night, and for any woman I know it would have been unacceptable. It's more a pub than a hotel - the reception is the bar. Breakfast at 08.00 might be a bit late for some (it was for me for getting off to my walks)
