As usual the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. True to their word, the owners are constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of your stay. Purely by chance we were in the same room as on our previous visit ( Sept 2010) and we noticed straight away that the room had been redecorated.

The best feature of the Grosvenor is location. It's centrally situated between town, Barbican and the views from the Hoe of Plymouth Sound and Drake's Island is just a 2 minute stroll. The cleanliness, friendly staff and excellent facilities not to forget the breakfast made our stay very enjoyable. I would recommend the Grosvenor to anyone thinking of staying in Plymouth.

Friendly staff. Very comfortable room. Brilliant lighting for reading. Good sized kettle with mugs - nice touch chocolate on saucer and little packets of biscuits. Very good shower. Not far from the harbour with huge choice of wonderful restarants. Very good value. Delicious breakfast. Will deffnitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Plymouth.

free wireless. Breakfast included. Fast check-in. we had asked for a quiet room when booking, but there were noisy roadworks right in front of our window when we arrived. Not the hotel's fault, but they could have at least tried to accommodate our request for a different room, rather than resorting to the quick "we are fully booked" excuse. Room and bed were very small, not much space to move around if you have several bags.

the hotel is situated right between the pavillions and the barbican so great central location . on arrival we got upgraded to the superior suite, king size bed with another room with 3 single beds!! we didnt need the 3 single beds but the room was lovely . all beds had duck feather duvets on and were really comfy. hotel seems small and personal which i liked . staff we all really friendly. rooms were spotless with really nice decor. breakfast was yummy. no complaints at all would definitly stay again .

The breakfast Too noisy. Didn't like the televisions blaring out everywhere, especially at breakfast. One room had a loud tv playing all night long.

Friendy reception and cleaners, clean and close to the Hoe We felt rushed at breakfast and did not like the tv. It seems a shame when there is an opportunity to offer both a room with the t v and one without not to do so.

1 Location - perfect for Theatre Royal, Hoe just round the corner. 2 Friendly helpful staff 3 Pleasant bar with good ale and perfect light pre-theatre meal 4 Good value at £49 b&b with ensuite 5 Good breakfast with flexible menu (not everyone wants an enormous 'full' English breakfast) 1 Bedroom and breakfast room felt cramped and overcrowded 2 Fire escape route not indicated in bedroom - should one use the flat roof outside the window.

Room decor was in good condition and clean. Breakfast was good even though the room can get a little crowded. Local Wetherspoons only 10 minutes walk away.! Good value at Bookings ,com room rate. If you're at the top of the hotel the stairs are long and steep, with no lift. As with most of these converted old houses the partitioning between rooms is very thin and noise can travel! My only real criticism is their claim for car parking, " off street parking is available, booking not necessary" is what they say. In reality what they mean is that they have 6 spaces allocated on a first come, first served basis, after that its in the local street if you can find a space. If you arrive before 6 o'clock, the hotel spaces have long gone and you have to feed a meter until the free time starts at 6.

The staff were very friendly and the service was efficient. The rooms was of a good standard and spacious with good facilities in the ensuite including toiletries. The style of the room and hotel bar area were modern and tasteful. The location was great for some of the local attractions and resturants - all in walking distance. The breakfast offered was extensive and of good quality. I would definately stay in this hotel again. My room was up 4 flights of stairs and there didnt appear to be a lift.

Staff were terribly helpful and friendly. Bed made every day and the room cleaned with internet access available in rooms. Great breakfast with perfectly poached eggs too. Orderly breakfast room will with friendly, but not too instrusive staff. Lovely location close to the Hoe. Insufficient use of extractor fans in kitchen. Unfortunately, every morning cooking smells rose to the third floor, where my room was.

Have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions for business trips. It is comfortable, quiet, clean, and, although fairly basic with small rooms, of a good, consistent standard and excellent value for money. It is very convenient for the lovely views over the harbour and within a short pleasant walk from the Barbican and all the waterside restaurants, cafes, etc. The breakfast in the morning was fresh, well cooked and served by friendly, helpful staff When booking my last trip there was only one room left. This overlooked a flat section of roof with the kitchen vents (and occasional consequent smells) quite close to the only window.

The hotel was easy to find, very clean and the staff very polite and extremley helpfull the rooms have all that's required for your stay, some noise from the room next door but think we had a very unconciderate person next to us that liked to let doors slam late at night. The hotel overall was very good.
