On the banks of the River Stour, in the heart of Stodmarsh Nature Reserve, this beautifully converted Georgian mansion offers stylish rooms, great food and drink, and free Wi-Fi and parking. With its own character and style, the Grove Ferry is independently run. Originally a coaching house, the inn dates back to 1831 and took its name from a hand-drawn ferry that took people across the river. The bar has a real log fire and offers drinks from around the world, as well as great local ales from the brewery in Faversham. Food is freshly prepared to order and made using the best seasonal produce available locally. A full English breakfast is served each day. There are large gardens and a terrace and patio with lovely views of the river. With superb views of the surrounding countryside, the en suite rooms are comfortable, light and spacious with oak flooring. Each individually decorated room has a desk, TV and tea/coffee. Quaint, good evening food, location. Unable to have ccoked breakfast as they didn't start serving until 9.00am! Room rate charged was higher than the price booked on Booking.com.

The website made The Grove Ferry look amazing. However, when we arrived every facility was a disappointment. The toilet smelt disgusting, the food was over priced and the room awful.

The rooms were really nice and at a very good rate - the largest bed ever! The bar and restaurant were excellent. Would definitely stay again when visiting Canterbury.

Bar/restaurant areas good with lovely fires. Good location for walks or to visit Canterbury. Commendable attitude toward food/meals in attempts to use local produce & encourage a co-operative of sorts. Upstairs areas & rooms need a lot of TLC. Meal prices don't reflect quality but admire their aspiration re use of local produce etc.
