Very friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble for them. Location was good - easy to get around the Wirral countryside and beaches and also across to Liverpool for shopping etc. We hope to visit this hotel again.

Small hotel (14 rooms) close to metro station, 200/250 yards, with easy access central Liverpool. Room very pleasant but a bit small for a double. Breakfast good with fruit, cereals etc, and full English breakfast cooked to order. Dinner was mixed, some dishes very good others not so good. Staff were generally friendly and helpful.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Even when we returned late back one evening and the front door was locked the guy on reception made us a night cap, gave us biscuits (on request). Little things like this go a long way. It was convenient for our trip to Aintree for the Grand National.

The staff were very attentive and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean. The breakfasts were excellent. There was a lovely garden. Parking area was convenient. Reception on duty all night. There were a lot of stairs but the hotel had character and that was to be expected.

good location, friendly staff and good breakfast made our stay comfortable We had to walk around the outside of the building in heavy snow to get to the function suite, because a table was blocking the internal door-not acceptable really

We were a party of 6, all impressed by the very high standard of decor and cleanliness ~ both in the public areas and bedrooms. Beds were comfortable, bedding/towels clean and fresh. Fruit, biscuits, bottled water and sweets in room as well as usual tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Lovely toiletries (we're Molton Brown users and these were close!). Bathrooms sparkling clean and modern. Hotel staff, particularly at breakfast, were very friendly, efficient and polite, no mean feat as it was a Christmas Party night when we stayed. Breakfast was very good ~ usual fruit juice, cereals, DIY muesli, full English cooked to order (could have had extras such as haddock etc.). One of us had the full English vegetarian option. It is also in a convenient location, approximately 15 minutes drive from the city of Liverpool (which for hotel guests who do not know, is an interesting and modern city), within a few minutes walk of the train station and it is only a slightly longer walk to the seaside town of New Brighton. Also within a few minutes drive is Hilbre Island which is a place of natural beauty. All in all we would definitely stay there again, it would be a pleasure to do so.

The rooms were well equipped and comfortable. Plenty of on-site parking, and nice grounds. No elevator, but the waiter carried the heavy bags up the stairs.

I booked Grove House for a weekend trip to Liverpool with my daughter. We'd read good reviews and the rooms were much better value than we could have found in the city. We liked the quieter location and the good car parking, but main thing was the very closeby rail station on the Wirral line that provides a cheap frequent service to Liverpool. Although we arrived earlier than the published check in time, the hotel allowed us to go to our rooms which were clean and well equipped. Good TV and tea/ coffee facilities and I particularly liked the bowl of complimentary snacks provided. Breakfast was good in a large breakfast room and excellent choice of both hot and cold food. Although we were only there for one night, the staff and management were all very nice and helpful. All in all an excellent find, brilliant value and we would definitely stay again if visiting the area. Nothing really, they specialise in weddings and there was a little noise from the party downstairs but this stopped at 12pm.

Was not impressed with the room toilet flush didn't flush shower was horrendous. I thought for £69 it was terrible value for money, other rooms where much bigger For less money! Also our room smelt of smoke because people where allowed to smoke directly outside the hotel. The room was also very hot and the small fan we had did nothing. Terrible value for money.
