Very relaxing atmosphere, with very good breakfast. Room was good size and comfortable although TV channel selection and picture not brilliant, if TV is what you want whilst away from home. Ideal location for seeing the city. |

A nice easy walk to the city centre The bed was only slightly more comfortable than sleeping on the cobblestoned pavements of York. Breakfast was made with cheap ingredients. |

The location was first class and the staff were excellent. The breakfast was first class and overall the hotel was good value for money. It was obvious there was some decoration work being done at the hotel and, although not off-putting to myself, I could envisage other customers being put off by the amount of materials lying around the corridors while this work is being carried out.Having said that, this is temporary and I'm sure the end result will be worth the inconvenience. |

Very friendly welcome and the staff were friendly. The decor in the bedroom was dated and the bed needed to be replaced but given that the owners have only been there since May I am sure they will soon get round to it. |

The peacefulness even though within the City. Near enough to walk everywhere, so as car is not used throughout the stay. Near to trains and buses if need be. We were at the top, which was OK for my wife, but no so much for myself, but we should have stated that at time of booking. Under some refurbishment at time we were there, but again, understandable that these things have to be done. |
