I always feel safe at this hotel. The staff are smiling, friendly, cheerful and helpful. The "full breakfast" is most enjoyable and well presented. I would not consider choosing another hotel when I visit York. |

The pleasentness of the guys who ran the place, both in the evening and at breakfast in the morning, (the breakfast was as advertised grilled and nothing fried-brillianr) very welcoming and homely feel about the place nothing - everything was totally fine |

My room was excellent,spacious and quiet.Generous breakfast served quickly by pleasant staff.The hotel is a lovely building in a lovely street and a 10 min walk into town(recommend taking a side road to the river bank-going into the centre that way) |

Quite a reasonable price when compared to others in the locality. However, not that cheap when compared to others elsewhere which have a highr standard. Having said that though, no complaints and a good breakfast too. |

The staff were helpful and welcoming, the rooms were clean and warm and there was plenty of hot water. The bar prices were expensive for what was on offer. |

Comfortable, value for money hotel. Convenient for York city centre. Breakfast cooked to order, not "warming" under a light bulb. The advertised trouser press in every room was absent from mine. No big deal really. |

The receptionist was very friendly. I got lost on my way to the hotel but when I rang the hotel, the receptionist was friendly and gave me clear directions. I was also impressed with the space of the bedroom and the large bathroom as well as the facilities. The hotel room also provided lots of info on places to see in York which was the reason for my visit. I was generally happy with the hotel. Just one small thing which isn't really a complaint but more of a suggestion. For breakfast, I would have preferred to have it in more of a buffet style where I could help myself. A self-service buffet would have allowed more freedom of choice, eg. for English Breakfast. |

the location was good only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Staff very polite and friendly, breakfast excellent. The decor needed updating, the room was cold and the bed very uncomfortable. |

The hotel is in an excellent location. . Other than location there are no strong points to this hotel. The television did not have a proper aerial therefore the picture was fuzzy. The decor is awful and the room small. The bathroom was dirty and the shower was actually just a plastic pipe up from the bathtaps and therefore unuseable for a proper shower however I wouldn't have had a bath as it looked dirty.
