Quiet location in a leafy road yet within walking distance to the city centre. Excellent standard of decoration, superbly clean. Very good value for money, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast and lounge facilities. No problems with this stay at all. |

The hotel was clean and in a nice quiet location, a plus point for such a modest hotel was the small bar which most quests seem to use at night for a nightcap so you get to know the other guests which these days in not to common. |

Good location, 10 minute walk to city centre but down a quiet cul de sac.Friendly, helpful staff, Hotel retains many victorian features which gives it an individual feel. Very clean. |

Friendly staff. Spacious room. Good size flat screen TV. Ample tea and coffee sachets, UH milk and fresh milk, complimentary biscuits. Bar area with comfortable seating. Hassle free onsite parking. Breakfast selection bigger at start of service than towards the end. |

Thereis a very warm & friendly atmosphere. I met an old school friend in their lounge where we chatted for 3 hours-the cleaner delaying hoovering til we'd finished! Excellent location for visitng York too. |

"Check-in" was swift, member of staff then showed us too our room,\car parking was good,room was cosy and warm. breakfast was outstanding, menu even included a vegetarian breakfast which was appropriate as my wife is a vegetarian. Good signal for the inrternet, 5/10 min walk away from city centre all in all a great hotel and certainly value for money the lock on our room door was a little slack and our shower head was loose |

The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well cooked and of good quality. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had recently been refurbished. Our room was slightly small for a twin, the wardrobe was too small and angled awkwardly, which made using it difficult. The window didn't close properly, and one of beds was just under it. |

friendly and helpful owners and staff made us very welcome even provided me with a cake on my birthday the breakfast was excellent and the place was full we staid 5 nights and would have staid longer if we had the time will definitely be back again there was nothing about this hotel that we did not like |

I would recommend this hotel to anyone! I stopped with my family for my graduation and all of our rooms were comfortable with tea/coffee facilities and nice bathrooms. Because we had to be out early we thought we wouldn't get chance for a cooked breakfast, but the staff went out of their way to make sure we got our full English!! It's in a good location within walking distance of the city, a very nice place to stop! |

Professionally run small hotel - mostly recently refurbished with taste. Free secure parking; free wi-fi. Quiet residential cul-de-sac. Convenient to walk to York city center. It was booked up for the second night and we had to move!! |
