Was a nice place easy to find friendly staff great locals
Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonable price for accomodation. Good location.
No heat in room. Bar heater only and this didn't work.
Cheery owner who brought us a jug of fresh milk instead of the plastic containers. Lovely comfortable bed with a nice white quilt. A small heater which was welcome and soon got the room warm. Lots of hot water for the shower. At last a full mirror near a plug socket so that you can actually see what you are doing when you dry your hair.
A cake of soap would have been nice and a tooth mug. The room is small but as we were spending all our time at friends down the road that did not matter. Cartons of juice, muffins and oat bars for breakfast, no cooked breakfast. Not a problem for us.
-Staff were very friendly and welcoming -selection and quality of beers available was excellent
-no heating in bathroom -electric plug in heater in bedroom -mould above shower cubicle
Typical English Pub with an excellent "food" menue.
Steep stairs up to the room, literally straight up. Noway we were able to take our big suitcases up to the room. No food served in the pub on two of our evenings there - chef off sick.
TINY bedroom in a block behind the main building. Indifferent dinner DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST Proprietors off site at night
Turned up 20.45 and received a superb welcome. This included a pint on the house! Only one night because we were attending a nearby wedding. We're allowed to leave our car in their car park.
The staff agreed to refund our payment.
Poor condition, breakfast was porridge tub that you add water to, there was also a juice box with a straw! We have stayed in all sorts of accommodation before, this was very poor. I'd rather be in a youth hostel. There was hair in the tea cups, mould, peeling paint, a general feeling of not wanting to get into the bed or touch anything.
Really cute double room, wooden flooring was lovely. Staff were very polite. Ate all the snacks in the room, yummy! Mattress was very soft and comfortable.
Bathroom wasn't very clean, but okay to use. Only one spotlight in room looked a bit odd but worked okay. Door to the room didn't seem very secure. No lights leading up to the rooms, couldn't see. People above us stomping around in the morning, woke us up. Floorboards above creaking. No wifi?
Pleasant staff. Not far from lovely walk along river.
Location of room was within 6 feet of beer garden! It was a warm evening and our room was hot. There is no AC, so we had the window open. The noise continued until after midnight. There were people above us and we could hear every footstep and noise! Shower door jammed shut.
The bed was comfortable the bathroom was larger than most.
The room was very small. But OK for over night. You could hear people moving upstairs very creaky floor boards.
Sheets were clean .
Dirty, run down, breakfast basket was only enough for one person not two, poorly built with no soundproofing. No wifi. I could go on, but I won't.
Nice 'village' type pub close to Maidenhead. Very pleasant staff and very helpful. Also dog friendly! Nice atmosphere to the pub. We enjoyed our stay even though we were really only sleeping there for a party nearby!
The sign outside The Grenfell Arms says 'Bed & Breakfast' but no cooked breakfast available??? Also, there is a beer garden to the rear of the pub, which could be really nice....but is actually a bit of a mess and not cared for at all - hmmmm??? Overall would still recommend for local overnight stay.
The floorboards in the accommodation above my room (Rm 4) were very squeaky and noisy. The occupier also left the TV or radio on ALL NIGHT!!! I got very little sleep. I was very angry. Never again.
Too steep stairs up to room. Problem with leak when you took a shower. Creaky floorboards.
Very comfortable bed, quiet location.
very basic room and facilities. No soap in bathroom. 1 teabag, 3 sachets of coffee!!
Location to motorway and London
Poor furniture, poor layout. No one on site after 11pm till 4pm the next day. No breakfast and no where to get it locally in walking distance.
it was close to where we wanted to be and the menu outside promised food whenever we came back. The e-mail said they were there for us 24/7.NONE OF THAT WAS TRUE. We arrived early and although we were given our key ,they said they had no record of our booking and have you ever stayed at a bed and breakfast that didnt do breakfast.
There was a breakfast basket in our room. The muffin was mouldy and when i took it to the barman his response was yes it is. The menu outside the bar promised food but would you eat in a bar where only 2 people were having a drink +it was the same barman earlier
Clive and Beth were very gracious hosts, with them and the staff making us feel right at home. Great food, great beer. What else can you ask for!!
The beds were ok and shower was ok
No breakfast Mould round shower Bedroom to small for a twin No wifi Pub drinks exspensive £4 a pint
Room rather dated and could do with a good clean
Very friendly, very helpful
A convenient location.
A very small room , shower door was jammed shut on arrival.
The location and the pub.
For £70 a night I expect clean and a functioning bathroom. What I got was a toilet that didn't flush properly & was not securely fixed to the wall. and there were cobwebs all over the bathroom. The fence and the area outside the annex which housed the rooms was tatty (I am being generous here). There was an upside down tolley next to my room which looked like it had been there for a long time.
Clive & Beth and the whole staff (especially Rick the Chef) were very helpful, and we will stay there again.
