Friendly family run business, made us feel very welcome and at ease Excellent location close to beach and shops. Rooms are family friendly and we were provided with everything we needed for a stay with a toddler and baby, making the trip easier for us.. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. Location was perfect for tennis only a short walk from Devonshire park. Sarah recommended some very good restaurants. Large clean and comfortable room.

    Nothing not too like

We liked the feeling that our triple suite in this self-catering B&B was an elegant apartment. We really liked having such a well-equipped kitchen that we could sit down in, even though it would be quite a tight squeeze for three. The bathroom was very nice, with a powerful over-bath shower. One of our favourite aspects of this suite was the hall, with room to hang our coats, which helped to make the whole place feel more spacious. The king-size bed was also very comfortable and the free Wi-Fi very effective.

Our only little gripe was the noisy plumbing system that pumps the waste away to the back of the house where the sewers are. This is a normal feature of any Victorian building and the fault of no one, but just something that we noticed in and amongst the otherwise lovely features of this very comfortable guesthouse.

Friendly hosts. Location nearby the sea front. Beautiful and spacious room.

Slight noise from the outside (seagulls early in the morning!) and other guests.

The room and the kitchen were well appointed and clean. The decor was tasteful and made one feel at home. The owners were very accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was great. The bathroom was fine and all amenities provided were of hotel standard. We loved the location as it was near to the sea, the view was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. We can recommend the Guesthouse East and if we are in the area, we will stay there again.

Only one comment...there was no way to use the blow dryer in front of a asked that an extension cord be provided.

The couple who run the place are lovely and very welcoming from the moment you arrive. The hotel is located about 1 minute from the seaside and just a couple of minutes to the town centre, so couldn't be more convenient! It's also very close to a cheap carpark if/when street parking is not possible. We were lucky with the weather, so out most of the time, but if it had rained, they have a DVD selection and the TV in the room has a DVD player which came in useful when we were too tired to go out!

We chose this B&B as it was near the beach but off the Main Street so would be quiet. It was also near a dear friend who we were meeting again for the first time in 7 years. Sarah and Carl were very welcoming and helpful with lots of suggestions as to what we could do during our 2 days stay. An enjoyable stay.
