Stayed here in august for one night, friendly staff excellent, clean and comfortable room, great location
Pretty room with character. Nice White Co toiletries. Lovely Clipper teabags in room. Great breakfast - quality produce and good presentation.
Bed a bit lumpy. Weak, tasteless tea at breakfast - Tetleys we were told, which was disappointing!
The quality was so much nicer than I was expecting for a small city
There was nothing to fault with my experience at the halcyon
Breakfast, checking out.
Small room, even smaller bathroom, stained carpets, wobbly tiles in bathroom floor, wobbly, drafty windows, room opposite 24 hr Taxi rank & very noisy.
Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast excellent Attached Circo bar very good location
noise from Taxi rank opposite room a touch on the small side
The reception staff were extremely pleasant and attentive and we were treated quite well throughout our stay, we did not feel invisible as we have previously done in larger chain hotel reception areas. The bar staff in the cocktail lounge were excellent and very polite. The continental breakfast was quite sufficient
Our room, which was the last one available was on the small size.
The location was great, close to the major sights of Bath. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay in all but the summer months.
This is a historic building and as such does not have air conditioning. We stayed on a very warm night and although a fan was provided, we found this to be quite uncomfortable.
Lovely central position. Great staff very polite and helpful.
No parking - added £25 to the stay to park the car. Room was very small for a double and very hot.
This hotel had the nicest desk staff I've ever come across. Good location, easy couple of mins walk to the best tourist spots.
The wifi signal in our particular room wasn't great but the space in reception is a perfectly nice place to sit and work if you need a reliable connection.
Cleanliness of room, comfort of bed, location great, cannot fault the staff. Good allocation of tea and coffee facilities, towels etc.
No Wardrobe in allocated room, think this has been mentioned in other reviews. The bed dominates the room. Space tight getting into bathroom. No proper stair handrail prior to entering breakfast room. difficult to negotiate for people with walking difficulties. Not sure about the green tea and sweet jars etc which are chargeable to guests, think these are wasting space, not really necessary to have these items in the room.
Decoration, location, bar downstairs, breakfast
Lovely decor, very good location, nice terrace bar
Small hot rooms although it was a very warm day!
The location is perfect. Reasonably priced parking is in very close distance. The staff were very nice during check in/out. We were given the room in the ground floor which was another positive thing since we had heavy luggage.
Although the ground floor room was a positive thing for our luggage, but it's at the entrance of the hotel with a cafe/restaurant just outside the window. In general this didn't cause any noise, except for a short duration when apparently there was a fight going own between two drunk people! it's not the hotel fault, though! I would still ask for the same room if I stayed there again.
Position and Breakfast
All the home comforts provided by The White Company and attention to detail throughout the hotel. Made to feel welcome on arrival. Great location, all attractions within walkable distance.
Vibrant, kicking, Circa cocktail bar in the basement let down by long queues for drinks, each cocktail taking around 5 minutes to make. I got stuck behind a hen party of 12 each ordering a different cocktail!!! I opted for a G&T as it was too dark to read the cocktail menu/book which looked like a short novel set in small type. There are two bars but only one bar was open with just two bar staff serving. Annoyed at leaving my partner sat alone for 20 minutes. Left broken hairdryer in reception on my arrival, didn't see a replacement.
Proximity to station and Bath centre.
Most FreeView TV channels did not work. Day 1 breakfast was mediocre (but day 2 was noticeably better).
Great welcoming staff, clean room, clean bathroom. Great staff attention at breakfast. The location is central, near train station and an easy walk from the hub of Bath.
My room had a lousy view into an inner courtyard (3c) Although I had a great sleep because neighbours were quiet, I was worried as in the afternoon as I noticed the sound insulation for room 3c (on the 3rd floor) was rather poor (I think it is the door, could hear neighbour coming in, their TV, etc.). Breakfast was limited in choices It was not clear how to get back in after 23:00, I rang all the bells and knocked and a very friendly person opened but this could be clearer sign-posted. I do recommend the hotel, just make sure you find this out before going for a drink!
Location from and view over city Rooms very stylish and bed extremely comfy!
The rooms were very well furnished small but cosy. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic! Very nice breakfast and bar area and the staff were lovely.
The only thing we didn`t like was the view from our room which was at the rear of the property and we had noise coming from pipework outside our room.
Paul and Malika at reception are most helpful and welcoming, made our stay at the Halcion a very enjoyable experience.
Nothing, except... Beware the 'egg thief' at breakfast, there's good chance you'll loose your carefully guarded 8min boiled egg whilst negotiating the toaster!
Good enough location. Good breakfast.
Tiny rooms. No service. Very expensive.
The location is perfect for station, city centre, restaurants and river.
Friendly welcome and staff always helpful. Redecoration going on but nothing was disturbed except the breakfast routine. But that was minor. Bob was brilliant with directions.
The room was super small but Bath is so amazing that people use the hotels for sleeping, all time awake must be spent out in the city :)
