Welcoming host. Good selection of ale
SPIDERS, but hey it is the countryside!
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice beer and a nice meal. Peaceful location.
Tried to book the hotel directly and they put the phone down on me! Therefore, you may be better booking through bookings.com A few spiders in the room, I counted 6, not an issue for me personally.
Excellent food and lovely quiet positiion.
Bed a bit hard.
The welcome, the food, the beer.
Location; External appearance; really nice staff (once you could find them); great food; nice bedroom (if a bit plain) and modern bathroom; peaceful;Casquemark for well kept beer (very nice it was, too) and a good hygiene rating
Restricted check in/out hours; difficulty in finding anyone on arrival; Bar a bit scruffy in places (but still a good place for a meal) A bit expensive compared to the 4 star Bournemouth hotel we stayed in earlier same week. We had good weather, but wouldn't like the walk across the car park from pub to room block on a cold, wet night.
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Hospitable staff. Good cooking. Comfortable sleeping accommodation in a modern motel-style building located at the rear of this unspoilt 17th century inn.
Food beer, wine staff
The Wifi in the rooms is very weak
This is a country pub in a small village with rooms. It is that rare thing - a pub used by the locals, who are very friendly. Good choice of beers, I particularly liked Revenge, but at 5.3% ABV it packs a punch! Good food at supper & also at breakfast. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
Great cooked breakfast. All very tasty and fresh. Bar staff v friendly.
Young lady who was serving breakfast didn't engage with people arriving for breakfast ie didn't replied to 'good morning' greeting when I said at the doorway nor again at the table, when taking my order, I thought perhaps she hasn't heard me 1st time. Set up of the tables could be improved, in a breakfast room. Didn't like sitting in a middle of the room as other tables were not cleared. It wasn't private enough I felt I was put on a spot. Also signs to the inn were obscured from the main road so I've driven in a circular way. Bit frustrating after a long day. The room could benefit from :bathroom- needs to be dusted off and painted. No a hook on a bathroom door for hanging, broken and bathroom door doesn't close, the lach didn't work.I booked twin room, however, beds were only 3 inches apart. This is ok if you staying with a member of a family perhaps but not acceptable if not.
We loved the quiet situation of the inn, the picturesque surroundings and the proximity to the busy south without being involved in it. The staff made us most welcome .
It's in a lovely quaint village, very friendly landlord and his wife. Makes you want to return. It in an ideal situation for hat we needed. Therefore recommend to friends & family.
Good food. Welcoming attitude.
Access to bedside light switch
The atmosphere in the pub and the locals made us feel so welcome.
Location was good, breakfast was good
Room was dirty, dusty and in need of modernising
Very pretty pub, our meals were excellent (pub grub menu). Staff, locals and other travellers were incredibly friendly, which made for a lovely evening
You need to allow the hot water a Long time to come through in the bathroom, but it does arrive!
friendly staff, pretty location, quiet rooms
The staff could not have been friendlier and went out of their way to give us an enjoyable break. So helpful. Good food and comfortable.
Loved the village, our host Andrew and wife very welcoming and made for a most pleasant stay. Meals were good, and the setting just beautiful. Good car parking.
Limited Wifi and as travellers from Australia made it difficult to keep in touch with family. (We did have a family member become seriously ill during our stay)
The location was OK - if you prefer being far away from everything, the breakfast was OK.
The room smelled terrible, mouldy - the floors needed hovering urgently, there were quite a lot of animals in the room (spiders, flying insects,...) - we simply did not feel good there! Everything looked used ... rotten! I defenitley will never come back!!!
Within 15 minutes of entering the bar it was as though I had known everyone for ages. Great conversation, great service, super food and exceptional hosts. Will return
Having to leave........
Friendly staff, good food
A very restful and quiet break, with excellent food. Good range of beers and good company.
Excellent breakfast. Lovely and quiet location.
Uncomfortable bed - could feel the insides of the mattress. Loads of daddy-longlegs lurking in corners! The shower was either scalding or freezing - nothing inbetween.
We had a most enjoyable evening there the staff were friendly and efficient, the evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast.
