We have owned The Half Moon Inn for 21 years, it is a friendly welcoming village Inn. The art of conversation lives on here. We are proud to be a traditional English pub, we are not a flat-packed pub company outlet or a sage green and calico coloured gastro venue. We care about our real ales and ciders and our house wines are consistently popular.

Really tasty food. Great beers - well kept. The skittle alley is a real bonus.
The room, the shower, the pub, everything.
I had not taken note of the opening hours
The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating.
Its a great local, well used & welcoming to its guests.
Nothing not to like
Comfortable, well equipped accommodation. Great pub food and brilliant breakfast. Friendly staff.
Electric power shower could do with a bit more flow, that's just how they are. But to be fair, replacement with a pumped supply is a major re-plumbing issue with big investment. So its no big deal.
Very friendly staff Good food Great Ales Log fire Clean bed
Not easy to find in the dark...
SPIDERS, but hey it is the countryside!
Welcoming host. Good selection of ale
Tried to book the hotel directly and they put the phone down on me! Therefore, you may be better booking through bookings.com A few spiders in the room, I counted 6, not an issue for me personally.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice beer and a nice meal. Peaceful location.
Bed a bit hard.
Excellent food and lovely quiet positiion.
The welcome, the food, the beer.
Restricted check in/out hours; difficulty in finding anyone on arrival; Bar a bit scruffy in places (but still a good place for a meal) A bit expensive compared to the 4 star Bournemouth hotel we stayed in earlier same week. We had good weather, but wouldn't like the walk across the car park from pub to room block on a cold, wet night.
Location; External appearance; really nice staff (once you could find them); great food; nice bedroom (if a bit plain) and modern bathroom; peaceful;Casquemark for well kept beer (very nice it was, too) and a good hygiene rating
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Hospitable staff. Good cooking. Comfortable sleeping accommodation in a modern motel-style building located at the rear of this unspoilt 17th century inn.
The Wifi in the rooms is very weak
Food beer, wine staff
This is a country pub in a small village with rooms. It is that rare thing - a pub used by the locals, who are very friendly. Good choice of beers, I particularly liked Revenge, but at 5.3% ABV it packs a punch! Good food at supper & also at breakfast. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
Young lady who was serving breakfast didn't engage with people arriving for breakfast ie didn't replied to 'good morning' greeting when I said at the doorway nor again at the table, when taking my order, I thought perhaps she hasn't heard me 1st time. Set up of the tables could be improved, in a breakfast room. Didn't like sitting in a middle of the room as other tables were not cleared. It wasn't private enough I felt I was put on a spot. Also signs to the inn were obscured from the main road so I've driven in a circular way. Bit frustrating after a long day. The room could benefit from :bathroom- needs to be dusted off and painted. No a hook on a bathroom door for hanging, broken and bathroom door doesn't close, the lach didn't work.I booked twin room, however, beds were only 3 inches apart. This is ok if you staying with a member of a family perhaps but not acceptable if not.
Great cooked breakfast. All very tasty and fresh. Bar staff v friendly.
We loved the quiet situation of the inn, the picturesque surroundings and the proximity to the busy south without being involved in it. The staff made us most welcome .
It's in a lovely quaint village, very friendly landlord and his wife. Makes you want to return. It in an ideal situation for hat we needed. Therefore recommend to friends & family.
Access to bedside light switch
Good food. Welcoming attitude.
The atmosphere in the pub and the locals made us feel so welcome.
Room was dirty, dusty and in need of modernising
Location was good, breakfast was good
You need to allow the hot water a Long time to come through in the bathroom, but it does arrive!
Very pretty pub, our meals were excellent (pub grub menu). Staff, locals and other travellers were incredibly friendly, which made for a lovely evening
friendly staff, pretty location, quiet rooms
