We loved the quiet situation of the inn, the picturesque surroundings and the proximity to the busy south without being involved in it. The staff made us most welcome .
It's in a lovely quaint village, very friendly landlord and his wife. Makes you want to return. It in an ideal situation for hat we needed. Therefore recommend to friends & family.
Good food. Welcoming attitude.
Access to bedside light switch
The atmosphere in the pub and the locals made us feel so welcome.
Location was good, breakfast was good
Room was dirty, dusty and in need of modernising
friendly staff, pretty location, quiet rooms
The staff could not have been friendlier and went out of their way to give us an enjoyable break. So helpful. Good food and comfortable.
The location was OK - if you prefer being far away from everything, the breakfast was OK.
The room smelled terrible, mouldy - the floors needed hovering urgently, there were quite a lot of animals in the room (spiders, flying insects,...) - we simply did not feel good there! Everything looked used ... rotten! I defenitley will never come back!!!
Within 15 minutes of entering the bar it was as though I had known everyone for ages. Great conversation, great service, super food and exceptional hosts. Will return
Having to leave........
Friendly staff, good food
A very restful and quiet break, with excellent food. Good range of beers and good company.
Excellent breakfast. Lovely and quiet location.
Uncomfortable bed - could feel the insides of the mattress. Loads of daddy-longlegs lurking in corners! The shower was either scalding or freezing - nothing inbetween.
We had a most enjoyable evening there the staff were friendly and efficient, the evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast.
Room was clean and spacious, with a large wet room. The pub had a large selection of ales and was a nice place to relax in. Staff were very polite and helpful. A good place to stay.
Quiet location,friendly staff,comfortable room
Twin room a little cramped for sitting, ok for sleeping
Run by extremely friendly and helpful people.Very clean and comfortable.
Hard to find the first time.
The village, pretty flowers, old stone houses, a village pond, the parish church. In the pub everyone was friendly, the food was good and the bedroom was quiet and comfortable.
Only being able to stay one night
Location is really good and food excellent.
Broadband was hard to keep running
Lovely pub and accommodation with great food and friendly staff.
Great little pub, wonderful host and hostess (offered a free lift into Sturminster Newton), beautiful setting, everything first class - a very enjoyable stay.
Nothing to dislike.
Lovely country pub. Fine old building, good range of beers. Accommodation is in separate buildings to the rear of the pub, so noise from the pub wouldn't be a problem if you wanted an early night. Our room was one of the standard rooms. Easily large enough for a stay of more than a couple of nights, plenty of space to unpack into. Room nice and clean. Breakfast was good and tasty, the bacon was excellent.
The breakfast is unexciting if you're vegetarian. Broadly what a carnivore gets but without the meat.
By far the best inn I've been in the UK. Everything was great, I would definitely come back again :-)
Good Beer. Good food with an excellent locally sourced cheese board. Spent a pleasant evening listening to a group of amateur musicians.
great location , quiet with good parking facilities. The pub itself was very quiet the night i was their but staff were friendly and the ales were good. Breakfast was good value being full English within the price paid. Not flashy but a good honest pub with good accommadation at a great price.
I stayed in one of the three "out building" rooms which although a large size were decorated to a functional level reflected in the price. Nice bed though!
Owner was very inviting and upgraded us. He also owned a small comfy pub where we had dinner. Horsing ton is a lovely country area.
