location easy access to favourite places
low banisters making stairs difficult. shower in need of refurbishing.
Character of the building and its proximity to both the Cotswolds and the Stratford on Avon area.
Plumbing in the including the shower was not very good, but probably due to the age of the building.
Lovely restaurant and attractive bar area and outside patio area. Close to Stratford upon Avon. Was nice overall but not as great as we had been lead to believe. Comfortable bed and nice breakfast. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked and smelt lovely!
Room seemed a bit half finished. No curtains just a blind, walls had white paint over some parts as if they were about to be decorated. No mirror in the room. I like rustic but this was just a bit too rough around the edges!
Good accommodation and you can take your dog with you
Traffic noise throughout night as on main road
Room size Breakfast Courtyard for evening meal and drinks
Noisy room due to traffic noise
Silly size single bed & couldn't open window.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
The floor outside the shower in the Shared Moment room was very unstable - it needs to be mended.
Lovely room and great food both at dinner and breakfast.
Beer in the square, on a hot day. Best fish n chips ever in a hotel.
Having to leave, the staff are great.
Its a little gem and fair value for money..Excellent food , best breakfast ever..
have to be careful of low timber beam in Top rooms.. Although a feature its in a place that you have to duck or it is grouse..
Stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The staff were very attentive and the food was really good. Had our dinner in the courtyard which was really nice. Definitely stay here again!
Would have liked a larger room.
Perfect hotel for us, we had our 7 month puppy with us, we had a room on the ground floor onto the courtyard which was perfect for her. They allowed us to take her into breakfast with us as we didn't want to leave her alone In the room incase she caused chaos! All the staff were very helpful and made us feel relaxed, as we have been places before which have said dog friendly but they weren't. We ate there both nights and they food was very good. Would defiantly stay here again.
Excellent staff, very helpful and polite. Lovely food, comfortable room.
Had to have the window open all night due to hot weather, so could hear the traffic, but it wouldn't put us off going again, it was just one of those things.
The communal parts of The Halford - the bar and restaurant and were really nice. The courtyard in particular was wonderful, especially with the hot weather we enjoyed. It is ideally situated for touring the north Cotswolds,
The room we had was very small. There was nowhere to store our one suitcase as the wardrobe can't have been more than 12" deep. The bathroom was more like a walk in cupboard. The plumbing arrangements left much to be desired (when the taps were run in the hand basin there was an almighty stink), and the shower was scalding hot. The food, whilst perfectly acceptable, was nothing special. Overall, we were a little disappointed and I cannot see how the four star rating can have been achieved.
The Shared Moment Room was very clean and very comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent,Staff were very friendly and helpful, will most definitely stay at the Halford again.
Booking.com stated blenheim palace was 11 miles away from the hotel this was a nonsense and 25 miles was more the distance also other people staying at the Halford for the purpose of visiting the cla gamefair at blenheim where just as misled. Booking.com really need to address this matter as the hotel were unaware of this statement
Location; staff; food. Room overall.
Room windows difficult to operate. Steps down to shower room should have hand rails!
Pleasant hotel with dinner although not very imaginative! I probably would not stay again!
The hotel suffers from being like a rabbit warren with too many stairs, awkward corridors and obstructions in the corridors! Kitchen closes early and dinner not available past 2130hrs! Poor ventilation in the rooms so stuffy and too much road noise!
Very good breakfast . We left behind something and staff was very kind to send it to us. A very nice hotel to stay to visit The Cotswolds
Can't think of one bad thing
The bar area atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. The breakfast was very nice whilst the evening meal was of a very high quality and worth every penny. The courtyard was pleasant and the courtyard room was fab.
Our original room at the front of the hotel was slightly noisy, owing to traffic, but reception offered an alternative as soon as one became available. No other issues.
Staff especially were a credit to the hotel. Breakfasts 1st rate. Dinners excellent too. Husband loved the beer on offer.
Road noisy but we had a back room so ok even though we needed the window open.
staff were lovely and breakfast was good. Therapist on site is lovely and has a fab treatment room.
dinner was overpriced and over complicated. olives were horrible and we had them removed from the bill, shower was awful! I thought I may need to wash my hair in the sink after as pressure was so low and the shower didn't drain for hours. Walls were paper thin we could hear the neighbours sneezing and snoring! we actually left early rather than staying the extra night, this place is in need of an update. we still had to pay even though we didn't stay the extra night.
