Real Ales, fine wines, superb food and a warm welcome await you. The interior retains an old world charm with log fires, stone walls and oak beams.

Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast Friendly Staff Good value Best Hotel bed for a very long time Very good quality and warm bedding
Cold en-suite, mind it was -4C outside.
The hotel retained the character of a former coaching inn, the staff were friendly and quick to serve. The breakfast period was generous as was the array of breakfast food on offer.
Not a case of not liking but the evening menu was limited and not refreshed during our four night stay, including New Years Eve. The quality of the cooking varied depending on the chef, although NY eve food very well cooked and served.
I booked The Halford for my parents to stay in over Christmas. My Mum is disabled and they bent over backwards to accommodate her needs. Not only that, the room, food, surroundings and staff were absolutely faultless!
Lovely old building, good restaurant, spectacular breakfasts and staff all tgoroughly professional, extremely helpful and keen to please.
Toilets are a bit noisy because they've had to retro-fit modern plumbing into an old building. The main road outside can be fairly busy at peak hours.
good food, very handy location, friendly staff and good beer
good food very pleasant and helpful staff very quaint building very relaxing
The room was lovely, a suite in the attic called Shared Moment. Plenty of character with roll top bath, a massive comfy bed and 2 TVs! Meal in restaurant was tasty, as was breakfast. Nice and quiet and very well placed for a trip to compton verney
A few tacky bits of writing around the building and on the toilet seat! We could not get a wifi connection.
Staff very friendly, this hotel was popular with both local people and those travelling through the area.
Staff were excellent building was lovely the courtyard is amazing the suite is lovely everyone on the team were really friendly and helpful it looks lovely, it is lovely
the locals were obnoxious the bathroom was a little tatty and worn
The manager Jose was really excellent. Very professional and right on the ball.
Everything apart from the sleep quality
A room that sounded like it was next to a motorway. Sorry.
Super sized, very clean & comfortable room across the courtyard was well set up for having pets with a clean dog bed & bowls (we took two cats who also had a great time). The evening meal & service was excellent. Although we had to leave early (7am) & had to miss the "Award Winning Breakfast" (an award given in July, 2014) we were given two excellent Breakfast Bags. All in all great value for money & well worth the stay. Roy, Stoke-on-Trent
We only stayed one night in this attractive hotel but would do so again if passing. The dinner and breakfast was very good and the staff friendly. They served some excellent local beer.
The local selection of beer unfortunately ran out after one pint.
Good size room and good breakfast.
Limited opening windows in room, very stuffy. On hindsight perhaps should have asked for another room. There was a constant noise of some sort that kept whirring and stopping, possibly heating? But not in the actual room.
Helpful, friendly staff. Good food Lovely old building with up to date facilities and decor.
Sausage at breakfast was below par but thats all!
Nice friendly atmosphere, only stayed one night but would stay there again. Having a meal a bit later wasn't a problem. Breakfast was served from 8am but we requested it a bit earlier, again, this want a problem.
Only complaint would be that the room was way too hot for me , that's only my personal opinion , I'm sure it would be fine for the majority .

Excellent food and very friendly staff.
Shower waste needs changing to a deep seal trap as at present the waste from wash hand basin back flows
The Halford provided comfortable accommodation with good food and is ideally situated for visiting the lovely towns/villages of the Cotswolds without having to travel miles & miles.
The only downside with the Halford, in our view, was the lack of a chest of drawers in the bedroom as we only had a small wardrobe with a shelf so putting clothes away was a bit of a problem - but we survived! One thing we did find out was that the local pubs do not cook food on a Sunday evening! We are spoilt for choice where we live so that didn't go down well!
The food was excellent
The room was clean, the staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was excellent. I would definitely stay again
The floors were very uneven which was difficult to negotiate for my mother.
Brilliant loacation with easy access all main roads and plently of free parking. The rooms in general did not disappoint, very comfortable. Cosy hotel. Food including the breakfast was to a good standard. All this came with helpful and friendly service. Lived up to reviews that I went by when booking.
Patchy wifi coverage. Rooms got warm at night but standing fans were provided. Really having to think hard about any negatives!
location easy access to favourite places
low banisters making stairs difficult. shower in need of refurbishing.
- The bed was comfortable - Galaxy hot chocolate in the room - Breakfast and dinner were both served promptly
- Shower had very little power behind it - it was more of a drizzle. - There was a 2 inch gap under the door to my room so any noise from the corridor or neighbouring room was clearly heard. - The chandalier in my room had cobwebs all over it so clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. - When requesting breakfast at 7am (opposed to 8am like many of the other guests) the owner pulled a clearly dissatified face. - I found a hair in my chicken salad. - I was asked twice at breakfast if I wanted a tea or coffee - both times I asked for coffee - but never received it, despite being the only guest having breakfast at that time. - I was told upon arrival that the wi-fi 'wasn't great' - this translated to it just didn't work at all. There was also terrible phone signal coverage so it was not ideal for a business trip when I needed to get on emails and make calls.
