Ambience Helpful staff Beautiful views from front rooms Great breakfast Warmth
Bit flaky Wi Fi Restaurant closed for evening meal in January
Peace and quiet, lovely view over the bay.Breakfast very good quality.
Shame the resturant was not open
Big room, big bath and shower, but warm and cosy. Fantasic sea views. Breakfast was 5 star with a wonderful fresh selection of everything!
Noisey neighbours in the early hours.
A rare find on the IOW to have aboutique hotel combination with fine dining! The staff were attentive but not imposing & our overall stay was both relaxing with a touch of luxury.
fantastic location, only a moment from the beach. the room (number 5) was large, with a great sea view. we had a very comfy bed. nice bathroom. and the coffee pod machine was a nice touch.
the hotel is no more than a restaurant with a few letting rooms. and not what i would consider to be 5 star. (but maybe the star rate is for the restaurant.) but the rooms are very over priced. our room was sparse, rather than minimal, and the sofa you could not sit on as it doubled as a bed, and tipped forward, which made you feel like you were sliding off. breakfast on the first day was great, the second morning we were reduced to half portions, not so great!! when we checked out, and paid (£360 for 2 nights b&b mid week) we did tell the lady at reception, about our disappointment, but she was very affronted.
Everything about the Hambrough exceeded expectations. The food was particularly awe inspiring: well judged flavours, textures and colours. Excellent service - attentive, considerate and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Hambrough for the quality of its food and accommodation.
I arrived in a bad mood (nothing to do with the hotel) and was unreasonably grumpy about the fact that we couldn't park right outside but the staff were brilliant and helped us unload. We parked nearby. If guests have mobility issues they would need make sure they had enough help with parking, stairs etc.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner we had on the Tuesday evening was absolutely fantastic.
The wifi connection wasn't particularly fantastic.
Excellent Views- worth paying for Friendly and helpful staff Tasteful, beautiful rooms Good restaurants in Ventnor View of the sea from the bath
Not cheap, but not overpriced
Good view. Clean rooms and towels every day. Breakfast. Staff
The fierce looking dog on the first floor. the steep stairs. Staff squeezing the nearly full toothpaste tube. Staff not replacing the broken fridge of our relatives room. Staff not giving us a parking card until our last day of stay (we were there for 6 days).
After an initial problem with my room reservation, the hotel management couldn't have been more helpful, or welcoming. The bedroom was well-equipped, clean, and with a very comfortable bed. The dinner was of outstanding quality and presentation, with superb service from Mikal, the restaurant manager, and his team. As a seasoned traveller, I would thoroughly recommend the Hambrough.
Room and bath with a great sea view. Tasteful decor. Bed sheets high quality. Breakfast nice.
Noise from disco on nearby seafront until midnight. Top floor room and the roof creaked disturbingly when breezy. It was like a night on HMS Victory! A planned quiet weekend was spoiled . One of three staff encountered was lovely. No parking at hotel with a steep walk with suitcase back to hotel from car park. No lift to top floor. TV didn't work but naked by that time and so didn't bother to call reception! Price paid was not as per confirmation email (175 vs 210) but didn't notice until I got home (doh!).
I loved the staff and the location. Plus the food in the restaurant was truly superb
Room was uninspiring, comfortable enough but sofa had seen better days. Some fruit or biscuits in the room would have been nice for the fairly hefty price
no lift no air co
The bedroom was very spacious and beautifully, yet simply, furnished. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was large and had everything you might need. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous, definitely michelin star quality, exceptional cuisine, highly recommended.
the location was great the food fantastic and stuff was very welcoming
the hotel was clean and comfortable, nothing out of the ordinary.
have stayed in more comfortable and impressive places for less money. Over priced for what you get.
The staff, accommodation, food and standard of service were flawless. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent, beautiful junior suite
Brilliant location in charming Ventnor. Very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious breakfasts overlooking the sea. Very nice rooms.
Excellent service, excellent food, friendly staff and lovely room
Very late check in and quite early check out for prices
Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Location was great and views from sea-facing rooms must be excellent.
The room was spacious and comfortable with a fabulous sea view. Very restful. Stylish decor.
The restaurant was closed for dinner (Sunday). Expensive.
Absolutely lovely room with great views, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic!! And staff were very polite and helpful. Also was a tastefully decorated hotel.
The wifi was very slow and the run down building at the bottom of the road/on the cliff path ruined the view slightly, Obviously this isn't the hotels fault though. I don't recall seeing any tea making facilities in the room either although the coffee machine was a nice touch.
Amazing stay, staff were friendly and facilities were outstanding. Stayed in the suit with a balcony overlooking the sea beautiful sight.
Thoughtful touches like fresh milk in the mini bar. Very comfortable room with lovely sea view and balcony. We could hear the waves crashing below. Cleanest bathroom ever. Stylish breakfast.
