Good size room and bed - Delighted with the Tea Pot to make that much needed cup of tea and the fresh milk a great idea. Noted fresh coffee available in the room too! Great shower and good size TV.
Old Duvet and feather pillow option would have been appreciated. Room furnished a little to dark for our liking - perhaps a splash of colour would be an idea. Towel Rail in bathroom not working.
The double shower was so great we booked a return stay there and then !
as above, plus helpful staff.
Room, breakfast, pleasant staff.
Food was excellent
room was very comfortable, and the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. The full breakfast filled us up for the whole day!!
Quiet and excellent breakfast
Poor quality reception and bar staff. No view.
Location was good
Service in restaurant was slow as they were busy !!! Food quality and helpings were ok without being great. Expected to wowed but wasn't
Easily accessible location, capacious car park, friendly helpful staff at reception and restaurant, large and well equipped room, comfortable bed, fabulous double shower, thoughtful selection of tea/coffee facilities, nice and quiet night, excellent full English breakfast. Id happily go back. Highly recommended
No view from ground floor window but in fairness I didn't ask for a room with a view
Pleasant staff, clean large room, some very nice touches like fresh milk available in the room.
Slightly disappointed with the food on the one night we had a meal. It was ok but not presented as we would have liked and not too tasty. Good breakfast. Think this may be us and that many people would have found it very good.
Everyone was friendly, and the restaurant was good - we had steaks and everybody said how lovely they were. Rooms were clean and quiet, and the place wasn't overly busy. Plenty of carparking and handy for Portsmouth
Pillows were a bit lumpy, and the bath looked a bit tired
Everything couldn't find fault thank you
The room was bit hot during the night
Good out of town location for the Portsmouth ferry. (10 miles from port). Good choice and quality of food for dinner and breakfast. Generous sized rooms. Parking for motorcycle. I would use again.
Staff made you feel realty welcome. Very cosy atmosphere with a good bar selection of drinks & food available.
Standard of accommodation was excellent.Breakfast was good.
The bath lacked a grab rail to hold on to which is useful for the older client..
Food was good
Having stayed there several times this time it seemed a bit dated and there was cobwebs etc in room. Heating didnt work they said they would have to get someone out but not that night so it was cold..the bathroom needed a good de mould and the toilet seat was broken which they fixed. .
The friendliness of the staff, quietness of the bedroom, good variety of beers, food choice very good. Breakfast to die for. Nice discreet parking around the back.
fabulous stay.. even had a cafetiere and real milk in the room. Will definitely return.
close to main road / easy to find
no milk in the rooms for the tea / coffee etc
was only fair the rooms were not bad as we were only stopping over night but we thought the price was a bit steep
when ordering meals not got what they had on menue meals were not very hot in all would not recommend this place to any one even though they took the price of one meal off felt sorry for the waitresses as they were very sweet and tried to help
The bed we had the best night sleep ever and food was fantastic breakfast was excellent
There was not much choice on the menu for main meals my partner could only have chicken because she don't eat fish or beef so I think you look into that
Efficient, friendly staff. Nice bar setting.
Horrible location, nothing to do in immediate vicinity. Rooms are ok but a bit depressing, being brown. Towels are old. Huge amount of noise from corridor at nighttime as people pass by. Not sufficiently soundproofed in other words. Food was not good; overcooked fishcakes, no brown bread with smoked salmon, stewed tea at breakfast, ribs with no sauce.
Large rooms, friendly staff and good food.
