Score from 56 reviews Very good
Standard of accommodation was excellent.Breakfast was good.
The bath lacked a grab rail to hold on to which is useful for the older client..
Food was good
Having stayed there several times this time it seemed a bit dated and there was cobwebs etc in room. Heating didnt work they said they would have to get someone out but not that night so it was cold..the bathroom needed a good de mould and the toilet seat was broken which they fixed. .
The friendliness of the staff, quietness of the bedroom, good variety of beers, food choice very good. Breakfast to die for. Nice discreet parking around the back.
fabulous stay.. even had a cafetiere and real milk in the room. Will definitely return.
close to main road / easy to find
no milk in the rooms for the tea / coffee etc
was only fair the rooms were not bad as we were only stopping over night but we thought the price was a bit steep
when ordering meals not got what they had on menue meals were not very hot in all would not recommend this place to any one even though they took the price of one meal off felt sorry for the waitresses as they were very sweet and tried to help
The bed we had the best night sleep ever and food was fantastic breakfast was excellent
There was not much choice on the menu for main meals my partner could only have chicken because she don't eat fish or beef so I think you look into that
Efficient, friendly staff. Nice bar setting.
Horrible location, nothing to do in immediate vicinity. Rooms are ok but a bit depressing, being brown. Towels are old. Huge amount of noise from corridor at nighttime as people pass by. Not sufficiently soundproofed in other words. Food was not good; overcooked fishcakes, no brown bread with smoked salmon, stewed tea at breakfast, ribs with no sauce.
Large rooms, friendly staff and good food.
Facilities and room size and features.
They forgot my food?!
Good size rooms.
Price of drinks and it took 3 people to clear a spillage behind the bar before serving our drinks?
Everything great even fresh milk in the rooms no little pots. Staff friendly and efficient. Food excellent. Can not fault it.
Friendly welcome on arrival. Excellent place to stay..nice and quiet room and good place to relax. Ideally located with easy access to main towns and nearby South Downs. Overall good value for money.
The break was too short!
friendly staff spacious room fine decorated
poor wi-fi in the room lot of dust in the radiator and on the bulbs
Receptionist friendly Evening meal good Breakfast good
Restaurant service could be better. Expensive for the quality of room.
Loved the staff - soooo friendly. The room was great the pub and restaurant area excellent warm and friendly.
Bedroom cleanliness could be improved upon, inparticularly around the edges in the bathroom
room was very nice comfortable bed food very good value for money
bit too remote
The rooms were excellent, lovely and quiet and really comfortable bed, friendly staff
The room Wifi food clean shower
no where to go once at the hotel.
One of the staff (Mark) was exceptional, he found out it was our wedding anniversary and made our stay extra special with a bottle of wine on the house when we had our evening meal. Mark was friendly and polite and took good care of us throughout our stay
Lovely spacious room Comfortable bed Friendly staff Good value for money
Friendly staff everything was just as we wanted it. Convenient locality.
Staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very well cooked and had a number of different choices. Full English for hearty appetites! Comfortable sitting options both outside and in for evening meals or drinks. Quiz night was fun, but we were not very good.
Bedroom housekeeping was poor. Stayed 4 nights same linen on bed. Two nights had to remake bed as sheet was so crumpled. Duvet looked like it had just been thrown over without tidying sheet below. Dirty glass was left and water was not replenished on one day. Not acceptable for an establishment of this quality and price. Gossiping loudly in the corridor at 8.30 am about very personal issues. Unacceptable and not professional.
fresh milk in fridge cleanliness quality of food was excellent, when it arrived
Wi-Fi speed dropped to non-existent when quiz night was on and wasn't accessible in one of the rooms we had - too far from the router?? level of lighting in the rooms was quite poor - it's great to save energy but reading by a bedside light that is only giving off about 20 watts does not help one's eyesight, neither does inly one low level light help when pouring hot water for drinks - can't actually see the level of liquid in the cups. Perhaps having some 'sweetener' as well as sugar would be helpful too, and a choice of plain biscuits? Choice of cereal such as standard muesli at breakfast would have been good too. Not trying to be negative as much is terrific, but the little things do make the difference!
location, staff, food was excellent
