Sound of the river
Not a lot
Was a bit tired
loved the location, had a band on who were really good
wasnt to keen on view overlooking graveyard
Pre of room was very reasonable for something that was very clean and comfortable
wifi didn't work so well in the room
The location was in the centre. With a lovely riverside garden and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was ok when it finally turned up (over 30 minutes after advertised ) it was a help yourself buffet. Leaving was great
No t.v signal, bathroom was damaged and very worn. Chipboard bath panel with unfinished edges showing and torn vinyl flooring. Carpets and beds thread bear. Breakfast over 30 minutes later than advertised. Entertainment was an organ player. He was a good organ player but I'm in my 30's ?. View was of a tatty roof and car park. Was given a family room instead of a double room as requested. It felt all a bit mis represented. Staff where not very professional.
Good location late bar and entertainment
Only 1 key and my friend slept in car until 6 as I was asleep and he could not wake me and when he went to desk a bit worse for alcohol no one there so paid for room and slept in car
Plenty of car parking, good breakfast, very good location.
It's fair to say the Hand has seen better days. Our room was ok but had a few minor issues and we found the bed hard and uncomfortable. Free WiFi should have read " WiFi free" as we could only get a signal in the reception, at least the reception sofas were soft and comfortable. Its just a bit old and tired. Staff also a bit hit & miss "I don't know, you'll need at ask Karl" isn't that helpful, Karl could you please identify yourself! Far from terrible but probably wouldn't stay here again.
Good Location. Good price. Good parking. Free WiFi
Reception not always manned. Hotel a little drab.
the bed was too old. the springs were almost coming out from the mattress.
Location near the centre of town and close to the river, view from dining room over the river and the hill beyond. Convenient for walking or or activities.
No presence in reception A bit of a rabbit warren - lots of stairs, corridors and doors to navigate before getting to my room. A bit basic for the price. Noise from the band on Saturday night till12.00 despite being a distance from the room it was in.
Room & view breakfast proximity to town breakfast
Rock band playing directly under my bedroom on Sat night Chefs inability to cook a steak rare. Being in the back room of the restaurant alone due to group booking in main room.
Friendly helpful staff
A very convenient hotel in a beautiful town. All our needs were catered for. Thank you.
Nice and quiet. .. good location. .
No one on reception on arriving there, waited for 15 minutes.
the view from our room. reception were helpful.
the bar was often unattended. the food was disappointing. the foyer on the morning we checked out was totally full of school children who would not move out the way. the bathroom had bad lighting & poor water pressure.
I was visiting Llangollen for the first time ..I was there to see "Ferocious Dog" a band a bit like the Levellers who were playing at The Sun pub down the road...the hotel was perfectly situated for a night out xxx
Although in the middle of town it was still quiet in the room. Good breakfast Good view of river from window
Lot of stairs to drag a suitcase up. No WiFi in room
Good location. Easy parking. Staff generally helpful. Quiet sItting room available if asked for.
A bit dowdy. Noisy bar.
Quite nice location in mid-town overlooking river, with riverbank hotel gardens across the street. Some rooms must have a river view, though not ours. Free hotel car park. Our room was smallish but competitively priced (see dislikes, however). Breakfast OK and restaurant seemed pretty clean. We can't comment on dinner since we ate elsewhere, but the menu looked interesting.
In our room the mattress springs were large and prominent. Despite a thin pad they made sleeping very difficult and very uncomfortable. Hot water took 5 to 10 minutes to arrive at the hot tap for the shower. Missing light bulb and one or two other things in need of repair. We did use the glossy feedback form !!
The location of the Hand is excellent and the on site parking was good, breakfast was also adequate.
I booked this hotel as my wife and I honeymooned in Llangollen 48 years ago albeit at a different hotel and whilst we have been there on numerous occasions since, we decided to try a one-night stay on the strength that there was a Rock & Roll band advertised for Saturday night. The band never materiallised it appears that the hotel was informed that the group had rang 3 weeks before but the message was not passed on. The hotel has seen better days and would benefit from an update sooner rather than later.
Lovely little town, good shopping
views, location all very good
some aspects could do with a bit of an update but still a nice place to stay
Receptionist was helpful
Other staff really are in the wrong line of work and the pile of vomit near the reception/smoker's area in the morning just about said it all
Nice hotel right in the town centre. Very comfortable, highly recommended
Location Breakfast included Friendly staff
Basic room - but fine considering the cost.
