Cant think of anything
Room cold, car park was full, very noisy music from bar, wifi useless, TV hanging off wall, breakfast could have been better, cutlery at table dirty.
The buffet breakfast is excellent, good choice, staff friendly, location is perfect and the view of the river Dee is fabulous, good atmosphere with resident ghosts included.
Breakfast was ok
Freezing room with tiny electric heater, tiny freezing cold bathroom that was so small the sink was in bedroom area! Bed was extremely uncomfortable, pillows were dreadful! Not value for money. Won't be staying again.
Long walks in beautiful surroundings.
Location is fantastic,
Location was amazing but it went downhill from there. Bed needed replacing, pillows were awful, receptionist needs a bit of PR training. As the title says 'Could do better'
Overall experience was excellent.
Did get a smell of smoke in our room. Maybe from previous occupants. Could smell it all night.
Location, bedroom view to the river.Good breakfast!
Nothing to dislike!
Comfort, friendliness, fantastic views of river, beautiful area. Price of room, fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend.
Very cold dinning room .
Location & breakfast good
Firstly the overall stale smell when we walked in the door. Unfriendly welcome. Told no band were on when advertised every saturday night. No lift or help with luggage. Hotel corridors very cold. When reached the top floor complete darkness as no lights on and no switch for them. No lights upstairs were on the whole time. We struggled to get the key in the door due to being dark and locks out of the 70s. Room was clean but very old fashioned. Refurb just consists of new bedding and curtains and a lick of paint in the bathroom. Furniture out of the 80s. Small tv which the ariel was out. The hotel looked as if it is next to the water. However, you need to cross the road. Then the patio anyway was padlocked.
River view from the restaurant
We were freezing all night. The heating system was Victorian. No heating in the bathroom and a faulty rail heater so that the towels remained cold and wet until the morning
breakfast was good buffet style. maids did well.
shower didnt work properley(broken showerhead) and we were in a superior suite, which wasnt much different to a standard double room maybe a bit bigger. room was cold so electric heater was left on all day and night. woken by a false fire alarm early saturday morning, no apologies..no music/band on, as it was january and too quiet? yet pubs were full?.....
Staff helpfull bar well stocked room clean
Bed a bit firm
Very friendly and helpful staff, luxurious bedding and linen, location couldn't be bettered with river views from some bedrooms.
Nothing major, the continental breakfast option should include some ham and cheese, but the fantastic sausages made up for it. If you want wifi in your room ask for a room in range, most aren't, but it's fine in the public areas.
There is no wifi signal in the room only at the lobby
location good value friendly
Breakfast was good.
I booked a twin room as there were no double rooms left. The room was freezing and the bathroom even colder. One bed was so lumpy as the springs were coming through and the other so hard it gave my fiancé a bad back. A very uncomfortable stay
We didn't particularly 'like' anything - but the room was clean, warm and adequate. Nothing special but it suited the purpose of our stay.
Well - here we go! There was no staff on reception on arrival. Had to hunt someone down! All the public areas were freezing cold - it was uncomfortable to be anywhere in the hotel other than in your room. The breakfast was appalling! Without a doubt the WORST breakfast I have ever attempted to eat - undercooked egg, raw bacon, cremated sausage. Just vile! After complaining and giving the chef a second stab at it I got burnt egg, raw bacon and cremated sausage. Result! Avoid the breakfast in the stone cold dining room.
The town and surrounding area were beautiful
It was cold, electric heaters were not adequate. Buffet breakfast was poor. Reception staff weren't interested in us. No WiFi. It was expensive.
had lots of character. Breakfast was good. Ideal location.
headboard was dirty. Mold in room. No heating. Decor was very old fashioned.
The food, evening meal in the restaurant was lovely, the staff and the location. They were really helpful. The bar had friendly locals who chatted to you. The local shops still open at five on Christmas eve. The midnight mass in the church next door. The wonderful singing.
Hot water in room had to be run for a long time then got too hot. Bath lovely shower hit and miss. Double bed mattress in room 31 needs upgrading.
Lovely room with a view of the river and was spacious and friendly staff
all staff vary friendly
