Disintegrating toilet seat with swollen chipboard exposed. Crisps on pillows on arrival. Little more than grunts from reception and staff.

That the staff was helpful when they were working during daytime and the room was cheap.

That a couple next door tried to sort out their relationship issues the whole night. When I tried to call the hotel reception I didn't get any answer either from the reception or the mobile number that you should call in the case of an emergency. So I didn't get any sleep at all that night!!

    Nothing. A huge disappointment.

Shabby overall. Very uncomfortable hard cheap bed. Came home with insect (?flea) bites from one overnight sleepless stay on that bed. Only a boiled egg for the "cooked" part of the breakfast - laid out in an egg rack with other cold boiled eggs! No overhead light bulb in room, loose door handles in room,a tiny ANCIENT tv with fuzzy text and picture - attached at a neck-wrenching angle from the bed. Hall telephone out of order, bedroom curtains which dropped off the edge of the rails when gently drawn back. The whole place should be inspected by the local Council, and needs to be upgraded in respect of maintenance and hygiene. It is the sort of B&B which gives Britain a bad name to visitors from overseas.

One experienced staff member was helpful and friendly. The room was available early in the morning ( 9.00 a,M. ) after a long international flight this was really appreciated. The Lodge was located on the main road with a bus stop nearby.

Plumbing repairs required for the bathroom ensuite : I.E. shower drain tray was blocked and one of the hand basin taps was loose at the base. Dusting in the bedroom could be improved and window cleaning of the conservatory may result in more foot traffic customers. Computer was too slow to use, public telephone in the hallway was out of order.
