great location comfy bed lovely breakfast
shower hard to regulate
Most of the hotel has undergone refurbishment and we would definitely stay there again. Food was very good too.
Staff helpful location good bar area good in middle of restoration so when its done it will all be good
Great location Modern Room Friendly Staff Good value for money
Wifi was slow Few areas that need touching up after renovation (nothing major)
Very friendly and helpful staff. Fast service. Open kitchen. Spacious public areas and a buzzing restaurant. Very good coffee. Great location. Good value for money. I would definitely stay here again.
I can accept that renovations are on going, but it would be a good idea to finish one job before starting another. A bedside lamp would have been nice. The television in my room was so huge, only popcorn was missing. The menu was very basic and anything that needed more than basic prep was obviously bought in.
nice room with comfy bed and great bathroom. Good breakfast
Found drinks cheap,
Bar and restaurant nearly finished!
Worst nights sleep for 2 nights, never again. Need to close and finish refurbishment. Rooms unfurnished, out of date and very smelly!! Ditch beds and furniture and start again!! This bar was full of locals drinking and watching football on saturday night, very noisy and not a place for family, elderly..stairs dangerous, fire door didnt shut, cables out windows so could not shut, carpet ripped up in hallway when we were in the bedroom!! Dreadful weekend in this hotel!!
The location was very good. Although some building work was being done the room was very nice. The breakfast was huge . Would stay again
Nice modern room free wifi
Lumpy bed and no smoking area apart from the front of the hotel
The Hotel is under going a bit of work to offer travellers a good comfortable stay, the location is excellent the staff very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable also the breakfast was very nice indeed.
Stayed in refurbished room which was very nice & clean, when fully refurbished it will be a beautiful interior. Would highly benefit from double glazing.
The noise from customers, there was a couple arguing in the backyard until about 12.40am also I heard nearly all the trains during the night.
We was one of the fortunate guests to have been given a newly refurbed room, it was nicely decorated & comfy. The staff seemed quite friendly & helpful.
Being close to the rail lines you could hear trains all night long, you could hear people out in the street at all hours & I must have seen every hour on the clock. As this Hotel is having a refurb it would definitely benefit from double glazing to combat the noise problem.
Refurbished rooms are great. Food good and great selection of beers!
good all round service
Rooms were excellent
Unbeknown to us, the hotel was due for refurbishment on the day if arrival. We were at the bar when they decided to knock it down, right in front of us!! Payment was taken prior to is checking out in the morning. Rooms were excellent butvservice was poor!
The evening meal and breakfast was very good.
The hotel is now a completely gutted and noisy building site and is not in a safe or acceptable state to accept paying guests. We stayed for one night in a newly refurbished room at the rear of the hotel but did not get a good nights sleep due to the noise from a heat pump which kept switching on and off through out the night. Also the new double bed was very small and we could hear the TV in the next room. Unfortunately the TV in our room did not work properly due to our room having a very poor WIFI signal. I am sure that when the extensive resterations are complete it will be a more pleasant place to stay.
The new style rooms were very smart, all I needed for my stay. I would stay again
I understand building work is still on -going but 9am on the sunday morning was not good !! Maybe would of been nice to have been offered half price or free breakfast while this was going on within the hotel !!
A good location and a good breakfast (big)
Would like to come back when the refurb is finshed
Easy access to train station Very friendly staff Value for money
A bit chaotic due to construction work - no one in reception in the morning to take my keys Decor is very seventies and needs upgrading but appreciate efforts of friendly staff Slightly uneasy about security-maybe a lock system on entrance to floors Noise from outside Can see real potential but needs some attention!!
Friendly staff and good food
Having alot of work done
Refurbished rooms will be nice when finished. Very good staff attitude, very helpful. Free Wi Fi.
Hotel like a building site in parts. Too much bare plaster on view, etc. Need to finish off some rooms completely. Small car park.
it was reasonable price wise.
the building was under going some refinishing and building was very dirty the rooms were a discussing i wouldnt even pay £15.00 per night.
