Excellent room clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
Rather noisey as room overlooked main road and unfortunately workmen were also staying in the room opposite
Fabulous place .
That it was near to the town centre and train station.
The rooms are not all complete.... We all paid £50 per room and where some room had modern new decor, others still needed a lot of work doing. Think it is unfair that all the rooms are still the same price... My friends room still had bricks on the floor and a TVs resting on 2 chairs..... Complained and did not get any money back or apology.. Probably will not stay again....
I love the bar and restaurant, food lovely, staff friendly
The room was awful, loft hatch only partly on, all I heard all night was a water tank, we couldn't turn off bathroom light, all tatty and so small. With an adjoining door to the next room, we were kept awake by noisy men, as I went away for a rest it was very upsetting.
decor was lovely, everything you need in the room
too noisy being on main road ( our room was at the front) bed had a spring that stuck right in middle of my back shame really as had everything else you could need
The hotel was in an excellent location for the town, markets and sites, local pubs. it had a really lovely friendly atmosphere and warm and welcoming. The food was excellent great value. we would definately go there again.
Refurbished rooms were very comfortable. Some additional touches that set the hotel apart from run of the mill chain hotels, great value for money. Good range of menu choices, standard pub grub but the prices again reflect good value for money.
Staff I did see were pleasant and helpful.
They are undergoing refurb, the room was shabby, dark bathroom poorly light. The partition door to the next room didn't seal, I was woken up several times during the night, the phone in the room didn't work so I had to go looking for night porter. The manager didn't bother to come and see me to try and redress the complaint. Money is taken at time of booking. I will not go back or recommend.
Good size room with lovely bathroom Open and friendly bar
Zero vegan options on the menu, and only 2 vegi items both with cheese. Narrow corridor with a large case
Room could have been bigger. not really for two people. A little tight
I HAD A REFURBISHED ROOM AT THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL. THE ROOM WAS EXCELLENT FACILITIES WISE, BUT A BIT NOISY FROM THE HGV'S.
Big improvement on last visit
Room at front a bit noisy
The Harboro has undergone a substantial refurbishment in the bar and dining areas. We have visited and eaten there when visiting relatives for the past 20 years.
Our bedroom hadn't yet been refurbished. We had no remote for TV and the radiator didn't work. We did point these out but nothing resulted. However the electric fire provided did provide sufficient heat on which was a very cold night. The only breakfast available was a cooked one, apart from cereal and as there were no menus we were unaware of that until it was placed in front of us.
I have stayed before at this hotel and i was impressed with the refurbishment so far. Food was excellent and good value for money. I would recommend and going to book again for the summer.
I have one small criticism and when checking in we were not advised of the restaurant times and whether we needed to book an evening meal. You were just given your keys and room no: and when checked out there was no questions of how we found our stay and did it meet our requirements, however staff were very busy being the festive period just a minor observation.
I booked on internet. Sadly I clicked on wrong date, on arrival we were told we weren't expected until the next day. They shuffled the already full bookings to enable us to stay. Fantastic service. Breakfast was amazing. Well done everyone at the Harboro.
staff room meal breakfast
The staff were very friendly and the renovated room was good but the rest of the hotel was a building site.
Room on the first floor was above the public bar where smokers gathered outside - music was very loud and late! I asked to move room but was told no others available due to renovation - why not close the hotel until renovation is finished?? Will not be returning.
as a whole an excellent place with very well mannered staff
For the price paid, I can't believe how good this hotel was. The Public bar provided good food and beer, great value.
Slight mix up with booking but was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The improvements made since my last visit. The excellent "T-Bone" and breakfast. The very pleasant staff ( that includes the owner).
Nothing really. It is so easy to pick fault, accept things as they are, think along the lines, you get what you pay for.
Very close to train and town.
great location comfy bed lovely breakfast
shower hard to regulate
Most of the hotel has undergone refurbishment and we would definitely stay there again. Food was very good too.
