the welcome the staff the room the breakfast the location
no wi-fi coverage in our room at the back of the site, so if we'd been hoping to use it for work I guess we'd have had to go into the main building
Very nice independently run hotel. I was made very welcome on my arrival and the room was nice. I spent a while in the bar before going out for the evening, it was very welcoming and the bar staff extremely pleasant. It was a good location for me because I was visiting friends who live opposite.
There was nothing I was dissatisfied with.
wlecome, personal, value for money, good good source and well cooked, location
Nice in the pub area Very good food, but expensive for a pub. Staff where very helpful Nice and quiet
Rooms where good but looking a bit tiered.
staff food location room & bar all excellent we will definitely be back and recommend to others
Can't think of anything
everything was very nice nothing more to say really
The location and the look of the hotel were lovely. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and warm on a really cold night and there were plenty of drinks and nice biscuits. The breakfast was excellent and the staff and surroundings excellent.
We couldn't get the wifi to work very well in our room which was in an outside building.
We arrived early due to the time of the first race at Newbury races. From the very start the staff were friendly, they booked us a table for the evening meal which was really good. Our room was number 17 it was a good size and comfortable, the room was seperate from the Hotel but that really wasn't a problem the Hotel back entrance was right opposite and well lite. There was a slight misunderstanding with the breakfast time being the week after Christmas but the staff where fantastic really accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was really good and service was fast. My overall opinion of this Hotel is that its a great place to stay and certainly the best place we have stayed in when we have visited Newbury for the race meetings,
The only slight thing was a faint sound of whirling from what we think was the maintenance room outside but this didn't stop us having a great night sleep.
food was excellent in restaurant, good selection of all drinks and coffee in bar.The new conservatory was very nice as was the bar, has a nice ambience could have sat there all day.
poor service in restaurant , long wait between ordering drinks and being served them , and staff forgetting our order ,however they did rectify this by not charging us for a bottle of wine.
excellent service nothing to much trouble very friendly place
Warm welcome on arrival, food and staff second to none . Highly recommend this hotel
Accommodation to a high standard. The food (both evening and breakfast) were plentiful and well presented. The location was also good. The staff were most helpful and friendly. Would certainly return and stay again.
Good hotel with helpful staff
Food could have been better for the money
Our evening meal and breakfast were excellent. The price for the accommodation and breakfast is very good value.
The noise of traffic as it's on a busy road but we used the double glazing and this did block out the sound of cars.
Shower in our room (Number 22) was quite poor.
Great value for money!!! Staff Wer lovely and very helpful !will definitely be coming back
1) good food 2) good sleeping 3) good location
I think it's not a good hotel for a tall men (more than 190 cm) because the room had a low ceiling. the reason of that - this is an old-styled hotel. I have 184 cm and this is fine.
Very comfortable and the staff were great thanks
Food good, and slept well
Breakfast served slowly
They were very friendly and welcoming , service was efficient and quick and food delicious a real cosy homely feel :)
There's nothing I didn't like
Relaxed and good food with good Irish coffee!
Crossing the road with the dog!
The manager gave us information about the clubs and which ones to go for. The breakfast was very good although I only had the bacon and toast, my friends had the full english and said it was very tasty. We also liked the fact that we could come back in the evening no matter how late it was because we did not have to go through the main entrance.w
I felt that there wasn't enough milk or teabags for the three of us in the room We also would have liked the breakfast to be on a bit later at the weekend although I understand that probably wouldn't have been feasible. I would have liked softer pillows.
The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Loved being able to soak in the bath tub! The free traditional English breakfast was good and plenty. I especially loved the old charm of this quaint B&B, like the old exposed beams in the ceiling of our room and the dining room. I wanted something very old and British and I got it.
Our room was a bit noisy, sounds coming from the street as well as other guests in the same building going in and out.
The charming restaurant where we got our breakfast
Just on tiny window for our spacious room in the attic
