Nothing springs to mind...
The Haven offers comfort and peace in an idyllic setting. The bedroom is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Ester and Ian were very welcoming and friendly; providing delicious, good quality breakfasts aswell as helpful advice on travel and sightseeing. A perfect place to visit.
Excellent hostess, high quality care and hospitality. Go here if you like to be fussed over. Beautiful location. Hostess even did our laundry which was a huge help.
There is only one guest room so it can be quite intense if you don't like too much attention
Location was very pretty & quiet.
Service went down towards the end of the week. Breakfast was under cooked a couple of times, we were also give milk that was off.
Ian and esther were fantastic hosts and good conversation
Just had an excellent stay at The Haven? Esther and Ian were ideal hosts and made us very welcome. Our bedroom and en suite were well appointed, with great attention to detail, even included free wi fi. Breakfast in the lovely conservatory which overlooks the river and garden was exceptional and well presented. We will certainly be recommending this B&B to our friends. Thank you again
Lovely owners. Perfect stay. Great room with ensuite. Breakfast was simply amazing with a lovely view onto the water. Afterwards the owner even offered us a lift into castle douglas. Very kind of them
This bed and breakfast is in an unforgettable position on the banks of the River Dee. Excellent hosts and beautiful comfortable room and lovely breakfasts. I would definitely stay again if in the area and would certainly recommend to friends
Could not have considered more than one or two nights stayover
Esther and Ian were so welcoming - made us a lovely cup of tea when we arrived which we drank whilst sitting in their lovely garden beside the river. The decor of the room is delightful, and everything so comfortable. Breakfast was great! Plus a really good recommendation for the Laurie Arms Hotel nearby, for a great meal.
Having to leave!
Everything was new and very clean. Idyllic position. A warm and open welcome to join them during the evening. Breakfast in the conservatory set in spectacular gardens by the river. Too much food for me but loads of choice. Lovely bathroom, bedroom, with all amenities including wi fi. I would definitely return there and felt one night did not do it justice.
We were down in here to buy plants and found this wonderful place to stay. Great place to stay and were accepted as part of the family. Overlooking the River Dee - beautiful!
Location by the river. Watched the herons flying and fishing. Esther very friendly. Ian grew up in the same area of North Scotland as myself so lots in common
A lovely welcome and very friendly hosts - we felt at home. A beautiful location and the very best of breakfasts. We will recommend this to our friends and relatives.
We spent a week driving around southern Scotland and northern England and this B&B was by far the best we stayed in. Ester & Ian couldn't have done more for us. The room was lovely and clean and we had a great breakfast. Even got a tour of their lovely garden and told about the fascinating history of the house. It's only 90 mins from Stranraer so and ideal location when arriving by ferry or heading back. It's just outside Castle Douglas town where there is a good choice of eateries. 11 out of 10 for this B&B
No bad points about this B&B at all
Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and wonderful host who couldn't do enough for you. Excellent breakfast choices and flexible to suit your needs. Very comfortable bed and excellent shower.
Fantastic location just off the main route but very quiet and just by the river. Very friendly welcome, treated like one of the family. Excellent breakfast.
Made to feel very welcome
