Very nice welcome and lovely, clean room. Delicious, well cooked breakfast with friendly service. Great position on the beachfront. Only one criticism is there were only a couple of tiny drawers - no good if you were staying for more than a couple of days. However, we had the smallest room in the hotel I believe (still a decent size) so probably the other rooms have more drawer space. Having said that, I would return,

Idealistic location. Staff were friendly but non intrusive. Good sized rooms. The only bad point was that the shower needed properly sealing.

No.78 Is a lovely guest-house.The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and very helpful. The room was a large twin with an en-suite . it was light and airy, very clean and spacious with T.v, video player, tea/coffee facilities, The beds are very comfortable. The full English breakfast was hot and delicious. It was a 2 minute walk around the corner to the pier and beach. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to other visitors. I would mention that this is a large Victorian building with stairs, but if you are able to climb them, please don't be put off.

We had an excellant stay at No. 78. Fantastic value for money and the people were so helpful and friendly. We stayed in a 'good double' room and it was very large and comfortable. Would certainly stay here again.

We were made to feel welcome from the outset. The breakfast was fantastic and cooked fresh to order. The staff and owners were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much to ask. The location was perfect to either explore the shops or the beachfront, we would always book this hotel whenever we go to Great Yarmouth in the future.

Breakfast good, but not much choice. The bed was comfortable and the duvet good. The owners were not there and it showed. The rooms had had a make over, but there was a towel rail broken and light bulbs out in the bathroom. the modern bedroom style was let down by the typical "seaside" reception and entry area.

“It was convenient to our Norfolk relatives, we were able to visit them and go out with them for meals, etc. The visit was also for a visit to Thursford Christmas Spectacular. School Lodge was very comfortable, though we only used it for sleeping and breakfast. We both said that we will stay there again.” John, Doncaster |
