In the heart of historic York, this Hilton has 2 bars, 2 restaurants and is opposite the ancient Clifford's Tower. Modern rooms, each with a flat-screen TV, are moments from the Jorvik Viking Centre.

Hayley, Paul and the boys welcome you to their guest house, a special place to stay in York; a distinctive Edwardian residence, where a more friendly accommodation is hard to find.
Score from 207 reviews Very good
the proprietor was very helpful & informative, not far from the city centre (on a bus route), would definately go back there if i was to visit york again.
Host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of york giving advice to us about where to go and what to see during our stay.Would recommend the heathers for a stay in york

- Friendly host. He helped me prepared a suprise for my friends birthday which was a lovely handmade cake. - Helpful information. Basic information was introduced during check-in.
- 30 mins walk to downtown. - Bath was hard to use in terms of not en-suite room type.
The Heathers,as regards our expectations and requirements for our 4 night stay was absolutely spot on. Graham and Heather were the perfect hosts and very approachable as regards anything you may require. The location was great, a short distance from the centre of York, a 20 min walk or you could take on of the regular buses...the bus stops going and returning were close to The Heathers. Our stay was over the New Year period and the taxi service was still very good and on time. Everything about our stay, food, accommodation, location etc was perfect for us and exceptional value for money. When we return to York we will be staying at The Heathers.
Graham with his helpfulness and knowledge of the area. Heathers was a great place to stay with off street parking and close to all of York's attractions.
Comfortable, clean home from home feel. Lovely filling breakfast.
What's not to like!?

LOW flow inline shower boiler
Graham was really friendly and chatty & very informative on things to do. The bed was soooo comfortable - the best i've ever slept in. Breakfast was really tasty.
En-suite shower room looked lovely but we had a bit of a problem with water pressure & temperature. This wouldn't stop me visiting again though.
great breakfast every day. manager very helpful in advising on where to go and what to see.
I found the bed a bit too firm for me.
View over the back garden. Fresh milk available for tea & coffee in the room.
Off Road parking and Locality to York. You could walk in , in about half an hour or the park and ride bus ran on a regular basis. Lovely pub accross the road.
Breakfast could be on till a bit later. its early for a weekend!
easy access to the park & ride good car parking facilities helpful host
lack of public transport after 8.00pm
wonderful warm hospitality, very organized and responsive, helpful with unique local information, very able to meet special dietary needs, lovely homely atmosphere in beautifully refurbished, perfectly located older house with warm rooms in october
The room was beautiful and spacious, warm and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was lovely also super clean, warm and plenty of hot water.Everywhere was tastefully furnished. Graham and Heather were lovely people and Graham was very knowledgable about York and gave us lots of tips and hints and lots of info on places of interest and places to visit. The breakfast was superb plenty of choice top quality and beautifully cooked. We would thoroughly reccomend the Heathers to anyone visiting York you would find it hard to beat this hotel and the lovely host and hostess.
We have no complaints whatsoever and could find no fault at all with it.
Parking off road, excellent breakfasts, friendly hosts. Close to bus stops for easy trips into York centre, park and ride is a brilliant idea. Resteraunt over the road to meet people for coffee or meals. It was a fantastic short break.
Everything, room was spotless, breakfast was excellent and the host was helpful and answered all our queries. So glad I picked there instead of a impersonal hotel.
Nice room, good location
I'm afraid I just didn't warm to the proprietor - felt rather smug and he seemed to think he knew what we wanted better than we did.
Walking distance to close Pub for a very acceptable meal, good breakfast etc.
Personal service, the advice on driving routes. Advice on seeing York. Location
This B&B was lovely, from the friendly hosts to our big room overlooking garden. The bed was great and hot shower also. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. Able to get bus at door for going into york old town was bonus.would recommend highly
A warm welcome and very helpful proprietors. The home and garden are very nice. We booked the small double room with the external bathroom. The room is basic but adequate except for the bed. Advice and education is freely about York. given. Breakfast is good (although the man at the next table who thought his toast had been forgotten and brazenly asked after it, was reminded of his gaul the following morning). We were £40 short of our cash payment and were allowed to put it on my card without incurring the additional 4% surcharge charged for paying with a card.
In our room we had a double bed, so hard we resorted to putting jackets and towels under ourselves for sleep. After four listless nights, moved to another guest house down the road. I can't see mention of the 4% additional charge for paying with card on bookings.com where I booked. For legal reasons, I hope it's there but can't confirm.
Room, breakfast and ease of getting into York.
Executive room large and comfortable.Helpful owner with lots of suggestions of places to visit in York including free tours. Lovely breakfast.Property well presented. Good parking spaces.
Small amount of traffic noise at front of property. Woken by creaky floor boards in hall way upstairs.
