Personal service, the advice on driving routes. Advice on seeing York. Location
This B&B was lovely, from the friendly hosts to our big room overlooking garden. The bed was great and hot shower also. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. Able to get bus at door for going into york old town was bonus.would recommend highly
Room, breakfast and ease of getting into York.
Executive room large and comfortable.Helpful owner with lots of suggestions of places to visit in York including free tours. Lovely breakfast.Property well presented. Good parking spaces.
Small amount of traffic noise at front of property. Woken by creaky floor boards in hall way upstairs.
The bed was very comfy, the room spotless, the location was good as it was near the town centre. We would stay here again if we return to York . The owners were very helpful .
Can't think of a thing.
Graham and Heather are charming hosts. Graham gave us lots of useful advice about where to go and how to get around. The bus stop is just a few minutes away and the bus takes you into town via the National Railway Museum. Parking at The Heathers is excellent so you can leave your car and either take the bus or walk into town ( about 20 mins). Excellent breakfast including fruit and yogurt and good coffee. The house is very tastefully decorated and rooms at the back overlook a lovely garden.
Helpful hosts, very good location. Could take the bus direct to York. Fine breakfast.
Breakfast was good - served as requested
£74 for one person in a small double bedded room with no en suite facilities. Wanted to charge 4.5% extra for credit card and actually took 45p extra for a cheque.
- Freindly family - Nice accomodation - Good location - Perfect breakfast
- Relatively weak wi-fi
The room was spacious, comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the garden
There was nothing to complain about really- as a vegetarian fresh fruit @ breakfast was usually gone by 8.40. Everything else was lovely.
It has always been a pleasure to stay at the Heathers. Graham and Heather go out of there way to make you feel welcome and the rooms and the food emphasise this. Their organisation is superb and has not been matched in any other place where we have stayed.
The squirrels appear to have been on their own holiday whilst we were there! We missed sitting in the breakfast room each morning and watching them at play outside on the lawn.
The accommodation was in an ideal position and very clean. I would recommend this property to any of my friends.
The Breakfast The Cleanliness The Comfort The Helpfulness of the Staff Everything was as Advertised
There was nothing to complain about
First impressions, very welcoming, happy to assist.
Very friendly and warm. Excellent breakfast. Good connection with centre of city by bus.
Staying here allowed us to spend a good amount of time at York Minster, thanks also to Graham's good advice about bus service and leaving the car at the inn. Very comfortable beds. Great pub for dinner in easy strolling distance. Nice gardens.
Heather and Graham made us most welcome. The room was spotlessly clean and the food excellent.
No complaints at all.
Everything genuinely excellent. I only gave a "good" for value as too many "excellents" and you'd think I was the owner. I'm not!! The parking area is ample and the Ring road is also easily accessed, so you don't need to drive through the city. Definately returning next time we're anywhere near York.
I did wonder about distance from the city centre. Dont worry it's actually super convenient as the park and ride bus is just a short stroll away. Its cheap (free for seniors at this location) and runs every 10 min to the Station, NRM and the City Centre. Stops at 8pm, so you might need the odd Taxi ride home (only £5 ish).
Our host went out of his way to explain how to get around in York, and helped us plan our itinerary. He also took time to investigate online and print out for us the best route to avoid traffic from the Tour de France, which departed the same day we did.
Heather and Graham—very personable and always ready to help.
The distance from the city was a touch farther than anticipated, but the walks were good for me so I can't complain. Plus, there is a bus stop right near the B&B so the location was good for travelers.
The welcome, the room, the breakfasts, the friendliness, the helpfulness, the location. We found our recent four nights to be truly enjoyable. Heather & Graham made us genuinely welcome and were a pleasure to be with.
Graham and Heather made myself and my friend June feel very welcome and the room and breakfast and facilities were very good. Graham told us about the variety of animals and birds that visited his garden during our stay which was very interesting. Graham was also very informative on places of interest that we might like to visit in and around York during our stay.
Nothing. Both June and I would recommend the Heathers Guest House. Very good location and facilities.
Fantastic,great room,bed....massive shower,great breakfast,very hospitable
Heather & Graham are a lovely couple who made us feel welcome and were very helpful. Extremely comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. A beautiful garden to look at whilst enjoying a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed our stay very much, highly recomended!
