cleanliness of room and shower nice friendly owners excellent breakfast
comfortable and friendly
Lovely warm welcome, wonderful breakfasts. Kay and Richard so helpful and friendly. We highly recommend Heatherville.
Kay and Richard were very welcoming hosts who couldn't do enough to make our stay one to remember, nice touches like sweets in the room and provided decaf tea bags once they new our preference; they also gave us plenty of information about the walks in the area and the best places to eat for dinner. The room (6) was well appointed with a lovely view. Breakfasts were a feast with fresh fruit in abundance and a varied hot menu, the licensed bar was very welcome for a pre or post dinner drink. The location of the B&B was excellent for both the town and the coastal path.
Don't follow your satnav when you get to Lynmouth, approach the property from the bottom of the town by the bridge, the satnav takes you up the hill and then a very difficult drive down to the property.
Location, excellent hosts, property character and atmosphere
Stunning location. Greeted on arrival with a warm friendly welcome. Beautiful double room overlooking the valley. Richard and Kay extremely attentive. Lovely breakfast room with large selection of fruit, cereal and juices. Fantastic cooked breakfast which kept us going while we on walks and visits around the coast. Well done.
There was nothing AT all.
everything but the hosts Kay and Richard were quite wonderful. Our room was very comfortable and the views outstanding.
The additional personal weight that we both achieved consuming Kays superb food!.
Kay and Richard were so welcoming and helpful during my stay and really went to extra lengths to make my stay perfect, running me to Lynton for dinner, booking restaurants and taxis whenever I needed. The setting is beautiful and I had wanted a complete rest so was happy to leave my car at the hotel most of the time but I did find the walk from the harbour to the Heatherville hard because of my arthritis. Worth the effort though. I loved the adults only restriction as I can't stand children around me. Hope I get the chance to stay there again.
Very steep walk to and from the village but the benefits outweighed this
Richard and Kay put a great deal of themselves into providing a great service, and were full of recommendations of the best things to do in the local area. Everything about this hotel felt welcoming - this is absolutely the opposite of a soulless corporate hotel.
I was very glad to have parking sensors when going up the drive!
Lovely and quiet but only a 5 minute walk to the village. Great breakfast-lots of choice and great quality. Rooms are well equipped and maintained to a very high standard, owners are very friendly and help in any way they can
What fabulous hosts we found Kay and Richard to be! This wonderful couple were so welcoming, open and friendly from the moment we arrived. Throughout our three night stay they were attentive to our every need and most helpful with recommendations for places to visit. Heatherville proved to be a charming haven in an idyllic location, all rooms being attractive, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were a delight! - with lots of tasty options , lots of fresh produce and all served with a smile and friendly chatter. Our stay ended all too soon. Kay and Richard treated us like 'best friends' - would love to stay with them again. Heatherville definitely scores a top, top rating from us.
We arrived at The Heatherville mid-afternoon and were welcomed with a cup of tea and a homemade flapjack on the porch. That was the start of a wonderful three nights with such fabulous hosts in a beautiful setting. Our room was perfect and so was our stay from beginning to end. Thank you Kay and Richard for a superb few days in paradise.
Richard and Kay's welcome was outstanding, sitting on the terrace with a very welcoming cup of tea and cake on arrival was very much appreciated. Our room was lovely with a spectacular view which would be hard to better. Breakfast was of a very high standard with plenty of choice. A pretty little bar for a bedtime drink also very welcome. We will be returning to this lovely hotel in the near future thank you Richard and Kay Linda & Bob
Lovely people , lovely place , lovely breakfasts !
Very friendly and helpful owners. made us most welcome and pointed out places of interest for our stay. Breakfasts worth the trip alone!! Bedroom and bathroom were very clean and checked every day. First class trip.
Richard and Kay very welcoming ,offered tea and cakes on our arrival. Presentation of room was excellent and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, nothing was to much trouble.
Access was a bit tricky but presented no problems to us but could do to others.
The hosts, Richard and Kay were absolutely delightful as others have said before! Our room was perfect - beautiful outlook, furnishings and pristine. The wifi was fast as well.
The driveaway was a little tricky with a larger vehicle but The Heatherville was well worth negotiating the bends!
The host's were superb, as were the breakfast's and amenities. Will definitely return.
We'd gotten lost, it was raining, and we were a bit rattled. Kay gave us directions, and had tea and homemade sweets waiting for us. Their hospitality was friendly and gracious, and we felt like guests. The room was comfortable and it was a nice, large bathroom. The view down over the river through the trees was nice, and the windows opened wide for lots of fresh air. Though on the hillside opposite the village, it was a very short walk down. With the cliff railway, shops and the wonderful Valley of the Rocks walking, and their inviting chairs on the terrace, it would have been a nice spot for a 2nd night. In the morning, Richard even offered and backed our rental car down the road for us.
The road up is quite narrow, and we hadn't gotten comfortable with the narrow UK roads at that point oo the trip. It's do-able, though. Do look at written directions first, though, as the road makes a loop and if you miss the entrance to the easier end of the road, which is right out of town, your sat nav may try to send you up from the other, harder end.
Kay and Ruchard couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating . The location , room and food were very good, but Kay and Richard were the prime ingredient of a wonderful experience.
I have no complaints
Loved it all, such nice people and the place was super clean. beautiful location.
We thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at the Heatherville last week. It is in a lovely location on the hillside and from the moment we arrived, the owners Richard and Kay couldn’t have been more welcoming. Our room was most attractive, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh local produce and a spectacular view. Richard and Kay were most helpful in advising us what to see and do and where best to eat in Lynmouth and Lynton. Always ready to drive us into the village or pick us up if we did not want to walk back. Nothing is too much trouble - terrific customer service. Would definitely recommend the Heatherville as the warm and welcoming place to stay in beautiful Lynmouth.
Personal touch from the owners, made us feel very welcome . The owners were able to offer lots of information about the local area.
We were only staying one night.
