Everything from the welcome on arrival from Heather to the attention to detail in the room and the fantastic freshly cooked breakfast. Easy to walk to all the sights or pop on a bus. Lots of bars and restaurants in easy reach. Very peaceful at night too.
Nothing, everything was just perfect for a great B&B
It is a nice, friendly and quiet place, excellent when you want to escape the anonymity of a hotel accommodation but retain all the luxuries of a good quality accommodation. Only 10 minutes walk to Princess street and 2 minutes to a bus stop.
Best bed we have had in any B&B. All amenities available so just bring a change of clothes and everything else is in the room.
Difference in the definition of a "king room". A bit snug but meant we had to stay out longer to explore as establishment was without a lounge.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hedges, the owner was very friendly. She was able to offer us useful advice about the city. The room was lovely and the breakfast was very good.
Brilliant in walking distance of all main streets and visitor attractions and choice of bus routes if you prefer Beautifully decorated /spotlessly clean / quite and private Everything thought of right down to a Brolly in case it's raining or dominoes/cards if you want to be occupied! Everything worked Breakfast was stupendous in terms of tailored to suit you ref quantity or variety and cooked fresh
Not having a door mat to wipe my feet on before entering the building - I was so worried about dirtying the beautiful tartan carpet! But otherwise the place couldn't be faulted!
Excellent accommodation , breakfast and host, thank you Heather you made our weekend very comfortable and memorable.
Comfortable room. Modern bathroom comfortable bed and a nice view of the gardens. Nice selection to choose from for breakfast. From a nice fruit plate to a variety of ways to have your eggs with toast and choice of veggie and meat. Won't leave hungry! Would return.
Would have liked a luggage rack In the room.
The warm welcome and attention to detail.
All The hospitality was very good
Heather so lovely room stunning breakfast perfect location ideal ...everything from start to fonish
The bed was comfy and the room was lovely and quiet so we had several nights of really good sleep. The food was absolutely delicious: the breakfasts are lovely.
Despite saying they will hold bags they didn't want to keep ours on the last day, saying that more people were already arriving and they didn't have space. This seemed a bit ridiculous in a huge Georgian house. They then said they could keep the bags for one hour but this was impractical as the B and B is at the top of Leith Walk so we wouldn't have had time to go anywhere before having to collect them again. Check out time is 10.30am so we had to keep the bags with us all day, which had a bit of an impact on our last day in Edinburgh.
Heather was so helpful and kind to both myself and my wife. The breakfasts were second to none, the advice was so useful. The room and decor were amazing. Some 5 star hotels should take lessons from Heather!
Breakfast was the best of all our B&B where we stayed, owner were helpful and lovely, we felt like home.
Super friendly, clean and comfortable, convenient for all the great city centre events and activities. Breakfasts unbeaten anywhere we have stayed with a great choice, excellent presentation and taste. You can order the amount of cooked breakfast you want too which meant my bottomless pit of a partner could 'go large' whilst I could eat a smaller portion without feeling I'd wasted food - a great touch. When we were about to set out in the rain for the tattoo two new rainproof ponchos appeared on the bed to make sure we stayed dry - just one example of the lovely personal service.
Heather is a wonderful hostess and breakfasts at Hedges are simply THE best by far of anywhere else we stayed during our month long holiday.

Hostess, exceptional, friendly, sincere, thoughtful. Food great and large selection to choose from
We loved The Hedges! Heather is wonderful, she was very helpful with tour recommendations and calling a taxi for us. She even made us sack breakfast to take with us on an early morning tour. There is a restaurant across the street called The Garden Cottage that was recommended to us, but unfortunately, I didn't make a reservation soon enough... Next time!
Definitely one of the best in city B & Bs have been in
Breakfast was extremely good, exceptional. The owner was very friendly, and made me feel right at home It was very conveniently located for me
Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. Convenient location. The quality and cleanliness of the accommodation and the high standard of meals served.
It was all great!! Thank you Heather for your help and your exzellent service.
