Was an excellent choice clean welcoming staff the room very comfy clean brilliant shower nice soft towels the breakfast were very gud set you up for the day would defiantly stay again.
Nothing to dislike
Lovely welcome to the hotel Complimentary tea and cakes
I have recently returned from the Hideaway after a 2 night break. The whole experience was excellent. The staff were welcoming, very friendly and always available if help was required. The rooms and facilities were excellent as was the location. The breakfast was of superb standard and could not be faulted. I would fully recommend The Hideaway as a place to stay.
Hotel was clean and friendly. Room was nice. Tea and cake in the afternoon was lovely.
Bed was quite uncomfortable, the location was good for day time travelling to other places, but not much to do in Winderere in the evening. We wanted to use the gym but as we booked through booking.com we would have had to pay £5 each for this, which it doesn't say anywhere when booking.
Everything! The service, the room, the facilities, free afternoon tea n cakes, etc, etc. Value for money. Wished we could stay longer...
The room is comfy with sufficient facilities, esp. the wifi is very stable. Besides, the staffs are very friendly and welcoming, will absolutely come back again!
Complimentary tea and cake on arrival and subsequent afternoons.
Easy to find Close to the town Great atmosphere Amazing breakfast Afternoon tea Room quality Friendly owners/staff Value for money Parking We would defiantly stay again
The building itself was gorgeous inside and out. The staff were brilliant, really helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely - made for the perfect mini break.
No bad comments at all
Excellent and intimate setting, close to the town centre including restaurants, train station, etc., and yet serene. Lovely decor and layout.
Location - quiet but really close to town centre Staff - very friendly & helpful Afternoon Tea's - Yum Yum!! Breakfasts - nice choice & tasty Link sent to show you pictures of the room Free parking, important around Windermere. Very good location to see Windermere & Bowness
My room had not been recently refurbished; can't say it was any sort of issue - still very nice! View from my window wasn't that nice.
Very good in service and sharing what local activities are best. Warm, friendly, and clean made our visit to the boutique hotel - think they have 11 rooms total.Great place to stay! and just a few metres to town center
Small Tv but didn't mind as the walks will tire you out that you won't even use it
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, comfy beds, gorgeous breakfast - would definitely return!
I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel
excellent friendly staff, great advice on nearby restaurants ect - such as The Lamplighter.
Great breakfast.Free cake and tea every afternoon.Quite location but not too far from the town. Great staff and owners.
Could do with a DVD player in the room. Pillows a bit too thick
Very peaceful location with a nice lounge to relax in.
The ensuite was tired and needed updating. Would say that the room was over priced.
Lisa and the rest of the staff were so nice and super polite. We arrived after the usual check in time but they made arrangements so we could self check-in. Everyone was so accomodating! Breakfast was delicious and the choice in the menu was good although I went for full English breakfast every morning :) Cake and tea/coffee was also offered in the afternoon. The place is ideally located near to Windermere Station and is only a short walk away for those who doesn't drive. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we slept so well. If you are considering the Hideaway, go fo it.
The location, the room, the garden, the breakfast
We stayed two nights : every morning the garbage truck, at 6h30 and one day the housekeeping at 7h30; noisy rooms. One morning no warm water for the showers, no heating in the bathroom (10° cel)
A fabulous stay for our anniversary with champagne and dipped chocolate strawberries on arrival! Wonderful, positive hosts with the most delicious breakfasts and afternoon teas included. Perfect surroundings, we will definitely be back for more.
Location...short walk to local restaurants and shops. Great breakfast. Staff were very nice. Clean and tidy hotel. Lovely setting.
Great area for walking. The lake is a short walk through a footpath at the rear of the property. The owner went out of his way to talk to all the guests. The old stables have been preserved which adds character. Great weather able to dine outside.
The room is adequate for a short stay but the TV is small.
Great style, excellent staff, perfect breakfast
I booked The Hideaway from Australia based on it's reviews. It not only lived up to them but was even better than I expected. The whole booking was well managed. They thought about my visit, offering to change me to a twin room, when they realised I was bringing my daughter. The property is centrally located but 'hidden' away from the busy village noises. We were very comfortable and wished we were staying longer. I particularly want to mention the Full English Breakfast. Firstly, its schedule was well thought out as the tourist activities don't open early. Secondly, it was the best breakfast of my entire UK trip. Not that others weren't good but this one was exceptional. They even serve well made barista style coffee. The highlight for me was the divine Banana Loaf brought around at the end. It's ruined me for all future Banana Bread as I'm sure none will ever match it. (I'm a great lover of Banana Bread and have sampled many:) This one was made by the owner, to his own recipe. It topped off a wonderful breakfast. I also must mention the lovely service we received off all the staff and owners, thank you all:)
Nothing to mention.
Lovely setting with ample parking and 5 minutes walk from the centre of Windermere Friendly and obliging staff. Room and public areas very clean and well maintained with a comfortable lounge
The Hideaway no longer provides evening meals although this is mentioned on the website and that is OK if the weather is fine and you can walk into Winderemere to eat . However , if the weather is bad the lack of an available evening meal on the premises is a problem. Also, you can't obtain a drink after 7.30pm
We were greeted with a warm welcome by host Lisa and offered tea/coffee and some very nice cakes on our arrival. This was greatly appreciated after a long day's travel. The B&B is immaculately maintained, very comfy and close to the village. An additional nice surprise was the fresh banana bread and croissants offered to us at breakfast by host Richard. What more can you say but a great place to stay in Windermere.
