Score from 367 reviews Very good
Friendly staff, and the size of the room. the beds were very comfortable with lovely white cotton sheets and pillowcases and the towels were white and fluffy. With a bit of money spent on this hotel it would be excellent. Good breakfast with good choice and beautiful freshly brewed coffee.
The room was not that clean as the " nosey parker" on the vacuum cleaner had obviously not been used round the beds or chest of drawers. Bathroom definitely needs updating!.
very obliging friendly staff. Food inexpensive, good plain fare Beautiful patio over looking sea, Very relaxed atmosphere, home from home. Wi-fi available, reasonable parking space, gets full later in evening but other parking nearby streets.
Decor! also carpet in bathroom which didn't seem to be hoovered every day. Bar has limited range of non alcoholic drinks, but is relaxed about bringing your own alternatives.
Delay in serving breakfast
Very good value stay, breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again.
It was good as a base to see our friends - with good breakfast and great views over the water.
It is an older style hotel - and the shower was not so great. But we expected that
The room smelt musty, the duvet smelt like it hadn't been washed for yrs. The T.V was so small you needed a pair of binoculars to watch it! The lady cleaning the breakfast tables was using what looked like a very dirty cloth!
The room was clean, including en-suite bathroom, and everything worked. Great view of the Bristol channel from the outdoor balcony. The full English breakfast was hot, plenty of bread available. The staff were helpful and when we checked out we were able to leave our car on the front till 5:30 pm as we went on a trip on the Waverley from the pier.
The building is old which was not a problem for us, but if you like modern accommodation, probably not for you. Parking could be an issue if the hotel is full
Very comfortable bed, the room was facing the sea, so you could hear the waves gently lapping the shore to send you to sleep. Plenty of birdwatching (birds not ladies!) from the room too. Breakfast was excellent, with a massive choice of options to suit all needs.
Having to park on the street. (But then I was late getting there!)
The staff were very friendly & helpful. Beds were comfortable & rooms clean. Convenient parking. Nice sea view rooms. Definitely value for money
From the outside not the most attractive looking building which could put people off.
Amiable, cheerful, helpful Staff; excellent outlook from room; good breakfast; convenience of parking; patio over-looking sea.
The receptionist and breakfast
Very dated, terribly uncomfortable worn out bed, carpet in bathroom, no hot water pressure to enable even a quick shower, IKEA canvas wardrobe, smell of smoke in the room, cigarette ash in the window frame, dead flies all over window, rotten patio furniture, over flowing ash trays full of water. Unfortunately this is typical of a hotel which couldn't afford to update as it would never recover it's investment.
Bus stop across from hotel ideal to travel to Weston supermare. Old building but good size room with expected facilities. Bathroom small and basic. Overall clean. Initial reception by front staff was poor but friendliness of staff did improve. Breakfast was good. Hotel was a bit out of the way with nothing around - not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Lack of entertainment - not suitable for young families. You do need a car to get around. Stayed 2 nights and was pleased with room hotel overall but would not stay longer.
Initial receptionist greeting was poor. Very basic reception area. Very limited choice menu if you wanted to eat at hotel. Small bar with TV - that was the entertainment.
The staff were extremly polite, friendly and helpful. Our room had the best view and was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was more than satisfying.Locals were very friendly. Ozzey the Cabbie was a godsend!
Bus to Bristol didnt show on time, bit annoying when they only run hourly. Guess you have to put up with these things when staying in the suburbs.
The hotel was very run down and the food was poor
freindly staff clean rooms and lots of tea and coffee in the room.
the creeky stairs
Room comfortable and great views
Cooked breakfast poor. One v small piece of bacon and poor sausage.
the views the staff the breakfast the location
the bathroom the noisy young guest next door the stairs
Sea view room and from the bar and patio, rooms are so large and beds are super comfortable. Everything was lovely and clean would definitely go back. Highly recommended
Absolutely filthy....never stayed there!
Very friendly attentive staff, good size clean room
Decor needs a bit of TLC and updating.
Nice place to stay, great location, good size room with a sea view, parking, and a lovely breakfast which set you up for the day,the staff very friendly and helpful.Good value for money.
The hotel is a bit dated, but so what it didn't effect our stay, only real problem was the shower trying to adjust it was a nightmare.
Particularly enjoyed coffee and cooked breakfast, which came hot and fresh to order not congealed & tired like some buffet breakfasts. Reception and breakfast staff efficient and friendly, contributing to good ambiance. Have stayed at big Best Western along road on other occasions but this was just as good - in fact better value and staff more friendly and welcoming. Location is superb with panoramic sea view of shipping. Watched pheasants and squirrels from bedroom window, too.
Didn't get offered toast at breakfast but didn't feel inclined to chase it - just seemed odd to not get as normal. Rather small flatscreen TV in our large room, miles away from bed or sitting area of room, so small could hardly see it and in wrong place (seemed mean but sortable). Strip light in bathroom over sink not working, so was difficult to see putting on makeup, but not a big deal, just slight lack of attention to detail. Would still recommend the hotel!
The included breakfast was great;
they charged for wifi; they should just include it in the price and raise the rate by 2 pounds
Everything! Absolutely superb sea views from the bar, drinks patio & restaurant!
