With magnificent panoramic views across the bay, the chic Cottonwood Boutique Hotel has a superb cliff-top location.
Score from 450 reviews Very good
On the seafront, overlooking Bournemouth Bay, this 3-star hotel on East Cliff is an easy walk from beaches, award-winning gardens, and the center of town.
Score from 1224 reviews Good
In a quiet part of East Cliff, this clean, friendly hotel is just a short walk from Bournemouth's beaches and town center. It has spacious rooms, a restaurant, a vibrant bar and free parking.
Score from 1402 reviews Very good
Within easy walking distance of the center of town, the Bournemouth International Center, and only minutes from the pier and beaches, this hotel is known for the quality of its fine food.
Score from 80 reviews Very good
Staff seemed friendly and room was clean. Chose this Hotel as it was near where we were going for a party. Nice walk into Boscombe and lovely walk down the sea front
Bed to hard for me but that was just my personal preference. Had some trouble with shower
friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with enough comfort in room, and enough going on, for solo traveller to feel at ease
Lovely atmosphere and hotel. Overall had a great stay, room was comfy and public areas very tastefully decorated.
Only down side I found was the overseas staff in restaurant and the language barrier. For instance I ordered porridge for breakfast and kippers, the girl serving bought both out together and when tried to explain wanted the porridge first then the kippers didnt quite comprend it.
Very good breakfast. Very clean hotel No smells or grime, Very attentive staff Hotel made not claims that were not true
Indoor pool could be a little larger.
Spacious, clean room, and big size en suite bathroom (shower and bathtub). The hotel has sauna and pool included in price, but we didn't used them, so I can't say anything about quality of those. Very, very nice hotel, and friendly staff who allowed us to leave our car on their parking even after check out.
Thin walls are the only thing that might be disturbing.
The staffs are amazing. They have shortcomings like my doesn't have an iron but when I called there was an instant response and I got the iron :). Not a big thing but I like the gesture. Hotel is not far from station as well the beach. 15 mins from station and 1 minute to the beach. I also like the breakfast which is not free but value for money. Overall very satisfied. Don't book this hotel if you are looking for a ocean view.
No ocean view :(
Location wasnt bad as the sea was 5 mins away. 32 inch tv perfect. Fair size room. Perfect for relaxing from noisy city centre.
Lack of communication as staff wasnt sure wat we booked, so we had to wait 40 mins for our breakfast. Staff in restaurant wasnt polite or friendly. We had no towels in our bedroom, and then i asked for it, they only gave us one, brough another one later, but still we only had big bath towels, no smaller ones for face or hands. Could do with cleaning up the room as we had loads of spiderwebs all round the room
Very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, friendly staff, good location.
No decaf coffee or tea in rooms.
The room was very clean, and the location is good, close to the sea and a walk away from the city centre.
Tired furniture, wifi not available in the rooms, reception didn't have a map of Bournemouth and couldn't give directions to the bus station. The hotel management did not want to give Booking.com their comission and asked if they could cancel the booking with the site and re-book directly with me, promising they would match the cheap rates. I felt cornered and agreed. To my surprise the rates weren't matched! After I complained they corrected the bill, as if they were doing me a favour, and not vice-versa.
Comfy bed Quiet Decor in communcal areas were well decorated
The pool area was unclean the floor was wet - everywhere - including changing rooms. The floor was dirty on the floor around the pool and changing area. The bathroom was in need of redecorating and the shower was so weak and bad positioned I had to hold it up to myself. We were in a hurry to get to work in the morning and the waitresses were taking orders one at a time and returning to the kitchen, it was very slow, especially when it was obvious that we were in a hurry with our bags and coats with us. Will not be returning again.
It was a very nice quiet hotel.
The facilities were unavailable while we were there.
Staff are friendly service was good, great location, breakfast was good although the plate was a little small.
Rooms were a tiny bit small.
Location was excellent, a short walk to Bournemouth without the hustle!
we enjoyed our stay and felt very welcome and relaxed.
Set times for brekfast and dinner. Had to leave early and pool closed to early.
For the price I thinks it's not bad, room very neat and smell free. Value for money
I booked a room very much at the last minute and paid less than thirty quid. For this sort of money you can't expect too much, so what I got was fine - a comfortable single room in the slightly run down 'Hinton Firs Cottage' around the back. Despite some of the reviews, the room was clean, there was plenty of hot water in the morning and it was quiet. There is also plenty of parking.
The annex has seen better days - the shower hose was a bit decrepit, not all the windows closed tight, the stairwell is a bit musty and the towels were small and ancient...but as I say above, for less than 30 quid it would be churlish to look too close.
The excellent location,. courteous and helpful staff, the pool, excellent breakfast and the astonishing value for money
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nice and value for money. Indoor pool was nice and warm and clean.
The shower was a little old fashioned and choose when it wanted to work and when it didn't.
Very nice staff, nice gardens & facilities. Friendly and calm atmosphere. Brilliant location in a quiet area, very close to the cliff top & beach. I think the price is very good value in comparison to most Bournemouth hotels.
The particular room we had was small & close to the generator outside so a little noise & no view.
Location Bar open for long hours Indoor pool and jacuzzi
breakfast was small portions décor dated and needs updating
The hotel was in desperate need of a makeover. The bedroom we had was a single room with 2 beds in it and far too small. The ceiling paper was hanging off and some of the wallpaper on the walls was peeling off. The carpet was disgusting and needed replacing and the duvet covers looked as if they had not been washed from the previous guests.
Bathroom very clean, sleeping very quiet too. Indoor swiming pool very good. Good breakfast indeed! Staff very friendly!!
Outdoor swiming pool no longer in use. General furniture decor needs touching up! Breakfast starting time too late at 7.45am. No team player for my lovely table tennis game.
No negatives for the money
All good value for money
The double room was very comfortable with all appliances likely to need. The indoor pool was very nice and well maintained.
The water pressure for the shower was not very good and the outdoor pool was not maintained or used and a bit of an eyesore.
Quiet location, close to cliff top with access to beach walks. Breakfast good, not hot buffet but made to order. Comfortable rooms though tired.
Pool needs attention.
