Value for money
Friendly staff Rooms well priced for what you get Decent food Shower was impressively powerful
The bar could be better stocked - all of the similar 3 star hotels in the area have real fires and real ale. The bar at the Holt was pretty bog standard (certainly not terrible), and wasn't able to rustle up more than 5 glasses of port, and fell short when we asked for the dessert wine which was on the menu. Service at breakfast wasn't quite as attentive as it had been for the evening meal.
Excellent hotel great service very clean. Lovely breakfast. Only bout 5 miles from Blenheim horse trials
Room size, shower
Bathroom dated, beds to hard
nothing really apart from the shower.
room hot. shabby. noisy if you had ventilation as room was road facing.
Room needed cleaning changed rooms the Hotel looks and feels like it in the 1980s
Warm welcome and helpfulness of the staff. Had everything needed, but old. Great shower, good sized room. Good Breakfast selection. Good value for money.
The Hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly.
We had the front room and it was noisy didn't sleep very week because of the cars going past. Could not get any coke or lemonade from the bar
Location and setting is nice. From the outside the hotel looks lovely it's as you enter your heart starts to sink!
Overpriced for very basic accommodation. New beds and a complete refit needed then it would be a nice place to stay
We stayed last weekend found staff very welcoming, would recommend to family & friends found The Holt Hotel great value for money also.
Staff were very welcoming, accommodating and polite
Awful smell when arrived so bad made family fell sick so could not stay as it was so bad
It was very clean and staff were very helpful
I didn't sleep very well and felt very uneasy. I had a total of 2 hours sleep. I was not happy that there was a leaflet in the room saying about the Hauntings. I felt that this played on my mind as I was trying to settle down.
Large, spacious room.
We stayed in room 76. Throughout the night, the noise from the room above woke us both many times. Heavy footfalls, people moving around and loudly creaking floorboards. On enquiry the next morning, I was told by reception that the room above ours was a utility room. I wrote to the manager to complain when we had got home but received no reply, not even an acknowledgement of correspondence I can forgive the lack of wifi in the room, I can forgive a door chain that didn't work, I can forgive them for not finding the trousers that we left behind, but I cannot forgive them for the one thing you expect from a hotel - a decent night's sleep.
The staff, the bath, the wifi and that it is pet friendly.
Hassle over payment. Everything was paid for in advance but the staff kept trying to find additional charges. I had to pay an additional charge of £ 10,-- for my tiny chihuahua in the end.
A very welcoming hotel, with charm and character. Close to many places to go and visit, but far enough away to have peace and relaxation after a busy day.
We had a very large room It looked clean and well maintained Atmospherical Calm Very decent English breakfast Plenty of parking Nice setting Staff friendly and helpful No problems checking in late, no problems checking out.
Towels smelled of food No duvet (just a blanket) We had the furthest room (charming but very long and windy trek) Restaurant staff was not observant enough despite appearing to be overstaffed. Bar closes to early. No ghosts!
Decor is a bit tired
Good situation for visiting attractions in the area.
Comfortable and quiet location
Musty smell in corridors and so many doors and corridors, up and down stairs to get to rooms
Decor dated, looked grubby
Staff was helpful to canncel the remaining nights.
Hotel was categorized as " pet friendly " but we were asked to have breakfast outside on the patio. Eventually a shower stopped our breakfast in the middle. Also the bar area was not open to us.
Suited our needs. Very helpful staff.
All OK no problems.
Food was very good Staff were excellent
Bedrooms in a shocking state we turned down our first room Battered furniture Grubby furniture and curtains Peeling wallpaper in hallways Cracked bulging internal wall Bathroom needed ripping out Paint peeled off doors of bathroom
