Nothing. We booked 5 months in advance and paid £180 for 4 nights bed and breakfast. We told them we were OAP,s and asked for a room with a view. The view was awful looking at the back of property with mountains of rubbish Room 14 was the worst room we have ever stayed in I burnt my legs on the rads and stubbed my toe on the bed end because there was no room to move!!! There was a huge gap under the door. The carpet was badly marked the throw on the bed was marked the duvet had burn marks on it. There were no instructions on how to work the tv which kept breaking up. The whole place smelt of kebabs. No proper fire escape plan. The furniture was badly marked. The shower gel and bottled water together with clean towels were never replaced. The breakfast menu dissappeared after the second day so it was full english or dry scrambled eggs with egg shell!!. We did have kippers that were boiled in the bag and all stuck together, dinner was served 6pm - 7pm!!!! The hotel was noisy at night. The worst hotel ever, we have pictures if anyone wants me to send them. Please dont book it is atrocious.

The welcome we received on arriving was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. We weren't able to eat at the hotel in the evening but the breakfast was really good. Plenty of choice and good efficient service. I didnt like the fact that we could only stay one night!

decor ran out of beer n ice , got drinks wrong on several occations , failed to let us know that new year entertainment was cancelled , failed to repair tv volume in room after asking several times , owner let his staff consume alchol whilst on duty thus affecting wrong drinks ect , owner arguing with staff in front of guests and letting his dogs into bar hence covered in dog hairs

We loved Brownes international and will definately be staying again. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. We also had a meal in the restaurant which was wonderful and very reasonably priced. Great location just out of town but only one minute to the tram stop. PERFECT!!

staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was compact but lovely. Location was quiet. Would stay there again and highly recommend it. surrounding properties (which could view from room) were run down and dirty so not the best view-however it wouldn't prevent us from staying there again.

Friendly owners. Modern. Clean. Good location. Quiet area. Good deal for mid week, 2 night stay. Plenty of hot water, tea/coffee making facilities. Small flat screen TV,. , Apart from the reception area, the heating in the hotel was very poor. Given it was mid December very cold bedroom and dining room. Breakfast would have been perfect if it hadn't just been luke warm. Had to stride over a step into the en-suite everytime you crossed the bedroom or walked around the bed. Not very safe if you need to get up in the night.

Any problems the staff seem to want to blame the customer, we left at 4.30 in the morning due to people arguing and playing music. We had no apology and offer of refund because we lost out on breakfast , I would never stay there again, completely ruined our weekend and the management didn't care, and it's defiantly not a 4 star b&b , management not bother what type of customer they let in. Everything

Easy to find and a reasonable walk or short tram ride to the main attractions. The room was quite compact but very nice, as pictured (which is refreshing!) and clean. Loved the heated towel rail and the stick of rock is a nice touch!

Friendly and helpful staff, location. The phone in the room didn't get answered in the evening, and I was charged money to my card that I didn't give consent for. On check out I was told their was nothing to pay, but I was charged and not told what for. Booking.com clearly stated when I booked that the hotel may take a £20 deposit from my card, that would be deducted from the total on arrival. On arrival I was told nothing had been taken and so I paid the rooms total cost. When I then arrived home, they did charge an extra £20 for the room. I phoned the hotel and requested for them to call back, which they still have not. I will now dispute with my bank.

As a duty manager of a best western hotel I'm aware of how a hotel should be run and managed, brownes international is a excellent hotel with great management and staff, the rooms have recently been refurbed and are to a high quality/standard and very clean. We decided to have a drink in the bar before going out for the evening, the bar is a very relaxed with some fantastic lighting and great back ground music. We came down for breakfast in the morning and was greeted with a good morning wich is always nice. Now the breakfast is the best breakfast I've eat in a long while with a choice that caters for everybody. Great staff great hotel great rooms and will highly recommend it to any young couple. Will very likely be back very soon. The staff the food the warm feel to the place and not forgetting the breakfast. Nothing to fault about the place
