Staff very helpful. Parking easy. Walking distance to beach, short drive to access to hill walks, and other places of interest. Relaxed. Good place to meet friends/ eat/ drink.
Room was clean and comfortable the food in the resturant was good
To many dogs in the bar,you had to keep stepping over them to get anywere and some of the poeple did not want to move them.If poeple want to drink with dogs go sit in a kennal
Bed was good quality. Breakfast good and served nice and hot. Friendly staff made you feel welcome.
No proper shower, hand attachment with poor water flow, managed with the bath as only one night, most people expect a shower so should have been clear there was not one.
evening meal nice gardenng
grubbiness in general
Loved the restaurant food, husband says beer was excellent. Staff all very friendly.
needed lots of TLC. Shabby. Breakfast cold on 2 of the 3 mornings. Very, very slow service.
The Lodge was fantastic - very comfortable and well appointed Breakfasts were very good Hosts were very convivial Relaxing stay Excellent bar and restaurant
Would have been nice to be more flexible with breakfast choice and timing. Ordering a day ahead is not ideal and the helpful staff always tried to accommodate changes on the morning anyway do seems unnecessary. Room service would make a nice option especially if staying in the Lodge.
staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. wide range of food available in a lovely restaurant. refreshingly oldy-worldy so different from modern 'plastic' hotels.Good beer garden
clutter at bottom of stairs leading to bedrooms - also at the top of the stairs.
Manager was very helpful when we asked for a full refund and did so immediately. Couldn't fault him for his help.
Decor was very shabby. Nothing like the beautiful room in the pictures. Entire pub was dark and uninviting.
Easy to find hotel with an oldie world atmosphere, room was clean and spacious, bed very comfy. Food is very nice indeed, you may find even after a few days you have put on a few pounds, area is fantastic, Quantock hills in front and the rustic and beautiful coast behind all within walking distance
difficult to not like but if I had to, parking at the site can be difficult (more down to inconsiderate other people who think just because they have a sports car they can park on and angle. Its an old building so expect some noise from nelly the elephant and her tap dancing sisters upstairs
Friendly staff, good food and comfy room. Would stay again.
Limited parking in front of hotel on roadside.
Staff were lovely and were always keen to help us.we really enjoyed the food and great breakfasts. Room 8 , the family room , is located at the back of the pub and was quiet , comfortable and perfect for our weekend.
Very friendly. Welcoming. Spacious room. comfortable
Needed better shower. ?more cereal or non-cooked breakfast options
Great staff, Good selection of drinks Excellent food, superb rooms. nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
having to leave
Wifi didn't work in our room although I checked the codes twice with a staff. The breakfast service took too long (after 50mins we took table, no cooked dishes and we had to leave before having it to attend an event). At least we got takeaway Breakfast and I had it for lunch.
Super hotel and very comfortable. Staff very efficient and helpful.
There was quite a few people staying there that required early breakfast ( ten or more ) No flexibilty on a cooked breakfast.found this frustrating as this is our fourth hotel this year and this is the only one that wouldnt change breakfast time
Very friendly with good food.
Board outside offered rates for dinner, B&B and Accomodation significantly less than what I paid for just my room.
Made welcome, friendly professional attitude from all staff. Nothing to much to assist.
A few more smiles from one member of staff always polite and courteous but did not smile.
The owner John was great, even though the place wasn't busy ona Monday night he was so welcoming and friendly. This would be a great place to stay if you like a traditional pub/hotel. Food was excellent, divinely recommend this place, would stAy again if in area. Oversized bed was lovely.
Poor wifi, but place is remote an this is an old stone building so has to be expected!
Very cosy& informal
food was excellent
