lamp shade on floor tea making facilities poor
Surprised rooms were being let with management on end of phone only. Some rooms in process of being decorated.
The low cost. Heating was turned up for 2nd night after I complained. Plenty of tea & milk available in passage. Quiet. Adjacent paid parking.
The pub/hotel is closed. There is no food, beer or hearty welcome. I was the only guest. I understand the place is being refurbished but please state clearly on website. I travelled a long way and was very disappointed.
I got a bed for the night and did not have to sleep in the car
No facilities, no on site staff, people running it upped and left a couple of weeks ago.
The rooms had lamps with light bulbs missing, only one really old plug socket in the rooms, wall paper hanging off, stains on the ceiling, holes in the floor, lights did not work properly, room furniture ie lamps, draws, sinks etc were all damaged or did not work somehow, every floor board was squeaky, the skirting boards had holds in them, the floors had holes in them, the carpet was thread bear, the bedding did not look washed, there was a musky smell through out, the carpet had come of the carpet grips under the doors so once you opened a door you had to be careful not to step on the carpet grip spikes, there was holes all over the bathroom floor, the bathroom was not fit to have a wash or a shower in, the shower head was inside the bath but the shower on/off box was across the room so you could not adjust water temperatures from inside the shower, there was too many beds squashed into one room, the windows did not close properly letting in cold drafts all night, the bedding was too thin, when walking on the floor boards in one room it made the radiator on the wall shake, there was a hole in the ceiling in the corridor leading to the outside. the entire property looked like it was ready to be knocked down and rebuilt.
There was nothing to like sorry.
We couldn't stay there! There was no water, no towels and the bed linen hadn't been changed from previous guests. We knew the bar was closed but we we're let in by the workmen - there were no staff on site and it was far from just the bar that was unavailable. Both the owner and booking.com we're very unhelpful and claimed it was habitable - it wasn't and this is from somebody who happily backpacked around Cambodia with minimal amenities - this was in a state worse than any of those £3 rooms! Steer clear.
As above please can you deal with this
I have already informed you that this Hotel was closed . We were unable to gain access and had to drive on and continue our journey that night . Most inconvenient. Please me
we do a lot of work away and we don't expect much except a clean place with clean shower - if you are thinking of staying here don't its bad very bad - being in the building trade a piece of advice knock the place down and start again
The place is a shambles. Nobody onsite to greet you. Had to phone and wait in the rain for 20 mins until someone turned up. There is no Pub food. No cosy log fire No tv lounge no wifi No booking in/out system No plug in the tiny sink in the room. One kettle in hallway for the whole floor. I feel you should check your patron's accommodation before advertising it on your website. I am absolutely disgusted with the whole experience.
No staff on hand, waited for over 45 mins after ringing the contact number given, n the end annoyed so left and returned home, waist of time and fuel.
everything, i have never stayed in such a dirty hole. Paper coming off ceiling and wall. sheets were dirty we stayed on top of bed. bathroom smelled of wee mouldy and floor caving in. If wasnt that we had traveled for a party and all the hotels were fully booked we made the best of a bad job please do not stop here.
Sink in room no hot water.Quilt ripped. No wardrobes to hang clothes. No bedside tables.Room freezing as no heating. No tv in room.Tea making facilities on landing.
Radiator stuck on full blast Shared toilet Small room(but you get what you pay for)
Price Cleanliness Staff
Bathroom..lino torn and filthy. Would not get in the bath!!Badly needs refurbishing. Bedroom ok for cheapness but no bedside cabinet or bedside light. I have photos if you want to see the problems. No food available not even bar snacks.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Beautiful old building but let go.
Rooms could do with a decoration
Homely Feel with a friendly atmosphere
A guest from the downstairs bar was rude aggressive and racist towards my partner. The room wasnt clean it had mould all the way up the wall no tv or wifi, we left 10 mins after arriving.
Staff were friendly and did give us a refund
cleanliness was poor no ensuite
The bathrooms were not really looked after properly, but part of that was because of other guests
Staff were friendly and helpful
no shower in room. unable to use the bathroom, when ever I went some was already using the room. on both days I ended up by having a hand wash in the sink in the room I booked.
Filthy room, Filthy shared bathroom, 1 lamp only working in room, 1 plug socket as others were OVER THE DOOR FRAME!!!!!! Tea/coffee facilities a joke, how you are expected to fill a kettle when I could spit more than the bathroom tap. Also I point out they didnt even know we had booked and wished now they hadnt got a spare room for us!!!
What did we like the bed had springs that you feel bathroom filthy so run down parking facilities were none
No room key, filthy room, wallpaper hanging off, dirty bed linen, no toilet roll.....the list goes on. We booked last minute as we could have our daughter in with us, and realised it may be you get what you pay for, but really!!??? This place should be shut down !!! Disgusting, please do use reviews as reference as we wish we would of taken notice now!!
Contractors hotel from the 70s
Very very poor standard of accommodation. Dirty, damp, dangerous electrics and furniture. I would say you get what you pay for but have stayed in vastly superior places for the same money. Didn't have any wifi despite advertising it. Very bad
A restaurant down the road that did brilliant mixed grill
Basic facilities, shared bathroom
Staff tried very hard and were very helpfull
