The hotel was very 'tacky'. A very poor attempt at being a historic. It had IKea look like furniture dressed to look old with cheap fabric. They also tried to mis sell items and slip items onto the bill- hoping we wouldn't notice.

Service was excellent as was the "Cottage" we stayed in at the hotel. Location of the hotel was also perfect. Would definately recommend it.

Efficent friendly staff. Request by phone for unsalted butter, met at both breakfasts and dinner. I would recommend room 28, very large bed,and both shower and bath in bathroom.

Cannot fault it. Much better value, cleaner, brighter and food better than Mermaid.!

Everything. This is the third time we've stayed at The Hope Anchor when visiting the area. If we couldn't get in at Hope Anchor on our chosen date I would change to a date when accommodation was available. The Staff are great, (especially the lovely Hannah who was there on our first visit some years ago. We were so pleased to find she is still working there). The breakfast is delicious and they have an excellent restaurant. Lovely spacious rooms with great views. My favourite hotel in the whole of England!!

The room and bathroom were comfortable. The restaurant was good and the bar very friendly.

The wine list needs expanding.

Lovely hotel in Rye, the location is quite high with beautiful countryside views. If arriving by car, some of the roads are cobblestones and a parking permit is thoughtfully provided by The Hope Anchor. Staff very efficient and helpful.

Lucky to get a parking spot. Could be a problem but not a lot you can do.

The location of the hotel,the size of the room & the views were excellent. The breakfast was very tasty & the choice of food was good.

The room smelt very musty on arrival, which was very disappointing as this was meant to be a 50th birthday treat/surprise. Also the cobwebs in the bathroom would match any in a stately home!!!!!

incorrect pricing for diner on leaflet left in room. a simple stroke with a biro could correct this misleading information.

They had problem with heating which really did not affect us but gave a generous discount

Clean, very charming four poster bedroom. Nice hotel. Quiet, we slept very well. Good quality mattress.

Heater in the bathroom was too hot (we didn't complain, just closed the bathroom door at night).

The suite we had was lovely. Gorgeous four poster bed, good old leather armchairs and clean efficient bathroom.

The bathroom was if anything too hot! No real coffee at breakfast.

A friendly hotel in a quiet location. The apartment we stayed in was spacious with modern decor. Good food and service. We enjoyed our stay

the staff were excellent,attended to all our needs!

a few minor issues-missing drawer handle,missing signage on cold tap & shower hose needed descaling,we cleaned it from black to silver.If these were all dealt with it would be one of the best places we have stayed!We would stay there again,this is said without malice.

The atmosphere was very cosy for our aniversary weekend.

Room (27) was a bit awkward for taller people like my husband because of the ceiling angles etc.

Friendly and efficient staff from the moment we arrived. Wonderful food in lovely surroundings with excellent choice. Recently decorated room warm and comfortable. Cosy bar. My wife and I stayed three nights and would thoroughly recommend it.
