From the moment we arrived the views were breath taking. Attentive warm welcome from all the staff. Even made a bespoke birthday menu as it was my fiancé 50th birthday celebration. Excellent accommodation and fabulous food. Can't ask for more.
Can not fault anything , excellent standards all round!
Surroundings and location, graceful attractive building.
Lack of attention to detail, service in the restaurant both in the evening and even more so at breakfast (which was NOT BUSY). Has the opportunity to meet its potential in both food and service but FAILS.
The views were stunning! The new rooms are lovely good size and very comfortable to be in. The hotel itself is very inviting and had a touch of class the surrounding area is also nice and quite!
Excellent food. Beautiful views of the gardens and beyond. We were made very comfortable.
There was no one on reception when we arrived and it took a while to check in.
The food here is just something else.... an experience and what a brilliant chef! The staff and owners alike are wonderful. Superb location.
Deluxe rooms are rather nice and patio a bonus - looks like the room could have done with a fresh lick of paint to be honest....and definitely needs a valance on the bed as would make the first impressions a bit better - price a bit steep in comparison to other venues for similar room. But the staff and owners make up for that!
Excellent and beautiful place
staff very attentive and friendly, great location
Very disappointed with the room, bathroom terrible, needs to be upgraded, expensive considering how poor the bathroom was. I was expecting luxury for the price charged
Location, lovely rooms, country house home from home, food and excellent staff.
Only having time to stay one night!
Food Customer service Location
The location and room was stunning. Absolutely want to return again. Too bad the weather wasn't as good as the hotel.
Everything-food, staff, location, views, and the overall feeling of calm & relaxation.
Having to leave
Large rooms Good WiFi
No alternative dining option. Late start for breakfast
Beautiful building with amazing country views. The room was small (as described) but very tastefully done and with a great balcony overlooking the most beautiful garden. Lovely! Breakfast was excellent too.
Beautiful location, stunning views and staff were extremely good. Room had everything you needed and loved the bathrobes and good quality toiletries.
Although facilities in the room were well thought out, the room showed signs of wear and tear - paintwork in bathroom chipped and the paintwork on the walls had been patched up poorly.
Wonderful location. Fantastic views from dining room over the valley. Fabulous food well presented in delightful, comfortable surroundings. Very relaxing break.
Staff were very attentive ensuring that the stay was most enjoyable They could nothing about the weather in early April which was really awful rain thick mist and cool The food was very good nicely presented with a fair choice across the dinner menu over two evenings
Nothing really possibly a ' trouser press in the room ' but that is just me
Superb staff, arrived late and unexpectedly. Was made very welcome, was brought a tray breakfast to my room at night, due to early departure. Plush, comfortable modern room, gorgeous historic main building. Beautiful location.
The staff were all lovely,Hotel warm and comfortable.
Having to get from the garden room to the dining room when it was wet and cold, would have been better to have a room in the main house. The garden rooms would be lovely in summer, a second easy chair would also have been nice.
Thought we might not be posh enough to stay here but the staff were very welcoming and I felt very comfortable. They even piped Happy Birthday on my petit fours which was a nice surprise
Wasn't over impressed with the scallops I had as a starter.
The Staff worked really hard to ensure we had a good stay. It was a birthday celebration for one of the party and the hotel went that extra mile to please. Food was very good with the exception of the breakfast on the Friday morning
Our room was a little small as was the shower room/ bathroom and for the cost I was a bit disappointed but everything else was splendid
Great old house with valley views. Comfortable bedroom and good shower.
Only one option for dinner which cost nearly 50 pounds. Too isolated to drive to other restaurant options.
Good Food aand service
We really enjoyed our stay couldn't have been better
There were no flannels in the bathroom
