The Horse Guards is a lovely warm stone built country inn with a blazing wood burner and warm welcoming hosts and staff. It was great to find somewhere our dog was welcome, and on a quiet lane for dog walking. Our room was furnished to a high standard and we slept very well. A separate door to the rooms meant we could come and go as we wished, especially useful when you need to take the dog out. We would certainly stay again if we return to the area.
Very friendly hosts and lovely food . We were made most welcome and enjoyed the lovely villages that are near by.
The wi fi was poor ,we couldn't get a signal .
Four of us met here and used both rooms; both rooms are lovely, with modern stylish decor and good en suites; the rooms have a separate entrance from the car park, avoiding any need to go through the pub. Although the rooms are over the bar, there was little or no sound penetration and the rooms were quiet. Arthur and Janette are super hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The pub is great, and their food delicious. We will be back sometime!
nothing, we loved it
Warm, friendly service and excellent menu - wide choice of interesting dishes - perfectly cooked - top quality ingredients and generous portions. A fine pint and good wine. Very comfortable room. Peaceful location. No intrusive background music - but a calm and soothing atmosphere. Enjoyed our table by the wood burner very much. A wonderful romantic birthday celebration. Thank you!
The Horse guards was an excellent find. It was the ideal place for us to stay whilst attending a wedding in Tetbury. The room was large, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. We were made most welcome by the owners and staff. Food was also very good. We would highly recommend this venue.
comfortable and welcoming hotel. Very friendly and helpful owners lovely rooms Good food
Tables would have looked nicer with cloths
Brilliant stay. Very comfy room tastefully decorated to a high standard. Arthur the owner very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent choice and very tasty. Highly recommend.
The Horse Guards was a charming rural pub. The room was very attractive and comfortable (when the heating came on)!! The food was delicious with a very good choice of menu. The owners were most welcoming and really friendly.
Accommodation and breakfast excellent.
Evening meal main course below expectations.
We had a lovely stay here the room was beautiful and the couple that run the pub and rooms are so friendly. We would stay again and would recommend to friend's and family.
Our room was warm and extremely comfortable with a very nice en suite shower room. Arthur and Janette are the perfect hosts, friendly and welcoming. The Horse Guards is located a little off the beaten track but certainly worth the trip. The locally sourced ales were exceptional.
The evening meals did not live up to our expectations.
Local beer very nice.
Hot water for shower took ages to come through. Extract vent in bathroom needed cleaning, very dirty. Background music in bar/restaurant would have been nice, especially as there were only four people in the place the whole evening whilst we were there.
The bedroom was beautiful. The evening meal(steak night) was good value.
The breakfast was a huge disappointment! There were only two of us there and yet it took 20 mins to arrive,by which time tea and coffees had gone cold. Toast arrived as we had finished breakfast.
The Inn was great, historic rustic charm on the outside and excellent modern facilities in the room and downstairs in the restaurant. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on sightseeing in the area. The food was tremendous, and we ate both evening meals there. We would have liked to stay another couple nights to try the other items on the menu, because it all looked great. Located in a charming small hamlet but note that you do need a car to get there. For us, it was an altogether enjoyable stay and we hope to come back again.
The HorseGuards delights from the first to last. The accommodation is excellent and wouldn't shame a top class London Boutique Hotel - only bigger! The Breakfast has to be tasted to be believed - delicious ++. The staff were so polite and accommodating, a breath of fresh air. Thank you very much HorseGuards.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were of a high standard and the breakfast was excellent.
We couldn't honestly find anything that we didn't like except that it's too far away from where we live, to use the Horseguards on a regular basis!
Facilities, staff, restaurant. The whole experience was wonderful.
Excellent hosts and friendly staff. Stylish and spacious rooms in a very quiet location which provided a very sound sleep. Dinner and the inclusive breakfast was homely and delicious.
As the rooms are above a pub, noise is to be expected, not a real problem for us but if you were early sleepers it might be an issue.
Quiet rural location. Comfortable and spacious room. Good food with evening meals available and well stocked bar. Friendly hosts. Good base for exploring the area, particularly close to Westonbirt Arboretum.
Lack of fresh fruit and yogurts for breakfast
Room was super nice an clean
The owners went out of their way to make us welcome; food was excellent. Well worth finding.
Can't think of anything!
The room was very well appointed, comfortable and spacious Everything had been though about for one's convenience Breakfast was excellent Proprietor was very friendly and helpful Liked not having to go through bar to get to room
Close proximity to bath and the Cotswolds. Spacious room with excellent facilities. Breakfast was top class! The only thing missing for me was a vegetarian sausage. Would definitely recommend.
Only 2 rooms so you get attention. Our room was lovely, bed really comfy and good breakfast. You get a set of keys so can come and go as you please.
Nothing major at all but we could have been given the wifi code on arrival -otherwise lovely!
