Everything, attention to detail was wonderful cant wait to stay again. Credit to everyone involved.
Warm friendly welcome & excellent service from all staff, nothing too much trouble. Comfortable beds & extra special touches in the room, such as home made fruit cake & fresh fruit. Menu of the day was delicious & exquisitely presented, with a good selection of accompanying wines. Excellent breakfast. Would recommend for any special/romantic occasion.
Limited menu Rooms special but on the small side
It advertises itself as a restaurant with rooms, which is about right. We stayed for bed and breakfast, and paid £120. The rack rate was £140. The breakfast was fantastic. Good choice of courses, and not just 'the great Scottish breakfast. The staff were attentive and polite.
The double room we stayed in (No.3) was small. There was not enough room for chairs to sit on. The room was equipped with all the little extras like fluffy bathrobes, t.v., thermos of fresh milk for the tea and coffee tray, and two pieces of fresh fruit to welcome you. The bathroom was fine, but the bedroom is too small and left me with the impression that £140 was too much to be paying for such a small room
The food is excellent and staff are very attentive without being intrusive.
As the rooms are in an old schoolhouse, the windows are quite high and have no views however the rooms are so cosy and comfortable, this does not spoil the experience.
Room far too small...esp bathroom... Every time you used the toilet your arm knocked off the toilet roll... Really doesn't warrant the price
The Horseshoe & I go back a long way. It was one of my favourite restaurants back in the 1970's. It is now back to that standard again albeit in a slightly different guise. The food, wines & service are exceptional & the rooms excellent value. Not too many places get it this right. Outstanding.
The stuffs are very kind and nice and the food was lovely. We want to visit again!
Room is bit small but it's ok.
The friendliness of Staff. The food and Service were excellent.
The distance between accommodation and Restaurant if weather should be bad. The photo gives impression that it is set back from the road, with grass in front when in fact it is right on the busy road.
Pretty much all was ok. Food very good
For£140 I would of expected shower gel a shower cap and a bigger room. There was very little space and the facilities were basic
The Staff, Food and ambience were all excellent. Very difficult to be bettered.
Duvet covers in bedroom. Prefer blankets. Twin beds would be preferred.
Everything. Friendly welcoming staff. Lots of nice little touches which make a difference....fresh milk in the room, fruit, water, cake... all complimentary. Fantastic food, great place to stay. And close to Peebles with its lovely wee quirky shops and great cafes
We stayed over 2 days and it was such a great experience. The staff were amazing and the food was fantastic (breakfast and dinner). We have told all our friends about the Horseshoe and we shall be back!!!!!
Staff were excellent. Breakfast very good. Clean and high quality. Location good.
Room very clean but a little small
Rooms were very combatable staff were fantastic as was the food. not a cheap hotel but well worth every penny
Main road traffic noise
Quiet, really comfortable room; good hospitality tray; great breakfast; good access to main roads; good decor
The booking I had made just the night before had not been logged on to the Horseshoe's computer, so they had no record of my stay. Rooms were still available but not the double bed I would have preferred. They were very quick to put my mind at rest and get things ready right away. There was quite a bit of sound carrying over from the room next door - shower fan etc
Fine restaurant !
Walls between bedrooms are not very sound proof .
Great food, great room , great staff
the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the decoration was really nice, bed very comfy.
Staff were superb. Very friendly and very helpful. Bar and restaurant were fantastic.
Room was quite small with very thin walls. Although the people in the adjoining rooms either side were not being particularly noisy, their conversation became annoying when trying to sleep.
Everything was perfect, from the rooms to the staff and the cuisine.
Would have liked to dine in the evening, but the Restaurant and Bistro was not open on midweek evenings, so had to eat slightly down market.
rooms were very comfortable /toiletries nice touch /replenished coffes /
bistro food no longer available and fine dinning only choice - had to drive to peebles
