Great location, very helpful front desk team. Great views and excellent location Restaurant just did not live up tp expectation; main courses over cooked and really poor quality. Head waiter busy chatting up the feront desk staff to bother with quality of the restaurant.

The food was excellent, particularly the Fal Mussels, which were the best ever. We were also delighted with our room (Chough) which has its own ground floor balcony. All the staff were polite and efficient. We could not have been better pleased. We paid for a wwek parking in the public carpark across the road (£20) and thought it very reasonable, So we have nothing but praise and thanks for a good stay,

Friendly and helpful reception. Room was comfortable and clean but noisy. Location is excellent, but car parking is a little inconvenient. Although both the food and service at breakfast was very good, the service at dinner was poor. The food was flavoursome but complex and pretentious and overpriced. A young lady was trying to keep order and attempting to pacify fellow dinners but was not supported.

The second room and the one I booked was lovely with sea views, food great, porter very helpful. We were put in a room that we didn't book ,it was a the side with very little sea view, did not have a walk in shower and was a great deal smaller than the other rooms.I Complained as it was our honeymoon and was told that the best rooms were given to the regulars .

Most staff were helpful particularly the Reception staff. The chief receptionist in particular. The dining staff lacked direction and I would put this down to the Manager. The rooms were tired in places as if someone has updated some parts e.g exceptional bathroom, stained bedroom carpet etc. This also applied to the meals .Some parts were excellent and at another time I was served uncooked pasta and a freezing cold lobster burger. A strange mixture of experiences and a great shame as because of it's location this could be a wonderful hotel but it needs effective management.

Excellent location on the seafront with a good view through french windows over a bustling harbour. Excellent food and well deserves its two rosettes. Friendly and efficient staff. Not directly related to the hotel but as they have very limited car parking most guests use the council car park opposite. Be careful here as the description of charges is confusing and only coins are accepted, not notes or credit cards.

The view of the harbor from the room and the terrace. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner. There was public parking a short distance away at a reasonable price. We took the ferry to Falmouth and up the river to Truro. It is a old, historic hotel with no elevator.

Location Additional expense for car parking. Feeling that some of the bedrooms would benefit from re-decorating and new carpets. Suggest option of dining- in without using the restaurant and ability to select meals from a more extensive menu.

The room was a delight....a lovely harbour view...even from the loo! we asked for a double with a bath and a harbour view and that was exactly what we got...and then some! Comfy bed, loads of hot water, fresh towels, de-caf coffee option on the hospitality tray, nice quality toiletries and chocolates on the pillows....Bliss! To say anything negative would just be being picky - we feel we made the right choice of where to stay in St Mawes.
